Today was the day of the homecoming dance, and boy were you nervous. All your crushes had asked out your friends already so you sadly were going alone. You had just entered the hair dresser place and you were getting your short hair done really, really curly. As you say under the drier, getting your hair dried up, you texted your friends on Kik, still trying to find a reason to go to homecoming.

Me: Why do I gotta go?! 😫

Me: I have no date, I am socially awkward, and I'm freaking nervous about this whole thing 😒

Koi: I'm socially awkward too sometimes but it doesn't bother me.

Your hair finished drying and you were brought over to the chair by the mirrors. You decided to heed your friend's advices, what could go wrong? But just before you could read whatever else they had to say, you had a call from your friend/crush/ninja of earth, Cole Buckets. You slid to answer the call and felt even more butterflies in your stomach.

"Hey Laur!" Cole greets and you smile instantly hearing his voice. Sure you had crushes at school, but none of them could compare to Cole. He was different from them, in a good way. "Hey Buckets! Wassup?" You greeted him. "Just taking a break from ninja training and thought I check on ya! How are you?" He says and you blush, he was checking on you? How sweet could he get?!

"Haha I'm fine, just getting my hair done for the dance tonight." You told him then looked at yourself in the mirror and saw how much progress had been done to your hair. You had to admit, you looked absolutely fabulous. "Cool! So uh what are you gonna do after that?" Cole asks and you could have sworn you heard some mumbling on the other line. "After this I'm gonna go get my nails done. Then I'm gonna head home and put on my dress and makeup." You explained.

Cole didn't respond for a minute but you heard him bickering with someone, but you could barely hear what was going on. "Shut up guys!....Oh uh laur! You still there?" He said. "Yeah I'm still here. Hey, was that...the guys?!" You asked him and Cole chuckled.

"Yeah sadly I'm not ALONE! But yeah they're with me...Hey what the- HI LAUR ITS ME! JAY REMEMBER!? HEY! AND ME! KAI! HOLA FROM LLOYD! GREETINGS FROM ZANE! GUYS! FREAKING GIVE ME MY PHONE BACK!!! BYE LAUR!" You heard the ninja say and you laughed at how weird they could be.

"Ugh they get so clingy sometimes..." Cole says and you just kept laughing. Just then your hair dresser told you that you were done and you looked at yourself in the mirror and smiled, you really liked how you looked! "Yay! My hair's done! Gotta go, I'll call ya later." "Oh ok. Bye laur!" "Bye Cole!" You then hung up and followed your mom out of the hair dresser. Next you went to go get your nails done.

As the nail artist started with your left hand, you managed to text your friends with your right hand. Apparently you had 47 missed messages. Some of them were about where you had gone and the rest was just a bunch of random stuff.

Me: Back! Srry I never responded back, I got a phone call.

Me: Gtg, the hand that I am using to txt you guys on, is now needed.

You put your phone down and let the nail artist paint the other set of nails. Honestly you weren't really sure how many butterflies your stomach could take, now you couldn't stop thinking of Cole, thanks to purple.

You actually could imagine Cole in his tournament Gi all sweaty and catching his breath and grabbing a towel to wipe the sweat off him. You just couldn't stop thinking about Cole now.

Once your nails were done and you had gotten them dried, you went home. It was now only a couple of hours till the dance and you were getting nervous and nervous by the minute. You finished putting on your dress and while on speaker phone with Cole, you started to apply the makeup.

"How ya feeling?" He asks you. "Nervous. But I'll be fine." You told him. "Sure?" "Yup." "Alright and hey! If they got- Gah! Too tight Sensei!" Cole said, and then you heard Sensei on the other line. "My apologies Cole." He said. "Wait, what's too tight?" You ask him confused.

"I uh-" "HE'S GETTING HIS SHOE TIED!!!" You heard Jay yell then you heard the others laugh. "Guys!!! Shut up!" "Hahaha I thought you were a big boy Cole!?" "Grr I am but I'm not getting my shoe tied!" "Haha then what are you doing?" "I'm uh...getting a new Gi fitted...Yeah! A new Gi! We're all getting one." Cole said but you could tell he made that up. You decided not to question him whether he was lying or not because you were still trying to finish getting ready for the dance.

Eventually you had finished getting ready and you looked at yourself in the mirror one last time, and smiled at your work. "I finished! Haha finally! Cole I'm gonna go now, I'll probably text you or something." You told him.

"Oh ok yeah I'll text you." "Yup haha okay, bye!" "Bye!" You both then hang up. "Lauryn!! Are you done!? C'mon! Let's take your picture!" You heard your dad say outside your door. "Coming!" You said and grabbed your purse with your stuff and left your room.
