You had been talking to Cole all night and now it was that time of the evening where you'd run out of things to talk about and just get socially awkward and shy. Cole had also run out of things to talk about to you but you could tell he was trying very hard on thinking up a topic to discuss on.

You both stayed in the hallway and both backs were leaning against a wall. "So! Uh...how's your family?" He asks you. "They're good..." "Sill don't want me to tell them I'm a ninja?!" "Haha no. They'll probably think you're dangerous and make me stop hanging out with you." "Haha well...I am a dangerous guy." Cole says and pretends to brush dust off his shoulders.

You chuckle and shake your head as you two got silent again. You took out your phone and checked the time, seeing as it was still too early for you to go home. You also saw that your friends on kik haven't spoken in an hour. You decided to text them real quick.

Me: Guys!! I'm at that awkward point in the evening! What am I supposed to talk to Cole about?!

At first there was no response and you saw that Cole had his phone out too, probably texting the ninja for a topic as well. Just then you had a notification.

💜Purple Ninja💜: Do the jingle!!

Me: No!

Koi: Lol wut jingle?

💜Purple Ninja💜: No Jingle, No help!

Me: ugh fine.

Me: LIKE A GOOD NEIGHBOR, PURPLE IS THERE!

You looked up from your phone and looked at Cole. "So is this your first time at a dance?" You both happen to say at the same time. You both got quiet then bursted out laughing. "Alright! Who told you that one?" He asks. "MJ. Lemme guess, yours was Jay wasn't it?" "Haha you guessed it, guess those two really do belong together!" "Definitely!" You said and both of you twos laughter, slowed down.

You two got silent again and only the music from the ballroom could be heard. 'Cole...I really REALLY like you and I wish you'd feel the same about me. Yeah sure I may not be that perfect pretty girl that you want but it'd be nice if you like me too...I'm sorry if I'm really awkward and shy right now but I just can't help but feel nervous around you sometimes. I wish I could tell you these things but, I can't. I don't think you'd understand.' You thought to your head.

That's was all you could think of to say to Cole but you kept it to yourself because you figured he wouldn't understand. You looked at Cole and he looked at you with that smile that always sent butterflies to your stomach.

You hesitated at first but then you slowly leaned your head on his shoulder, hoping it wouldn't be too weird for him. To your surprise, Cole didn't think it was weird at all as he put his arm around you, pulling you closer. You smiled, maybe it wasn't that much of an awkward moment after all.
