The beginning.
Soft breathing came from a woman asleep on a large and luxurious bed. Her pale skin was barely kissed by the sun that was streaming through the window. Thick eyelashes framed her closed eyes as she slept. Her long hair flowed around her as she slept, giving off soft light. She was content in the sleep she was in. Finally, she began to stir from her colorful silk sheets as her cheek was stroked by a large hand. "My love, time to get up.," came the voice of her husband. Her eyes opened, revealing violet hued irises in her eyes. She looked to her husband's turquoise eyes, "Malthe. What are you doing here?" "What? Am I not allowed to see my wife in the morning?," The blond man asked as the woman sat up and rubbed her eyes, "How are you feeling, Brunhilda?" Brunhilda smoothed out her long platinum blonde hair before rubbing her round stomach. "I'm feeling quite alright today.," the woman replied and got up. Malthe fixed her bed as she changed into a new dress for the day. "Malthe, what is on the agenda today?," the blonde asked.
"We have to assess the yield of profit from your followers, meet with several immortals and set up the nursery.," the turquoise eyed man replied, "You may need to take it easy, too much stress will not be good for the baby." "I am not stressed.," the woman replied as she brushed her glowing hair out, "I can easily defend us with my magic." Malthe was about to speak when footsteps sounded, the door flew open. "Mor! Loki is trying to take my eye patches again!," The young man who came into the room yelled. The blonde looked to the door at the platinum haired young man and the fiery haired man who was behind him, "Are you two playing this early in the morning?"
"This little crap keeps stealing my shampoo!," Loki growled and gripped his younger brother's hair as Egil whined. "I'll have Kell get more on the shopping trip.," Their mother smiled, "Don't play as rough with each other, okay? We don't want another eye to go missing." "Alright mor.," Loki sighed and let go of his brother before walking off. Brunhilda looked down as her youngest son hugged her, her pale hand was placed on top of his cold hair. "Are you here to see me or to visit your little sister?," the woman asked. She got her answer as her son snuggled his head against her stomach. His cold face pressed into her stomach. The blonde woman patted her son's hair, "You are excited to meet your sister, aren't you? Egil?" "I am! I want a cute little sister!," the platinum haired young man cheered and calmed down with a loving expression on his face, "I will be there for her. My little sister." "I want you and your brothers to protect her as she grows up.," Brunhilda said as Egil lifted his head off of her stomach to look at his mother's beautiful face.
Malthe listened to the two as he helped make up his wife's hair. His wife was so kind to her family and children, but so cruel to others. She took the role as a goddess very seriously and wanted to protect her followers. To Malthe, she was already his goddess before all of this. The blond man watched as Egil left him and Brunhilda alone. His wife literally glowed, contrasting the morning light that was on her skin. Hair and eyes glowing with a faint light, shimmers on her skin. Her violet eyes looked to her husband, "What?" "You look especially beautiful this morning.," the blond man smiled. The goddess like woman smiled and stood, faltering a bit as Malthe caught her. "I'm fine. She's just taking a lot more energy than the others.," the woman spoke and rubbed her stomach, "I'll be okay now."
Malthe let his wife go with a little hesitation and went to do his chores. Brunhilda waited a bit and rubbed her stomach, "(y/n), I sense that you will be an incredibly strong one." After taking a breath, she walked out of her room and into the hallway of her great fortress. The walls seemed to shimmer with the same power she had. The light grey stone walls led to tall ceilings, supported by heavy wooden beams of ironwood. Tapestry hung from those beams and shimmered in the light cast by the wrought iron chandeliers. Brunhilda's eyes cast to the newest tapestry, it had yet to be woven into. It would have her daughter's crest inscribed onto it once she was born. The goddess rubbed her stomach after seeing the clean tapestry. She continued to walk down the long halls, listening to only her thoughts and her footsteps on the polished marble floors. Her violet eyes looked out to the courtyard, the yard was barren, save for Kell and Thurston doing some weapons training. Bernard sat in the shade of a large tree and watched his brother and father, grinning at them.
Brunhilda thought that the courtyard could use something pretty, like a garden, for her daughter to play in as she grew up. A smile came to her lips, she would get her sons to cultivate a garden. Her steps were followed by much larger and heavier ones. She stopped to look behind her, her eldest son was holding an empty cup. He looked a lot like his father, Malthe. The blonde woman felt a sharp movement in her stomach and smiled before chuckling, "Magnus, how are you this morning?" "I am fine, Mor.," the man spoke and looked at his mother's face, "Are you okay? You winced." "Nothing much, but your sister seems happy to sense you. She jumped," the woman smiled at her son and held out her hand, "She's being very active." Magnus hesitated before letting his mother take his hand and place it on her rounded stomach. The blond eldest son felt a small movement before feeling his little sister roll inside his mother's stomach. A small kick to his hand came from the small being inside if his mother. "She is quite active this morning.," Magnus spoke in wonder as he felt his younger sibling kick at his hand. The Smokey eyed blond man was amused by this, he was looking forward to seeing his younger sister be born.
He had enough brothers, a sister would be a welcome change. The blond man's face had a soft expression on it, "I'd love to meet her." He felt his mother's hand on his hair, "Magnus, please protect her. You know how dangerous this world is. She more than likely will inherit my magic and that will cause her to become a target for those who want that power.," Brunhilda said to Magnus. The man felt a weight fall onto him, he understood exactly what his mother meant. He rose after his mother removed her hand, "I will protect her, mother." "Thank you, Magnus. I am grateful.," the platinum blonde woman smiled and made a small laugh as she felt another kick. Magnus had a small smile as he walked away from his mother. Brunhilda walked through the marble halls to the throne room where she would welcome guests or followers. She sat down on the large and plush throne, letting out a sigh after having to walk all the way there from her room. Usually, she could do it with no problem. But, this pregnancy was taking much energy away from her.
She leaned back and rested on her seat, happy that she could have a little peace before loyal followers came to see her or she was bothered by other immortals. The sound of boots against the floor made her open her violet eyes in annoyance at whoever came to see her. A man with fiery hair and a warm smile was in front of her, his bright violet eyes glimmered. His clothes were much more colorful than the other men in her home, like a court jester. "Good morning, Brunhilda. How are you and the little one?," the man's cheery voice asked as shimmers of frost hovered around him. "I am feeling a bit tired and she is kicking a little more than usual.," the goddess like woman answered, "What about you, Eiden?" The fiery haired man stood tall and made a pose like he was thinking seriously about the answer, "Hmm. How do I feel?" He feigned serious face turned into a chipper smile, "I feel great! I have a gorgeous woman and she is going to have a cute baby!" "(Y/n) is not your daughter, she is Malthe's.," Brunhilda spoke flatly. Eiden shrugged with his usual grin, "Don't really care if she's mine, Kell's or Malthe's, she's going to be a cute little girl. And I love her like I love everyone else of my family!"
Eiden's joyful and jovial response made Brunhilda smile a little. She sighed with the same small smile and felt Eiden's warm hand poke her cheek, "There you go. I got the goddess to smile, My job is done." Eiden's pale skin reflected the light coming off of the woman before him, "Do you want me to make some tea for you?" "If you do not mind.," Brunhilda replied. The woman was poised and regal in her chair as the chipper man gave her a bow after stepping back, "As you wish, my darling." The jovial man left the room with a spring in his step and a twinkle in his eye. The woman looked out the window to the garden and sighed, "A garden would look nice." She felt another movement from the small life inside of her, a rolling feeling. Brunhilda placed her hand over her stomach, "Why are you being so active, (y/n)? Do you like the idea of a garden?" The goddess like woman felt her baby finally settle down.
"What's this about a garden, Mor?," a deep voice asked. The violet eyed woman looked to the open window and saw her second eldest son leaning into the window. His light tanned face was in a grin, showing his sharp teeth. "I was just thinking about how nice a garden would be for (y/n) to play in as she grows up.," The woman replied to her son, "A beautiful garden fit for heaven itself." The reddish brown haired man looked out to the yard, he put his hands to make a small window in the shape of a rectangle. His tongue poked out the side of his lips as he looked at the yard. "Sounds like a lot of work.," the red eyed man said finally, "But it sounds worth it. We can cultivate rare magic and medical plants as well. That would help Loki and Egil make potions instead of relying on Dracul all the time." Brunhilda clicked her tongue. She never really liked the dark magic user and secondary representative of Romania. He always hid his intentions and emotions. Plus his magic type gave her a headache. She wanted to kill him in order to protect her yet to be born daughter, but that would cause the balance of the world to be thrown off until he revived. Perhaps a message like the severe injury of his siblings would send the message to back off. Brunhilda knew that Dracul had a curious nature like his counterpart, so he would want to investigate anything new. (Y/n) would be in danger after she is born because of his curious nature.
"Mor, you have a lunch meeting today with that Italian bastard again.," Bernard said and stood up, "Thurston and I will be happy to get rid of him for you." "No, leave him be. He is doing his part for the balance of this world.," the platinum blonde spoke and sat up as Eiden returned with the tea for her. "Bernard, are you shirking your exercise again?," the fiery haired man asked. "No, I already did it this morning.," the sharp toothed man replied, "I'm talking to Mor about her plans for the garden. Speaking of, what do you want to call it?" "Hmm. Goddess's garden or the Garden of heaven.," Brunhilda answered and took a sip of her tea, "I want it to be a safe and beautiful place for (y/n). Perhaps Thurston can be the caretaker of it." Eiden and Bernard laughed at that thought. The sharp toothed man fell onto the windowsill and grabbed his sides, his raucous laughter got the attention of his half brother and father. Eiden fell to the floor in a fit of giggles. Brunhilda made a sigh of irritation, "This is not a joke. I want Thurston to work the garden. He has an eye for detail and can plan accordingly. I trust him."
She drank the rest of her tea as the two stopped laughing and stood up straight again, Bernard hopped into the window and stood before his mother. She used her magic to send the empty teacup to the kitchen. Her face hardened. Eiden and Bernard both fell to their knee. They bowed their heads to her. "Bernard. Gather your brothers. I need to make an announcement to them. Eiden, have Malthe and Kell help you prepare for our guests.," Brunhilda ordered. The two men stood and gave a sharp bow to her before leaving.
Brunhilda leaned over to rest her head in her palm. She was starting to become more fatigued. Why was this pregnancy different than the other four? A sharp pain in her side woke her up from her thoughts. She saw through her dress, a glow coming from her stomach. She knew this one. It happened before with Loki and Egil. It was magic. The first magic burst. Just like kicks, magic babies sometimes release small bursts of energy. The magic was too familiar, it was exactly like Brunhilda's. The platinum blonde woman placed her hand over her stomach and felt the magic flow of her daughter. Light. Pure light. "Hush now, (y/n).," she hummed to her daughter, "Don't use your power too much. You'll wear yourself out like that." The woman closed her eyes to rest a bit. Warm air blew in through the open window, easing her soreness. After resting for a while, she heard the steps of her sons walk into the room. Her eyes opened to look upon her five sons. All of them were on their knee and head bowed. "You may raise your heads.," she said and the men obeyed.
Their eyes were on her. "Thank you for coming.," she smiled to her sons. "Bernard told me that you had something important to tell us.," Magnus said. "I do. There will be a few changes around here.," Brunhilda announced, "I wanted to tell this to all of you, not your fathers." This made the men pay attention. "First off. We will be making a garden in the yard for your sister. This garden will have magic and medicine plants, as suggested by Bernard, it will also contain some food plants and beautiful flowers. I want you to oversee it, Thurston.," the woman spoke. Thurston jumped up, "A garden? Why me, I'm a weapons man, not a botanist!" The blonde held up her hand, making the Finnish sniper pause. "I am not finished.," she continued with a calm voice that had power behind it, " I also want to announce that I have chosen your fate, Thurston. To be completely welcome into our family, you and (y/n) will be married when she is of marrying age." The Finn stepped back. His heart was racing. He felt like a chain was around him, but it did not feel bad.
The brunet man fell to his knees, "Thank you. You have been too kind to me." He supported his weight on his hands and knees. Brunhilda stood from her throne and walked to Thurston, she knelt down herself and placed a hand kindly on his bowed head. Her fingers traced over his cheek and lifted his head, "No need to grovel like a human. You are one of us. Take pride in that." The finn's face hardened and he nodded silently. The blonde woman looked to her eldest son, "Magnus, I will expect you to lead your brothers and protect your sister." All of her sons raid their heads. Magnus spoke, "Mother, why are you speaking like you won't be with us?" She did not answer her son, but stood and returned to her throne. She lifted her hand out and motioned for her sons to raise from the floor. They obeyed. "Luciano is coming today, will you behave?," She asked. "As long as he does.," Thurston spoke with a harsh edge to his voice. "Good boys.," Brunhilda chuckled with a smirk spread on her face. She stood after feeling their guests enter he protective barrier she had set up.
The woman walked out of the throne room and into a more appropriate meeting room, an office that had a nice desk that hid her pregnant stomach. She sat in the large and comfortable chair. Her sons went to their assigned places. Malthe and the others had already set everything up, drinks and small food items. The platinum blond woman watched the door with her violet eyes and smiled when the guests arrived. The Italian man, Luciano sat down and had a glass of wine be given to him by Malthe, "You have been expecting us. Have you decided to agree to the alliance?" The Italian swirled the wine in the glass before taking a sip. He stopped and looked at Brunhilda, "You usually have a drink as well." "Not today, Luciano.," the platinum haired woman smiled, "And my answer is still no."
Luciano took another sip, "Please, Signora, think about it. How much more power and wealth you can have if you just ally with me, you can spread your cult to further reaches of the globe with my assistance." "But you will want to have some of that power to try and overthrow your counterpart and his allies.," Brunhilda smiled a condescending grin, "Your part in this world is to be the antithesis of the ones who walk as the positive. The notion does seem fun, but you lack the patience." Luciano finished his wine and stood from his chair, walking close to the woman at the desk. He slammed his hands down on the desk and leaned in close, "You and I will have to-a ally-." His magenta eyes cast down and saw her stomach. He backed away and looked at her face, "You're pregnant." The blonde smiled her usual condescending smirk towards him. "You're still too young to demand for an alliance with me, Luciano.," the woman said and smacked the Italian in the forehead with a flick of her finger. The Italian's head shot back and had a red mark on it, he picked his head up and rubbed the red spot.
"Do you still want to demand for an alliance that you would have no power in?," Brunhilda asked. Lutz, Kuro and Gilen stayed quiet as their boss was bullied into submission by this powerful and very pregnant woman. Luciano hissed silently in pain from the flick as he heard the woman's sons chuckle at his pain. The Italian straightened himself up and looked at the woman, "I will have this alliance. And it will not be you who is dominant in the arraignment!" Brunhilda made a small smirk as Luciano covered his mouth. "You will be the dominant one? Are you power hungry, delusional, or a masochist?," the woman asked and rose to her feet, "Perhaps you are a mix of the three." The Italian's men were ready to defend their boss, but knew that this woman and her sons would be very difficult to deal with.
Brunhilda sighed, "I don't feel like breaking your bones today. I'm in a bit of a good mood, so I'll let you leave intact." The platinum blonde sat back down and waved her hand to the men before her, dismissing them from her sight. She waited for them to leave before she felt a kick from her unborn child, "Ah, sorry (y/n). You did not move when they were here, did you? You must have been scared." She felt the child move and roll in her stomach, her smile wide, but gentle, "Don't worry, my dear, I'll have your brothers look after you. My daughter will not have to worry about a thing." She continued to talk to her daughter, not knowing that Luciano was still listening to her from the other side of the door. The man left with his men after being spurred to by the brothers. Brunhilda hummed to her daughter and sighed, she knew what was going to happen. She was scared, but she knew her sons would take care of everything afterwards.
The door opened and a man with a short beard and reddish brown hair walked in, his deep red eyes did not meet Brunhilda's. His messy hair was being scratched by his fingers. "I heard from Bernard that you want to accept Thurston as part of the family instead of my...," the man said and trailed off in shame. "Affair child?," Brunhilda asked with an edge, "You should be glad that I was merciful enough to let you and he live after I killed her." Kell stepped back and looked up to try and meet Brunhilda's eyes, only to find that she was not in front of him anymore. He felt arms wrap around him, "Thurston is a good boy. He is strong and loyal, he will protect (y/n) well. I'm happy that he takes after his father in both skills and appearance." She could feel Kell tense then relax after feeling a gentle hug instead of a cruel grip. He flinched when he felt a small kick to his back. The platinum blonde woman sighed into the man's ear, "I think that (y/n) will be good for Thurston. Perhaps make him happy with something other than violence or alcohol." Kell bit his tongue. He had to be careful around his wife after she discovered his affair and ended the woman he had an affair with. The goddess woman let go of him and sighed, "Now I have to assess the offering my human followers have for us. So boring, but necessary for both us and them." She gave his cheek a little tap, "I will see you and the boys later~."
The goddess woman walked away with pride in her eyes. She was working to make a future and safe place for her family and followers. For the heiress that was yet to be born. She knew her daughter would be a wonderful woman as she grew, beauty and power just like her mother's. She smiled to herself, knowing her efforts would be well worth it. She had everything set up. Her sons and adopted child were loyal to her words and wishes, and would protect (y/n) as she grew. Thurston and her daughter would marry, securing both a good, protective and strong husband for (y/n) and a place in the family for Thurston. The goddess only had to be concerned about the three fathers objecting to the plans and orders she had laid out, although, she would not have to worry after the baby was born. The woman's footsteps echoed on the floor as she walked and found herself at the door. On the other side were her loyal human followers and their offerings to her.
(Y/n) would also have some protection from these followers, loyal followers that other jealous representatives would dare to call 'cult members'. Brunhilda opened the door and was greeted by her loyal humans, all begging for help and offering their own offerings. The goddess woman smiled kindly to them, ready to do her duty for them. She need not worry.
This was her home. Her daughter's home.
Her family's home.
Home.
