Chapter Sixty-five: Lessons
Terri flipped the tazer in her hand around while she and Jess were being scolded by Thurston for attacking America. Egil had told him what they had done and the Finnish man had to discipline them with a lecture.
The other children were given the lecture as well so they would not make the same mistake, Loki stood in the doorway to watch Thurston.
The Finn finished and sighed while taking out a flask to drink from, "Did you at least steal something from him or do significant damage?"
"He was knocked clean out.," Jess said, "His head was smashed against a tree after we threw him."
Terri held up a Keychain with some keys on it, "Is this something?"
Loki started to laugh and Thurston sighed, "You locked him out of his house."
Jess held up a leather wallet, "How about this?"
"Much better.," Thurston said, "you can add whatever money you find in there into your allowance."
"Sweet.," Jess said and divided the money she found between her and Terri. It was a pretty good sum of around 200 dollars american.
Loki chuckled and took the rest of the wallet, "I'll use the rest of the information in here to mess with him."
The Norwegian walked away and left the Finn alone with the kids.
Markus stood up, "Magnus wanted to have me practice with weapons today. I'm going to the practice grounds."
Craig shook and stumbled after Markus to not be alone.
The Finn looked back to the three kids left, "Go do your homework and have your snacks. I'm going to work."
He left the kids to wander about on their own.
Terri followed Jess as they walked around, "Egil told me that he wanted to have tea with us when we got home from school."
"That sounds nice. I am wondering where lady (y/n) is, she usually is here.," the dark brunette female said.
Terri held Aske's hand as they walked, "She probably is doing something somewhere in the mansion, it is such a big house that she could be anywhere."
"True.," the older girl said and looked down at Aske as the boy ran ahead, "Aske!"
The little boy ran into a room where the door was opened, Jess and Terri peeked in to see it was the albino woman inside with Egil. The Icelandic man was brushing out his sister's long and flowing hair.
Aske was hugging the female to greet her.
(Y/n) smiled down to the boy, "Did you have a good day at school?"
"Yeah!," Aske replied, "I talked to someone you knew, his name is Alfred!"
"Alfred? I don't know an Alfred.," the woman said and tilted her head in confusion.
Egil finished brushing the female's hair and smiled to the girls peeking in the doorway, "Are you ready for tea and snacks?"
The albino woman stood up beside her older brother, the two girls could see the height difference between the siblings from that.
"Yeah. I am.," Terri said but Egil gasped.
"Terri, you and Jess need to be cleaned up! You two are covered in grime. This won't do!", the Icelander said and pulled the girls behind him to clean them up, "Come on, time for you two to get pampered."
(Y/n) could only watch as her older brother dragged the two away to clean them up and get them changed into something more formal.
She felt Bernard coming up behind her and turned around to look at the man, he had his nice smile on. "The table is set.," the swede said, "We can wait for them there."
The albino woman nodded and followed the swede to the dining area overlooking the training fields.
All of the snacks were laid out in a perfect display on the table, it was like something out of a dream. Pastries, tea, some little sandwiches and fruit.
Bernard led his sister to her seat and set Aske on his chair, the swede then sat on a chair he chose for himself.
The albino looked out to the fields to watch her eldest brother train his beneficiary, the teen boy was quickly learning the large weapons that her brother was training him with and sparring with.
They looked so similar as well, both blond and pale skin with scars on their faces and arms. Craig was sitting on the grass away from them to watch their sparring, he seemed to be looking a little better than he first was.
(Y/n) watched her brother train the boy he was patroning, both of their movements were powerful and precise. Both stopped for a break and Magnus looked up to the window his sister was watching him from.
(Y/n) looked away from the window as she heard Egil and the two girls come in.
The Icelandic man had cleaned both up and had them in cute dresses that were like the ones he had put her in before.
Jess had a darker and more Gothic dress on while Terri was in a more pastel dress, Jess did not look happy at all.
Terri had an eyepatch over her scarred face area, the patch was very cute and lacy.
"Did I do a good job?," Egil asked and had the girls sit down at the table.
"They look adorable, but I don't know if it is to their comfort or taste.," the albino woman replied.
"Oh? I guess I just went for what looked the cutest on them.," Egil said and sat down, "But, anyway, let's enjoy this time for snacks together."
The platinum haired male picked up a pastry and got himself some tea.
The children followed suit and got what they liked the most from the table, (y/n) picked up one of the cream filled pastries and took a bite. The flavor was pleasing and it felt like it was both fluffy and melting in her mouth.
The tea paired nicely with the sweet treats. Aske was trying a macaron and seemed happy from it.
It was a pleasant experience.
"You two are being much different than you were earlier today.," Egil spoke, "you two were quite brutal on America."
"I did not like that he was trespassing on school property and creeping on us. So we taught him a lesson.," Jess said, "We both got a few hits in."
"Then we threw him over the fence!," Terri said, "Not before we both grabbed something from his pockets."
(Y/n) did not know how to respond, her brothers were congratulating the girls on their skill but she wanted to scold them for pickpocketing the poor man they beat up.
-
Magnus told Markus to take a break as the teen had been doing well in his training.
The Dane felt someone watching him, he followed the feeling up to the window where the dining room was on the second floor.
The gentle eyes of his sister was gazing down at him.
He felt a sense of pride rise in his chest that his sister was watching his good work with the child. She had to have seen how well he was training the boy in her name.
His sense of pride turned into sadness and anger when she turned her gaze away from him, the Dane then reassured himself that might have just been shy or that someone had called her attention for something important.
There was no way that his sweet little sister hated him, he was too kind to her, he was her older brother, her protector.
The blond Dane pulled his great axe out of the dirt and brushed it off.
His favorite axe that his father and mother gave him. It was his most powerful and favored possession.
The Dane gave a few more powerful swings of the great axe and made a small smile, all kinds of memories he had with this axe, his first hunt, his first battle, the first time polishing it.
It was something he would never part with, This axe is what he will protect (y/n) with.
He saw that Markus had come back with Craig and Thurston, he knew it was time to start another lesson.
He looked up to the window to see his sister laugh then turn back to where he was, to have her eyes on him again, to have her attention.
He would teach this Teenager the best way to protect if it made his darling sister pleased with him.
"Are you two ready to learn how to properly maintain weapons like these?," Magnus asked.
The two teen boys nodded and both followed the older men to the workshop.
It was a horrific placed filled with every weapon and torture implement imaginable, the two realized just how scary Thurston was. It was too late to back out of this group now, they had already done the blood link that gave them the power of their patrons. They were in this organization for life.
Thurston waved the boys to follow him back to the back, there was a large whetstone and many smaller ones, Cloth lay neatly on a table and a water system was in the room.
"This is where I sharpen the bladed weapons and polish them to make them look and feel balanced.," Thurston explained, "A sharper weapon will not do much damage to an opponent but it will be easier to kill or maim them."
Magnus took his axe to the whetstone to give a demonstration of how to sharpen the blades, the boys watched in wonder as he made his axe that had dulled with its usage become shiny and sharp again.
Thurston gave then some small knives and handheld whetstones to practice with, "I am going to sharpen some of the large weapons, you can take care of the small ones. Use the cloths that are on the polishing table to wipe away the grit left on the blades from the sharpening."
The boys nodded and got to work with work in on the blades as Thurston polished and sharpened the larger weapons.
The two teens watched the Finn work diligently on the blades, he seemed to be thinking about something else as he worked. A small smile was present on his face, his expression was not scary or harsh anymore.
Magnus saw what the boys were looking at and motioned for them to keep quiet and keep working, the two obeyed and he walked up to the Finn.
"Thinking about the wedding day?," Magnus asked and got a glare from the finn.
"No. Just her in general.," the brunet finn replied and kept working as the Dane smiled, "But now I am."
"The preparations will be made once you two are both ready.," Magnus spoke, "Then you two will marry."
-
America felt around in his pockets, "What the hell."
England stopped and looked back, "Is something wrong?"
"I can't seem to find my keys or wallet.," the American said, "I swear I had them."
"Where were they last?," the green eyed Englishman asked his friend.
"I knew I had them right before....," the dirty blond's head dropped, "The girls beat me up. They must have pickpocketed me."
England wanted to laugh but he just sighed, "Fine. I'll take you home. But call Denmark to give him the findings you told me, you did say that you were snooping around schools after seeing Loki in the security tapes of these schools."
The American nodded and took his cell phone out to call the number of the dane.
The phone picked up and it was not the dane on the other side.
"Hello?," the voice of Malthe caught the American's ear, "How can I help you?"
"Malthe? It's America. I found some children that I believe your sons are being patrons of.," the blue eyed man said.
The Scandinavian man became quiet then spoke again, "You have any proof of this?"
"A pair of human girls were able to beat me up and steal my wallet and keys.," the America replied.
The Scandinavian father sighed, "Sounds like the antics my sons would encourage."
England took America home before going home himself.
Malthe listened to the American talk about everything, he smiled after hearing about the young boy with the ember like hair.
"I would like to meet this child one day, it seems like Loki took him in by how you described him.," the blond father said with a smile.
"Does that mean you kind of like a grandfather now?," America asked teasingly, "Old man."
"Watch it, Alfred. I might have to ground you.," Malthe said with his voice having a smile in it.
America laughed before he said goodbye and hung up.
Malthe put the phone receiver down, he had a small smile on his face.
"A child, huh? Where did Loki find a child?," Malthe asked himself as he went back to his chores. He stopped, "Ember like hair? Could he be... from that woman? If so then the child could be technically his."
The Scandinavian man went back to work after that and wondered what all the other children were like.
