the hole in the wall gang
"I'm surrounded by idiots," Betty sighed, as she turned me around.
"WOWWWWWWWWWWW."
Everyone turned.
"WOWWWWWWWWW," we all said in unison.
The wall behind us had opened up, exposing a huge room, that was filled with ...
"GUNS."
Calvin went running into the room.
Betty looked at me.
"Sweetie? Can you stop Calvin, before he kills someone.
Namely, me and you."
"Shit.
CALVIN."
He stopped and turned. His usual Calvin look, on his face.
"Don't touch a thing."
"But ..."
He reached for a gun.
I pointed a finger at him.
"Calvin?"
"But, just ..."
Still reaching.
Another finger point and a stern look.
"Just one ..."
He touched a huge gun.
Now I was mad.
A finger point, stern look and a foot stomp.
"Oh my God," Betty sighed, as she pushed past me.
"Calvin, if you touch one thing, I will lock you in a room with Russell."
Calvin jumped back and started cleaning his glasses.
"I was just looking."
Now I ran into the room and grabbed one of the guns.
"This is so cool," I shrieked, as i picked it up.
Immediately a ray of green light erupted from it, knocking me to the floor and blasting a hole in the opposite wall of the office.
Betty took the gun from me.
"Sweetie, that is a Bockarian death ray. You could have killed someone."
She put the gun back and helped me to my feet.
She was so strong.
"Look," she barked.
"All of these weapons are very dangerous."
She passed me a gun about the size of a handgun.
I pouted slightly.
"I want a big one."
Betty adjusted a switch on the gun.
"It is set to stun, baby. We just want to stop them, not kill anyone."
Russell and Bob joined us.
Bob helped Russell put on what looked like a vest, but had little guns that attached to the underside of his body.
"That is so cute," I smiled.
Russell turned and shot a hole in the same wall that I had shot a hole in.
Only a way bigger hole.
I looked at my gun and pointed at Russell's.
"I want one of those."
Betty was putting on a holster with two guns and strapping another across her back.
"You will just shoot yourself in the foot, sweetie."
She kissed me on the lips.
She tasted like strawberry and vanilla.
I love strawberries and vanilla.
Bob put on a holster as well, with tiny little guns ...
that also blew a hole in the wall bigger than my gun did.
"We have to hurry," the Baron reminded us.
Betty nodded.
"Lets go."
I reached for another gun, but Betty slapped my hand.
"Don't touch, sweetie."
I was about to say something, when the building started to shake.
"Shit," Betty swore, as she ran, unsteadily, out of the room.
"What the hell is happening?" I wondered aloud.
"KRALL."
I ran out of the room.
Books were falling off all the shelves and even pictures off the wall. Cracks were forming in the floor and the ceiling above me.
I managed to get through the maze and outside.
Betty was staring at the sky.
What looked like Ethel Sueann's house, was rising above the trees.
"We're too late," Betty gasped.
"HUMMINGBIRD?" the Baron yelled.
The house suddenly fell to pieces and crashed back to Earth.
We could now clearly see what looked like a spaceship.
"It is a Zonk mothership," Betty informed me.
"They are escaping."
"Then shoot out their tires or something," I suggested.
Betty smiled and kissed my cheek.
"You are so cute, baby. But if we shoot the spaceship, it could explode and destroy the whole town. And that included me and you."
"And me," Calvin gasped.
There was a lot of gasping happening, all of a sudden.
"You are already dead," I reminded Calvin.
A eerie laugh filled the air.
"You have lost Earthlings. We have your Queen and we are holding her for ransom.
Do not follow us, as any attempt to rescue her would be futile."
A woman's voice could be heard.
"Tell them we will kill their Queen if they try to follow."
It was Nicky's voice.
"I don't want to kill anyone," the man's voice remarked.
I looked at Betty.
She looked at me.
"Nick."
We both nodded.
It is so cute when we do things together.
"Just tell them," Nicky's voice demanded.
"Okay."
Nick's voice came back, loud and slightly muffled.
"IF ... Attempt to ... low us ... kill ... destroy ... net."
"They are going to kill the internet," Calvin screamed.
"My kitties will be gone. No more dancing kitties."
Again we heard Nicky's voice.
"I thought I told you to fix that."
"I did ... up again."
Nick's voice.
We heard Nicky scream.
"KRALL. FOLLOW US AND YOUR MOTHER DIES."
We heard her laugh.
"Bet you didn't see that coming?"
I shook my head.
I didn't.
"How did they know Ethel Sueann was my mother?"
Calvin was cleaning his glasses.
"I told them."
I was going to ask why, but Betty took my hand.
"Not worth it, baby."
Again Nicky's voice.
"Till we meet again Prince Krall."
The spaceship sputtered a couple times.
"We can leave now," Nicky's voice insisted.
"I think I flooded the engine," Nick apologized.
Again Nicky screamed, as the spaceship zoomed into the morning sky and disappeared.
"HUMMINGBIRD?"
The Baron fell to his knees, crying.
I looked at Betty.
"Now what do we do?"
"We go rescue your mother."
I pointed to the sky.
"Sweetie, they are in a spaceship, headed for the Moon."
I looked around.
"I don't see another spaceship."
Betty took my hand.
"Come with me."
We went back into the library, through the maze of books and back into Betty's office.
She went to her desk and opened the top drawer.
She showed me a key.
I shook my head.
"Do we have to go through all the opening drawers and safes and books and such ... again?"
Betty shook her head.
"Why would we do that?"
She took my hand and we went through the biggest hole in the office wall and outside into the back parking lot behind the library.
Betty ran across the parking lot and to a garage, that I had never noticed before.
She already had the door opened, by the time I joined her.
She took my hand, as I walked inside.
"Watch."
A switch was thrown.
The garage filled with light.
We all gasped.
There in front of us was ...
