8. 1842 INN

"WHAT'S UP, Y'ALL!" Austin yells just as soon Tim turns on the camera.

"How y'all doing?" Tim chuckles. "We've had a couple of days off to relax and get rested up but now we're back at it."

"We are here in Macon, Georgia at the beautiful 1842 Inn." Adam smiles.

"This place was built, of course, in 1842 by John Gresham, a former mayor and attorney of Macon. A ghost, thought to be original owner Mr. Gresham, has been seen in the Dogwood Room, and the ghost of a little girl has been seen in some of the other rooms. A third apparition, one of a tall blonde woman, has been seen in several places throughout the inn." Tim says. "We're here to see if we can document any of these claims."

"Plus, there's been reports of knocks, doors opening and closing, lights turning off and on, things being moved around, the piano playing by itself, chandeliers swinging, and footsteps." Adam adds.

"That's right." Chance nods. "We were fortunate enough to rent out the whole top floor. And we'll be staying here for two nights."

"I'm so ready for this." Austin smiles.

"Rob will be joining us on this one. We're not going to make him sleep in the van." Tim laughs.

"BUT!" Rob chuckles. "I will be sharing a room with someone. I ain't staying by myself."

"You're staying with Chance and Austin." Tim says as he smiles at Adam. "It's about two in the afternoon, so we're going to get checked in and have a look around. You guys ready?" Tim asks.

"Let's do this." Adam giggles. "And you guys (pointing at the camera) are coming with us."

"Wow! This place is awesome." Rob says as they walk into the Inn.

"Good afternoon, how may I help you gentleman?" The man behind the desk asks with a friendly smile.

"We have reservations for Foust." Tim replies as he looks around at the beautiful architecture.

"Aww, yes, you're the paranormal team." The man smiles. "You have the top floor reserved. I'm sure you're not going to walk away disappointed."

"Can I ask if you've experienced anything strange?" Adam asks as Tim signs them in.

"Mister, I've worked here for ten years and there have been times that I've almost run out of this place." The employee chuckles.

"You mind sharing some of your experiences on camera?" Tim asks.

"Sure," The man shrugs. "I was sitting here reading one day, it was kinda early, maybe about ten in the morning. We don't usually start getting check-ins until around three. There were several loud bangs on the piano keys in the parlor. It sounded like a child might have been playing around. I jumped up and hurried into the parlor. There is a sign on the piano clearly stating that it is not to be played. But there was no one there."

"D*mn, that's creepy." Tim says. "Is there another door besides this one (pointing to the door) that they could have slipped out?"

""Nope, that's the only door leading to the parlor. I've seen things out of the corner of my eye when I know there is no one else around." The man says.

"You mean, like a shadow person?" Adam asks.

"Like someone walking by." The man replies. "I've heard footsteps on the stairs. As you've might have noticed, we have hardwood floors and they creak when someone walks across them. I've heard it many times and I would here alone. I've heard a little girl laugh upstairs. I've been touched several times."

"Wow, and you're still working here?" Austin chuckles.

The man laughs and shrugs his shoulders as he slides some door keys to Tim.

"You guys will be completely alone on the top floor so anything you hear will not be coming from other customers. The other rooms have been cleaned and locked. So if you hear any doors slamming, it won't be coming from them." The man says. "Mr. Foust, you and Mr. Rupp will be staying in John Gresham's actual bedroom. The room requested for three is the Jefferson Davis room. It has two beds."

"What's this other set of keys for?" Tim asks as he hands Chance the keys to their room.

"It's for the Dogwood room. I thought you might want to check it out. There have been claims of seeing Mr. Gresham in there. It's on the first floor." The attendant replies.

"Cool, thanks. Mind if we check into our rooms and then look around a bit?" Tim asks.

"Sure, go ahead cause here it doesn't have to be nighttime for the spirits to make themselves known." The man says before getting back to work.

Tim turns his camera toward him, "Well, you guys heard it. Looks like we are in for a good time tonight. We're going to shut off the cameras for just a few minutes so we can get out luggage to our rooms. Be back in just a minute."

They pick up their luggage and head upstairs. Each step creaked from age.

"Even the hallway gives me the heebie-jeebies." Adam chuckles as they reach the top of the stairs.

"If someone or something walks down this hallway, we'll definitely hear them." Chance comments. "I think every board is creaking."

"Hey, here's our room." Tim says, pointing to the last room on the left. He sets down the suitcases and his backpack and opens the door.

"Oh. My. God." Adam says as he walks slowly into the room. "It's beautiful but creepy at the same time."

"It definitely feels..uh..." Tim nods as he looks around the room. "Strange in here."

Tim pulls out his camera and begins to talk to their viewers, showing them the room.

Chance, Austin, and Rob head across the hall to the Jefferson Davis room.

"I hope our room doesn't look as creepy as theirs." Chance chuckles, putting the key into the door and slowly opens it.

"Oh, this is nice." Rob says as they walk into the room.

"At least it doesn't look as gloomy as the other room." Austin nods as he sets down his luggage and lays down on one of the beds.

"At least we haven't heard any bad stories about this room. So maybe we're good." Chance says as he goes to check out the bedroom.

After quickly unpacking, the group meets up again to go find the Dogwood room on the first floor. Customers were beginning to arrive, checking into their rooms. The attendant made sure to keep the Dogwood room vacant so they could check it out.

He politely tells Tim and the others where the room was located.

"Okay, y'all." Tim says into his camera as they make their way down the hall. "We're heading toward the Dogwood room and as you can see there are people checking in their rooms. So we're gonna make this quick. We'll come back later tonight after everything quietens down to check it out."

Adam takes the key and unlocks the door.

"D*mn," Tim chuckles. "That robe scared the hell out of me. I thought someone was standing there."

"And you have one lurking in the chifferobe." Adam laughs.

"Oh, Hell, I didn't even see that one. I was too freaked out about the one hanging on the door." Tim laughs as they all walk into the room.

"I wonder why Mr. Gresham has been seen in here?" Chance says as they wander around the room.

"I don't know. I mean, this might not have been a bedroom when he owned the place." Tim replies. "He was an attorney so it could have been his office."

"We definitely have to come back after things quieten down." Adam nods. "Maybe do lights out and just sit and listen."

"Sounds good. We still have a few hours until dark so I think we need to go back to our rooms and put our batteries on chargers and then go get something to eat." Tim suggests. "We'll resume recording when we get back."

"I'm all for that. My stomach is beating my backbone to death." Austin chuckles.

"Same. I thought that I heard a growl earlier but it was just my stomach." Chance laughs.

"Alright, let's go." Tim laughs, shaking his head.

Back in the room, Tim was putting all the batteries on charges as Adam goes to turn off the bathroom light that he didn't remember leaving on. He shrugs it off thinking Tim might have accidentally left it on. After all, he did go use the bathroom before leaving the room.

They head out to find a nice restaurant for supper and to relax a bit. It was going to be a long night. Tim was excited about filming them as they slept. Hopefully, Mr. Gresham, the blonde-haired lady or the little girl would make an appearance.
