(I didn't want to keep y'all waiting too long for an update! But seriously, all the comments I got about the cliffhanger in the last chapter were just too funny to me, I cracked up and smiled at them so thank you for commenting! By the way, if you want more updates from me in general, CHECK MY MESSAGE BOARD PLEASE :) This past month, I've been somewhat MIA because of personal issues and if you want to find out why chapters are taking so long, I suggest looking there. I have a LOT more ideas for this story, going up to where we are in V8 so this book is gonna be nice and angsty by then, and I hope that I can do a good job writing something my audience will enjoy. Well now, happy new year, goodbye 2020, and hello to both 2021 and this chapter! Finally!)

3rd Person POV:

The two of them were quiet for a good while, sitting together in the dojo as the air filled with uncomfortable silence. Finally, the silence was broken when Oscar cleared his throat. 

"...I'm sorry... a-about this morning still, I-"

"N-No, no, it... it's okay," Y/N interrupted, not looking at him. "I know you'd never do that to me intentionally... besides, I... I know I'm not the one you'd want to do something like that to anyway..."

Oscar sat up straighter and turned to her.

"W-What?" 

"...I heard you. Earlier, in our room, talking to Oz.. about Ruby.." His eyes widened a bit before his gaze turned downward again. 

"You... you w-what? What all did you hear?" 

"Mostly just you talking about how... how strong and-and amazing and beautiful she is and I... well, it felt... rude of me to just stand there and eavesdrop on your conversation with Oz so I left... besides, I heard enough..."

"...So you didn't hear everything?" The farm boy inquired after a moment.

"No, Oscar, I didn't hear everything about how you felt. Like I said, I heard enough." She mumbled something after that but Oscar couldn't hear. He was about to let it go before Oz prodded him to ask.

"What was that...?"

"I said I knew nothing could happen between us but hearing all of that hurt, okay??" Y/N all but yelled, tears filling her eyes as she finally looked back at her freckle-faced crush. "...I... I like you, Oscar... I have for years but... I was scared of ruining our friendship and I couldn't do that, especially not since I just got you back in my life but I-"

Suddenly, Y/N was interrupted by a familiar sensation, a homely and loving embrace from the man of her affections. Silence filled the dojo once again, the occasional sniffle being heard as Y/N hugged Oscar back as tightly as possible, almost like she was scared to let go and possibly lose him.

"...Even if I didn't feel the same way, you could never lose me..."

"...Even if...?" She pulled away slightly just to look back at him, a smile gracing the farm boy's face as he began tearing up as well.

"Truth is... the conversation continued and... and I realized I like you too... more than Ruby... I've liked you for a good while and I never even knew..."

"Oh, thank the gods... I thought I'd have to die with these feelings hidden," Y/N chuckled breathily, hugging Oscar tightly once again.

After some time, footsteps were heard behind them, descending from the dojo stairs. 

"Hey, you might want to get up here and claim your food before Nora eats it all. You know this wouldn't be the first time, Y/N-" Qrow commented before noticing she wasn't down there alone, raising a brow at the scene before he connected the dots. 

The hugging pair quickly let go of each other and looked back at the grown huntsman, wiping away their respective tears as they stood up.

"O-Oh! Right- food. Okay, Qrow!" Y/N chuckled a bit, Oscar already making his way to the stairs. As Y/N tried following him, Qrow put his arm in front of her as Oscar went up.

"Hey, wait a sec, kiddo," he started once the farm boy was out of earshot. "I know you talked a lot about Oscar while we traveled here and he seems like a good kid. I mean, he is Oz's successor, that has to say something. But, if he hurts you? Come to your uncle Qrow, okay?"

Y/N chuckled a bit before ducking under his arm and walking up a couple steps. "Got it, Qrow. Thanks..." She flashed him a smile before going off to find Oscar and eat.

~Timeskip because I suck at fighting scenes, as I've mentioned many times and so, my plan for how to deal with the ending of V5 while making sure you readers are happy that you got to choose your own semblance and weapon, I decided to skip it. Use your own imaginations, tell me who you fought against and how in the comments! I loved seeing all of y'all's ideas for weapons and semblances and I would love to hear how you envision this fight going down in your mind. I promise I'm not being lazy here-~

Y/N POV:

So the battle of Haven came and went, everything happened so fast... after it all went down, Oscar gave a message from Oz to Qrow before fainting. I acted on impulse, despite being incredibly tired from the fight, and quickly picked him up so that I might carry him back to the house. It might not seem customary for the girl to carry the guy home but screw conventionalism. 

Anyway, he was out for a good couple of days and I decided to let him have my bed for that time. As for me? I started sleeping on the couch with a spare blanket I found. After a couple days of me hibernating there, the rest of the team took it upon themselves to bring me more pillows and blankets so that I was comfortable. It's pretty amazing how I didn't know some of these people before a couple days ago but I guess fighting together in order to save the world tends to form some type of bond.

Everyone was hanging out in the living room one day when Qrow finally decided to tell us what exactly he was told before the farm boy passed out. 

"We're taking the Relic to Atlas..?" Ruby inquired, looking back at her uncle before everyone in the room turned their eyes to the former heiress.

"...You've got to be joking."

(I will update when I can, I promise, but I am honestly so glad that A. my story has gained so many wonderful readers! B. I finally made it out of V5! And C. The real fun with my plans can begin!
