2. Ms. Doctor

After the incident, Shivaay didn't even bother to look at anyone at the dining table. He was enraged, and Annika could sense it. Only if she knew that he didn't glance up because he was afraid if he did, he'd be unable to look away from the elysian in front of him.

Except for Shivaay, everyone gathered in the living room after breakfast to discuss the approaching events. He moved to his room saying that he had a conference call to attend.

Annika, on the other hand, was guilty for spoiling his morning and was debating whether or not to apologize to him. Everyone hung out with Annika and talked about the functions throughout the evening.

The elders decided to retire to bed after dinner because the functions would begin the next day, but the youngsters decided decided to have a mini party of their own in the back yard.

The Kabeer sisters were setting everything up in the backyard when Gauri spoke,

G: I haven't seen Shivaay bhaiya all day. Rudra told me what happened at breakfast. After that he even had lunch in his room and didn't even come out for dinner.

B: Anni Di, I think you shouldn't have messed up with his coffee. Om Bhaiya told us that he's habituated to this and if he doesn't drink it, he gets headaches and becomes cranky.

A: Bhavu, it's all just psychological. Nothing will happen to him. Plus, unhe sochna chahiye tha aise order karne se pehle. Kitne tadi marte hai yeh. Jahan bhi jayen, attitude dikhate rehte hai. I read in newspaper too, that he's a shrewd businessman.

G: Di, but still. You shouldn't judge a book by its cover. He might be a shrewd businessman in front of the world but he might not be like that in front of his family.

Gauri left to conduct other tasks after saying this, leaving Annika to ponder over her words. Despite the fact that she had spoken so many things about him, she felt bad about the morning episode.

Rudy, Om, Prinku, and Ranveer all came in just as she was ready to leave. She checked behind them to see whether Shivaay had arrived.

R: Annika Di, where are you going?

A: Rudy, I have some work. Bhavu and Gauri are there, you guys join them. I'll be back.

R: Okay di.

Annika paused outside his door, debating whether or not to knock before deciding to do so. Shivaay, dressed in his night kurta, answered the door and was surprised to discover Annika standing there.

S: Yes?

Annika scowled in response to his reaction.

A (in mind): He's in my house yet acting like I'm his servant who just disturbed him.

She was about to strike back when she noticed his droopy blue eyes which had now turned crimson, giving him the appearance of being tired.

A: Aap so rahe the? I'm sorry. I didn't want to disturb. Actually, I wanted to apologise for what I did in the morning.

S: I wasn't sleeping. What I look like right now is the result of the stunt that you pulled in the morning. My head is aching real bad and I don't feel well either.

A: Can I come in?

Shivaay didn't respond, instead he moved to the side to let her through.

He was looking down in discomfort due to his throbbing headache, when a pair of hands abruptly moved up his face and touched his forehead. They both felt sparks as soon as their skin touched, but they disregarded them. Annika was preoccupied with taking his temperature, but Shivaay was absorbed in studying her facial expressions.

Annika shoved him back and forced him to sit on the bed, saying,

A: Wait here, I'll be back.

She returned shortly after, carrying a stethoscope and a container containing a variety of medication.

Annika checked his pulse and glanced at him, concerned that something wasn't right, when Shivaay's words soothed her.

S: It's okay. I have a heart condition since childhood. That's why you may find my heart rates a bit different from normal.

A: It's really not okay to skip dinner while having health issues, Mr. Oberoi.

S: I didn't realise the time while I was busy working.

A: You could've come to the kitchen and asked someone to give you something to eat.

S: And again if that someone was a certain girl, she'd have mixed cups of chilli powder to my food before serving me. No?

He mocked making Annika frown,

A: Galti ek bar hoti hai, bar bar nahi. I said sorry, right?

S: Yeah whatever.

Annika quickly rose up and walked away, leaving Shivaay wondering if he had been far too rude. She came in after a time, holding a plate in her hands.

A: Eat something. I'll give you the medicine afterwards.

S: Annika, I don't have to eat. I know myself, I'll be fine with the medicine and....

He couldn't complete his sentence since Annika had already shoved a portion into his mouth, which he couldn't help but chew.

A: I'm the doctor here, Mister. Follow my orders. Is that understood?

Shivaay just nodded and ate, oblivious to the fact that she was feeding him.

Annika passed him a tablet when he finished his meal, which he took, and then he lied down to rest as Ms. Doctor requested. Annika dimmed the lights in his room and started to leave when she heard him speak,

S: Waise tum gynaecologist ho na? Are you sure you gave me the correct medicine? After all I'm not a female and not pregnant either.

Annika detected his playful tone and turned to give him a fake smile, saying,

A: Goodnight, Mr. Rude Singh Oberoi.

He laughed to himself as he thought of the woman's audacity in ordering him in this manner. Something, which no one could do, till this date.

S (in mind): Why am I smiling when I should be angry at her? This place is full of crazy energies I guess.
