That night on Louis walk home, he feels so anxious, like there's a pit in his stomach, he has a sinking feeling. He hopes one of the companies he applied for calls him back at some point, he doesn't know how much longer he can survive working for Dan and Jax.

He makes it home to his apartment, skips his dinner and heads to bed. He feels so alone, even though deep down Louis knows it's his fault, he's kept his brothers at arms length, it doesn't make the feelings any easier.

He falls asleep desperately asking the universe for help, asking his parents to help him through everything that's going on. He's been able to push everything aside for so long and it feels like it's now all coming to a head.

The next morning Louis wakes with dread in his stomach, something he has grown used too. The feeling gets so much sometimes that he can't even stomach his tea in the morning, today is one of those days.

He makes it to the office, sets his bag down on his desk in the corner and heads straight to Dan's office. As he walks in, he sees Jax and Dan already waiting for him and they look very angry.

Jax goes to shut the door, even though there aren't that many people in the office at this time of the morning. Louis startles as the door is slammed shut, his insides twist.

"Is everything okay?" Louis asks warily.

"You tell us Louis" Dan says angrily as he rounds his desk and sidles up to Louis.

Louis doesn't reply and looks at him questioningly.

"I've had three interesting calls this morning from three other agencies, asking for your references" Dan says.

Louis heart sinks, fuck, he didn't think of this, that the places he applied would call his current job.

"References for what?" Louis asks, it's the only thing he can think of doing, playing dumb to get out of the situation.

"Don't give me that shit, we're not as stupid as you might think we are" Dan tells him. He then reaches out and pushes Louis harshly.

Louis is taken a back and isn't expecting the shove, he stumbles but is caught in Jax's grip and pulled to his chest and held harshly.

Louis struggles to get free but Jax's hold is tight.

"Let me go" he tries.

Dan smirks and reaches out and grips Louis chin tightly, forcing Louis to stop struggling and look him in the eye.

"What did we tell you yesterday, you fucked up Louis, and I made sure to let those firms know exactly what you're like to work with" Dan smirks.

Louis hears Jax chuckle behind him.

"We told them that you can't draw, that you lack work ethic, that it would be a huge mistake to take you on, most of those companies are in Dan's hip pocket, look up to him, thanked us for being truthful" Jax laughs.

Louis deflates, he's none of those things and hates that his reputation is being ruined before his career has even begun.

"I'm insulted and offended Louis and I don't like being stabbed in the back" Dan says evilly.

Louis isn't expecting Dan's fist, so when it comes down on his cheeks he gasps, Jax lets him go and he falls to his knees with the force and grabs his cheek. Dan then hauls him up by the collar and looks him straight in the eyes.

"This is only just the beginning Louis, I own you and your career, if you want to make it in this industry you will do as I say. I also have a number of connections in the media, I know all about your past and your brothers. I don't think you'd want me to mess with their careers or release your past and how it was probably your fault your parents died to the London media" Dan spits.

Louis is left speechless and scared at Dans words, he doesn't want any of that to happen, his brothers have been through enough because of him.

"Now, you're going to be a good little intern for us aren't you" Jax smirks as Dan lets him go.

Louis doesn't answer, still in shock.

"I'm sorry Louis, what was that?" Dan asks condescendingly.

"Um....yes" Louis whispers.

"Yes what?" Dan says.

Louis knows what he wants him to say and his breathing picks up slightly, Dan is waiting for him to answer.

"Yes Sir" Louis says lowly.

Jax and Dan look to each other and smirk triumphantly before they look back to Louis.

"There's a good pup" Dan says as he pats Louis cheek.

Louis hates this, he feels disgusting and violated just being in this situation.

"Now off you go" Jax says.

Louis doesn't need to be told twice and he makes his way to the door.

"Oh, and Louis" Dan calls, Louis looks back as he reaches for the door-handle.

"Tell anyone about this and you know what will happen" Dan says threateningly.

Louis doesn't reply, he just leaves the room and heads to his desk. Keeping his head low and out of the way all day.

By the time Louis is on his way home that night, the bruise on his cheek is so prominent. He hopes the boys don't FaceTime him anytime soon, because it's going to be hard to explain away.

He's halfway home when his phone rings, he takes it out of his pocket and doesn't recognise the number.

"Hello" Louis says.

"Hello, is this Louis Tomlinson" the voice asks, the guy on the other end sounds somewhat young and not someone Louis recognises.

"Um, it is" he says

"Great, this is Noah Bolton, I'm calling from HS & Wolf, we were hoping you were free to come in tomorrow for an interview" Noah says.

Louis is in actual shock, he can't believe this is happening. He's so taken a back it takes him a good few seconds to form words.

"Oh wow, yes, sorry, yes absolutely, I would love to come in for an interview" Louis says, he then cringes at his awkwardness and nearly slaps himself in the forehead with his palm.

"That's great, how does 9:30 sound" Noah asks.

"Perfect" Louis responds.

"Wonderful, you're booked in, I'll send you the address and directions to this number and I really look forward to meeting you tomorrow" Noah tells him.

"Thank you, yes, you too, thank you" Louis says smiling.

They say their goodbyes and Louis hangs up. He actually cannot believe that just happened. Louis is beyond excited, and a little nervous. This could be his chance. He does worry for a split second that it's a cruel joke, or a test from Jax and Dan but he pushes that aside quickly, he won't think about any negative thoughts, this is the opportunity he's been waiting for.

That night in bed, he can't help himself when he sends a text out to Harry and Scott.

"You'll never guess what" he says.

"Omg what?" Harry sends back.

"Tell us" Scott replies.

The boys are lying in bed when they get the text through from Louis, they smile widely at the fact Louis decided to text them with the news. They were hoping he would.

"I just got an interview with HS & Wolf" Louis tells them.

Harry and Scott chuckle, they made sure to tell their recruitment department about Louis and had their assistant Noah call him for an interview after Louis design book and resume turned up two days ago.

To say Harry and Scott are impressed with Louis work is a complete understatement. Louis is exceptionally talented and they haven't seen talent like his in years. His drawings are unbelievable.

"Louis, that is wonderful! We are so proud of you" Scott says in reply.

"Well done Louis, that's amazing" Harry says.

"Thanks" Louis writes.

"They would be lucky to have you" Scott then texts.

"I'm nervous, I don't think my designs are good enough" Louis says.

"Louis, you got yourself an interview, they wouldn't have asked you if they didn't think you were talented enough" Harry responds.

"You think so?" Louis asks.

"We know so" Scott replies.

"Try and get some sleep okay, make sure you let us know how you go tomorrow" Harry says.

"I will, have a good night" Louis says.

"You too Lou, we will be waiting to hear from you" Scott tells him.

Scott and Harry won't interview Louis tomorrow and they don't want Louis to know they own the company just yet. They don't want him thinking they only gave him the job because of his brothers and the fact they fancy Louis and want a relationship with him. They don't want him to think they chose him because they've slept together either. Louis has talent and they want him to know just how much before they reveal who they are.

That night, Louis goes to bed with a bag of peas on his cheek, hoping the swelling goes down for tomorrow. He hopes he makes a good impression and prays this interview goes well and he can hopefully get out of Smith and Leon before they ruin him any further.
