The girls ran outside to the truck and jumped in. As soon as Katelyn started the truck the girls were on their way to the forest service road five miles from their house. As they turned onto the road Natalie turned on the radio and turned on the country station. Katelyn smiled and turned the volume almost all the way up. The girls were having a great time singing and laughing, while they splashed through muddy puddles in the moonlight.

An hour later Natalie spots a huge puddle.
"Katelyn lets go for it, it will be awesome!"
Natalie says as she points out the puddle. Katelyn smiled as she sped through the puddle. All the sudden Katelyn lost control of the truck and slammed into a tree. Katelyn was knock unconscious on impact. Natalie got a broken arm from the airbag, but other then a few cuts and bruises she was ok. She looked over at her sister and started yelling for her to wake up. When she realized how bad her sister was injured she started looking for Katelyn's phone. Amazingly in was still in the cup holder. She leaned over and grabbed it. She called 911 and tried her hardest to explain where they are.

About forty minutes later the police, EMTs, and the firefighters arrive. After another half an hour both girls were out of the truck and in the ambulance. Then forty minutes later they arrive at the hospital.

Meanwhile at the house Catherine was in bed when her phone started ringing. She sighed and grabbed the phone as she put her book down. Then her heart started racing when she saw the caller I.D. It was the hospital. She took a breath then pressed the answer button.
After the nurse explained what happened Catherine quickly grabbed her purse and house keys, and ran to the car.

Fifteen minutes later Catherine arrived at the hospital and ran to the E.R. When she got there she was stopped by a nurse. After the nurse explained both of the girls situations Catherine was allowed to see Natalie.
"Mom!"
Natalie squeals as her mom walks into the room. Catherine walks over to the bed and hugs her daughter.
"Are you ok, the nurse told me about your injuries, but are you ok?"
Catherine asks as she continues to hug her daughter. Natalie shakes her head as silent tears start falling down her face.
"No, I'm not ok, Katelyn got hurt because I told her to speed through that puddle!"
Natalie screams as she started to cry harder. Catherine sighed as she hugged Natalie tighter,
"It's not your fault honey. It was an accident. You two were just having fun."
Catherine said as she kissed the top of Natalie's head.
