Chapter Thirteen: Clean
Mia's POV
I flinch when a small piece of pasta falls onto my lap. Frankie lets out a small laugh when I pick it up with my fingers and toss it at him. He dodges it causing the small noodle to hit Uncle Luca in the face. He closes his eyes at the impact and I see Aunt Diana let out a snort while holding her stomach from laughing really hard.
It didn't seem to phase me one bit. My lips still couldn't get out of the frown that was developed on them. I quickly let go of Frankie's hand then stand up from the dining table. I see many pairs of eyes stare at me.
"May I be excused?" I whisper with a raspy voice.
It was quiet until finally Blake cleared his throat and nodded a tiny bit.
"Of course," Blake responded for everyone.
I quickly rush out of the kitchen and sit in the living room on the small love seat couch. I see that the curtain windows were pulled away from the window allowing the moonlight to start shining into the living room. I see the wind slightly blowing into the trees.
I bit my bottom quivering lip as my thoughts wander back to Brady. For my time being here, I have already been through so much and I didn't know how much more I could take at this point. I hear the kitchen door swing open and I see Frankie walking toward me.
"Hey," He says.
"Hi," I whisper.
Frankie stares out the window also but continues to stand behind the love seat.
"I am so sorry about what happened."
I could feel a small tear roll down my cheek and I quickly wipe it away. I sniff loudly and stand up off of the small couch. Frankie opens his arms, indicating a hug. I immediately engulf myself into him and nuzzle my head into his chest. He sways us back and forth while grazing the pad of his thumb on my shoulder blade.
"It will all get better. I promise." He mumbled in my ear.
I shook my head and rest my chin on his chest, trying to stop myself from draining my body. His face was so close to mine that I could feel his breath touch my lips. His nose slowly touched mine and I could feel his heartbeat start to get faster. My heart was about to pound out of my chest.
My breaths were heavy.
"H-how do you know?" I whisper so quietly that I almost couldn't hear myself.
Frankie's nose brushed against mine once again and I saw his eyes give my lips a quick glance. I did the same. Frankie began to lean in and my breath hitched in my throat.
I hear a loud cough which caused me to back up and out of Frankie's warm arms. My cheeks were flushed and I could see Frankie's ears start to turn red. My attention quickly turns to the window once again just to avoid any contact with Frankie.
I squint my eyes and glare out the window seeing a shadow of some sort walk toward the doorway. I wave my arm out to Frankie trying to grab a hold of him once again.
"F-Frankie? There is something outside. I just saw something!" I start to speak a little louder with fear.
He flips his hair back and heads to the door. I grab ahold of his hand which prevented him from going any further.
"I-I think we should call for my Uncle or something. It isn't safe out there at this time of day."
Frankie snorts and pulls his hand out of my grasp. He grew out his claws and canines as a form of protection. I take a few steps back watching him slowly resting his palm on the doorknob. He opens it in a harsh motion showing a familiar face.
I tilt my head trying to figure out who he was and where I had seen him.
"Matt, what the hell are you doing here?"
Matt. Why did the name sound...so familiar?
"Nice to see you too kid. Where's Alpha King Luca?" He pushes Frankie to the side and makes his way into the Packhouse.
He stops halfway when he sees me and lets out a breathless chuckle.
"Mia. It's you. It's really you."
I back up and gulp slowly, trying to get away from him. Crap, I remember. I took his plane ticket and hauled ass onto the plane. I am really in trouble now, aren't I?
"What is all the chaos out here?" Uncle Luca walks out of the kitchen this time and he stops when he sees Matt standing in front of us.
"What the hell are you doing here?" He growls.
Great, so everyone seems to know who he is.
"Nice to see you too Alpha King. I just wanted to let you know, that you have a visitor outside."
Uncle Luca folds his arms and I see him giving Matt a death stare. I walk to the side of Matt and make my way to the door to close it. As soon as I look up I cover my mouth and I could feel my heartache even more at the sight.
"BRADY!" I scream.
His body laid on the ground as he started to cough up his lungs even more. I slide myself toward him and watched as he gave me a bloody smile, showing his stained teeth.
There they were again, my eyes couldn't stop them from coming. I hold onto his cheeks and push my lips against his. I didn't care if he was bleeding. He was alive and that was all that mattered.
As soon as I pulled away, Brady tried to sit up but he hissed in pain.
"No, no you need to stay down."
I see Uncle Luca sprint out of the house with Aunt Diana following close behind. They watched as I continued to give Brady small pecks on the cheek and lips.
Uncle Luca sighs before looking to his side. I see Aunt Diana wiping her eye with her thumb.
"I called a pack doctor. They will bring him into the Packhouse and we will see what to do then," He said loud enough for me to hear.
I smile slightly and hold onto Brady, not letting go once.

Brady's POV
I awake to the sound of light tapping. I blink away all the sleep and see Mia lying down next to me with her head against my chest.
"You're awake!" She screeches.
I feel her climb on top of me and straddle me not letting me go once. A groan of pain leaves my lips but I wrap my arms around my mate. She stares at me with such adoration and I see a strand of her brown and red hair fall in front of her eyes. My hand goes to it as I brush it back behind her ear lightly.
Her soft lips connect with mine as we continue to enjoy each other's presence. She pulls away and I look around the room seeing some old poster falling off of the wall. There is an old console with video games in front of us.
"Where are we?" I ask with confusion.
She sits up and traces my bite marks and wounds with her delicate fingers.
"You are back at the Wood's Pack. Brady, please don't ever scare me like that again. W-when I saw those wolves take you away from me. I felt like a piece of me literally died." She says with a wavering voice.
I try to sit up and this time I succeeded. Mia gets off of me.
She was so beautiful and I still couldn't believe that she was mated with me. She was mine. All I knew was that I can't hide any of this from her. If I wanted her to be with me then I had to tell her the truth. The truth about everything.
"Mia?"
She turns her head to face me and I see the curiosity written all over her face.
I take in a deep breath a let it out slowly, trying to find the right words to start off everything.
"Can you please bring in everyone? There is something that I have been hiding from all of you and I do believe it is the time that I come clean."
She gulps quietly but nods her head in agreement. I see her open the bedroom door and yell for everyone to come inside the small room. After a couple of minutes, everyone was hovering over me, glaring daggers at me...except Luna Queen and Mia.
Mia jumps on the bed and climbs onto my lap as she let her legs dangle off of the mattress. I kiss her cheek and she cuddles into me, sighing in content. I could hear small growls of warning come from Alpha King, Blake, and Frankie.
"What the hell do you want?" Blake snaps.
I decide not to take it to heart and start to tell them everything.
"When Alpha King Theo was killed, my mother was devastated. Heartbroken. Mia, when I met you on that plane, I was coming back here to find your uncle and kill him."
I see Alpha King Luca urge forward with anger but Luna Queen grabs his arm to prevent him from going any further. Mia seems to stiffen in my arms but I rub her thigh, trying to calm her down.
"Alpha King, I apologize for everything I have done and all the problems I have caused. I despise my mother dearly. I know for a fact that your niece means the world to me now and I will do anything I can to make sure she is safe," I pause for a moment before continuing, "even if it means, going against my mother."
Everyone was quiet for a moment and I could sense the tension just increasing. I see Frankie frowning toward Mia. I pull her closer to me in jealousy. He seemed to notice and looked away for a moment.
"So you're telling me, that you were on a mission to kill me? How the hell do I know that you won't try anything else?" Alpha King Luca snarls.
I understood his suspicions.
"I get it. But I can help you. We can get rid of the rest of the rogues at the border of the Moon's pack. I know everything from there. I can give you all the information you need."
Mia just looks at me with worry while biting her bottom lip with concern.
"Do...you know anything about Xavier's body going missing?" Mia asked.
I furrow my eyebrows together and see everyone staring at my every move.
"Mia." I heard a woman with red hair say sternly.
"No, no it's alright. No, I don't know but I can help you find it. Maybe my mother might have something to do with it."
Uncle Luca scoffs while rubbing his chin.
"Alright. This does not mean that you are all of a sudden a part of the Wood's Pack. You are allowed to stay here until we figure out all the bullshit. The room you are in right now will be your temporary room. Mia, you will be staying in the same room as usual-"
"No. I am staying in here with Brady." Mia argues.
"Luca, let her stay in here." Diana tried to convince him.
He shook his head and pointed to the door.
"It's late, everyone head to bed. Including you, Mia, go upstairs. Now."
"But-"
"Now." He said sternly.
I see the woman with red hair and the buff man with glasses come near Mia.
"Come on sweetie. Listen to your uncle." Her voice was soft.
Mia got off of my lap and I felt the sudden breeze of cold air as she left me.
*****
I just stare at the ceiling until suddenly there is a small squeak outside of my room. I raise my head up to see what it was. I see Mia tiptoe her way into my room and she gives me a toothy grin.
I smirk at her and chuckle.
"What are you doing here? You should be upstairs asleep." I whisper quietly.
I pull the covers of the blankets off of the bed so she could climb into the bed with me. Mia obliged quickly and she immediately clings onto me without any hesitation.
My lips linger on her forehead.
"Now I can go to sleep." She says while sighing in content.
