Happy Together

Lindsey woke up, touching the bed beside him and finding it cold. He sat up bolt upright, worried something might have been wrong. For the past four days in Maui, his newly pregnant bride had been sleeping until late in the afternoon. It gave him plenty of time to cuddle with her or surprise her with a big breakfast made entirely on his own. This morning was different. He got up, checking the small beach bungalow for any sign of her. She wasn't in the loft and he was thankful for that. It only had a small rickety ladder up to it and it scared him every time she went up there, thinking she would hurt herself. He checked the bathroom, the kitchen and the spare bedroom. He frowned, hands on his hips as he thought of another place she might be.

"Linds!" he heard a small voice say. "Lindsey!" He looked around, hearing a familiar giggle. "I can see you"

He looked out the window and saw Stevie perched on the porch railing with a cup of tea, eyes fixed on the ocean. His eyes widened and he ran out to meet her. "Are you trying to give me a heart attack?"

She shook her head, placing her tea cup down. "No, I just couldn't sleep. I made tea and I came out here to watch the waves. It's so peaceful....what's gotten into you?" She raised an eyebrow and he looked down at his bare feet. "Listen" she said, turning to look at him. Her feet dangled to face him and he instinctively reached out to make she wouldn't fall. The porch wasn't too far off the ground but he didn't want any harm to come to her. "I know you're nervous, I know you're feeling protective but I promise you, I am fine. We are fine." she emphasized, a hand brushing over the softness of her belly.

"I know but I still--"

"You still worry, I know, and you always will but we have done this twice. The twins were hard but Iris was a dream."

"Yeah until what's his name came around bothering you."

"We've talked about this."

"We have and I'm trying to let it go."

"We are in paradise right now, Lindsey, and you're worried about some schmuck."

Lindsey laughed. "Yeah, it doesn't make much sense, does it?"

"Not a lot, no."

"Especially because I have a brand new, incredibly sexy wife right in front of me." He stepped between her legs, bare, as she only wore a tiny wisp of a nightie. He pulled her into him and she wrapped her legs around the backs of his thighs.

"Right and I'm all yours for the taking, but here you are..."

"Here I am." He smiled at her and she smiled back. "I love you, you know that?"

"Mm...I do. You only tell me with every other breath that you take."

"Does that bother you?"

"No, not at all. I love you too and if I could, I'd use every breath I have in my body to profess it to you again and again." She tilted to face toward his to kiss him ever so softly and he smiled against her lips as they parted.

"I have another idea of what we could do again and again..."

"Oh yeah, stud?"

"That's right. Why don't we step into my office?" She giggled, kissing him again and he picked her up off the railing and carried her into the house.

"My tea" she said between kisses.

"Later"

"It will get cold"

"Reheat it" he told her and she giggled again.

"Persistent, determined..."

"Mmm...you bet." He laid her down on the bed and climbed over her, removing her pale blue nightie. "God, I want you so bad."

"I want you, too."

"I don't want to leave this house." He stood to remove his boxers, and she gazed up at him lovingly. He descended upon her once more, licking her lip before nibbling it gently. The sensation drove her wild.

"Better enjoy paradise while we still have it outside our front door." Stevie kissed him, grabbing a handful of curls in her delicate hand.

"Why, when I've got paradise right here?"

"Oh...baby..." she moaned, slipping her tongue into his mouth. She spread her legs, letting him lay fully on top of her. A hand fell between them and he teased her sensitive bud. "Mmmm....!"

"Like that?" he asked.

"Love that"

He smiled, stimulating her further. "Let's stay here."

"Can't....make the most--" He cut her off by briefly sliding a finger between her folds, causing her let a satisfied sigh escape her lips.

Her sounds both aroused and amused him. He loved how sensitive she became during pregnancy. Everything was magnified and he felt at the top of his game for those months. He secretly praised himself as she urged him to continue. She squeezed her eyes shut, wanting more but perfectly electrified by his touch. His fingers were magic. She could tell he had picked up his guitar again. He played her like the instrument he loved, plucking every delicious chord with skillful fingers. "I love you" he whispered.

"Luh...love you...too" She was breathless and on the edge. She could feel herself building to crescendo when he paused, sliding himself into her as he knew she was more than ready. He groaned, her warm wetness always surprising him. How could he have gotten so lucky? He pulled out then carefully pushed back in, building up a rhythm that made them both cry out- moaning and groaning as he buried himself deep within her, time after time. "G-god, don't stop..."

"I won't, angel, I won't." He could feel her clenching around him and her head shot back. Her toes curled into the breezy, white sheets and he watched her, studying every feature like a piece of rare art. In fact to him, she was rare art. He felt himself getting closer and closer. One final gasp from her was all he needed to join her in ecstasy. He panted, riding out the last waves of his orgasm.

"Wow!" she exclaimed, breathlessly.

"Damn...holy...mmmm, Steph." he replied incoherently.

She giggled as he rolled off her, and she tugged the bedsheets up over her naked form. "You have really outdone yourself this time, Buck."

"Have I?"

She nodded, turning onto her side. "Mm-hmm." She kissed his lips softly, rubbing noses with him. "I love you."

"I love you too." He wrapped an arm around her and she snuggled into his side. "I love being here like this with you."

She smiled. "I love being here with you too."

"But...you're right, I miss the kids. These past few days I've tried to ignore it but..."

"Me too" Stevie admitted.

"Only two more days" Lindsey said.

"Yep" she sighed, this time one of sadness and longing.

"You want to go home, don't you?"

"No, not necessarily." she said.

"I know you do, and that's okay."

"No, it's not. This place is beautiful."

"It is, but so is our home, being with our kids."

"We can share our wonderful news." Stevie said dreamily, a hand resting naturally over her stomach. His hand joined hers and he smiled.

"Are you ready to go back to the chaos of work and the city?" She nodded. "Alright, then let's go home."

"You mean it?" she asked but he didn't speak. All he did was lean forward and plant a passionate kiss on her lips. That was all the confirmation she needed.
