A Shot of Brandi
~With Marc~
It's been three weeks since my last match in Ring of Honor, and I'll be happy to announce my signing with AEW and now I'm happy to be on Brandi's show, where we get to have a drink of alcohol and cook and tell stories, which is my cup of tea. I had a recipe that I ate growing up as a kid and it's called "Tonno Alla Marinara" or "Tuna Fish With Olives", which serves up to four people, and that's the perfect serving size for everyone.
Anyway, when I arrived at Cody and Brandi's house turns out I wasn't the only people there. There was this beautiful Japanese girl that was two years younger than me. She looked cute, I'll admit that. I wonder who she is. She looked at me and I looked at her. She blushed a bit after I stared at her a bit. I went into the kitchen and they were excited to see me.
Brandi: How are you, Marcello?
Me: I'm good how about you?
Brandi: Doing good! You ready for the episode?
Me: Sure am. Also, I got my flag with me. And since not only will I be on the episode, I thought it might be a good idea to show the viewers an idea of my signing.
Brandi: That'll be perfect! We'd be happy to do it!
Cody: Marc, you sure you wanna do this?
Me: Yeah, but can I ask a question?
Cody: Yeah, fire away.
I leaned close to him and said...
Me: Who's that ragazza adorabile in the living room?
Me saying that probably made that girl blush like crazy and I would've loved that.
Cody: Who? Hikaru?
Me: Hikaru?
Cody: Hikaru Shida. She's our Women's Champion.
Me: Hikaru Shida? Sounds cute.
Brandi: What? You like her?
Me: Not yet, I mean, I think we should introduce ourselves first before I tell her I like her.
Cody: That's good, man. Alright, we have a minute before recording. We got the ingredients you wanted, is that all?
Me: Yep. That's it.
Cody: Alright, Let's get to work!
In the background of Cody and Brandi's kitchen, I asked them if they can put the Italian flag over the kitchen stove as a way of celebrating my first appearance on a YouTube channel and they did. They put it up and we're about to the episode going! Cody and his wife did that out of respect. They were so good on that and they were so down to earth and humbled. It was amazing.
After a while, it was time to get cooking, and recording.
Brandi: Welcome back to another episode of "A Shot of Brandi" and we have a very special guest today. Today is going to be a little bit different. You see the Italian flag in the background? That's because we are doing an Italian themed episode today because we have a new wrestler coming to AEW! Please welcome, "El Padre", "The Father" Marcello "Marc" Costanzo.
I walked in and Brandi had her arms out for a hug and I had to. She is really sweet and I love the Runnles family. They are so humble.
Brandi: How are you?
Me: I'm happy to be here, my lady.
She blushed a bit, but I knew I didn't mean to make her do that. I knew that my Italian charm was getting the better of me right off the bat.
Me: If I embarrassed you, I apologize. It's not my intention.
Brandi: You're fine, dude.
Me: Alright.
Brandi: Now, what do you drink while cooking?
Me: I usually drink some red wine whenever I cook.
Brandi: Oh, how classy! Got some Pinot Greige. Here's your glass.
She handed me my glass and poured the wine in my glass as she poured some in hers.
Me: Alright. Salud.
Brandi: Salud!
We toasted and drank. It was such a damn good wine. I feel a bit buzzed, but I can manage.
Brandi: That's really good! So what's the recipe here?
Me: This is a recipe I grew up eating as a kid, and since this is for more than one person, I thought it was appropriate to bring it. It's called "Tonno Alla Marinara" or "Tuna Fish With Olives".
Brandi: Okay. So, we have some of our tuna fish filets, extra virgin olive oil, ripe tomatoes, a bunch of basil leaves, half a cup of pitted green olives, two teaspoons of capers, salt and fresh ground pepper, and 2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs. Those are the ingredients we need?
Me: Sí madam. Let's get to cooking?
Brandi: Sure!
As we started blanching the tomatoes in the boiling water, we started talking about my career and life before wrestling.
Brandi: How are you doing in your career so far, Marc?
Me: Well, it hasn't been easy since my dad passed. Overall, I'm doing pretty well for myself.
Brandi: Growing up in the mob scene must have had a big part of your life? Is that true?
Me: It is, but, I mean, my dad actually didn't want me to be like him. That's pretty bold of him when you think about it and it's how I made my gimmick a real life mafia member, even though I'm not.
Brandi: What are the requirements of being in the mob?
Me: To be a full member, you have to be 100% Italiano. You need to have your blood traced back to Italy, to Sicilia, in order to become a made man.
Brandi: Really?
Me: Sí.
Brandi: So what do we do next?
Me: Now, we skin the tomatoes very carefully and remove the cores and seeds.
I took a knife and started chopping the tomatoes into small pieces.
Me: And now, we pour half of the extra virgin olive oil into the ovenproof dish, and put the tuna in there.
Brandi took the oil into the ovenproof dish and put the tuna in there.
Me: We add the basil, diced olives we had done before the episode, the capers, some salt, and now lots of pepper. And last but not least, the breadcrumbs.
She took the spices and olives and put them on the tuna and was ready to set the oven to 320 degrees Fahrenheit.
Me: Put the time foil on the dish, and we set the timer to half an hour.
Brandi: Half an hour?
Me: Sí.
Brandi then set the timer to 30 minutes, and we got to talk about my Italian life.
Brandi: What's it like to be signed to AEW now?
Me: I think it's the best thing ever. I needed a change in my career and coming to this company was probably the best choice I've made.
Brandi: Well you definitely made the right call. Our company is young, but we do what we can to make All Elite Wrestling the best company on earth.
Cody came in and was smiling about my comment on me making the right choice.
Brandi: What is a consigliere? Just curious.
Me: A consigliere is an advisor for the Don, who is the boss of the entire Mafia Family. And to be in that position, again, you have to be 100% Italiano.
~29 minutes later~
The tuna was done and it looked amazing. We took a tuna on a plate and when we took a bite, I was a kid again.
I was getting flashbacks on how my madre Marie would cook it when I'm having a bad day or something. It almost made me cry, to be completely honest. Brandi was so impressed that even Hikaru came in after a tape!
Hikaru: What is that beautiful smell?
She looked at me and blushed. I blushed too, and smiled.
Me: You must be Hikaru Shida, the current Women's Champion?
Shida: I am. Marcello?
Me: Pleasure to meet you.
She seemed shy at me while she shook my hand. I don't blame Hikaru, maybe I can use my Italian charm around her sometime.
Hikaru tried the tuna and she gave a loud "mmmm"! I couldn't believe it. She likes the tuna!
Me: I see you're enjoying it.
Hikaru: Yeah! This is so good!
Brandi: We're about to record again.
Me: Oh okay. Talk later, Hikaru?
Hikaru: Sure.
She walked away with a smile and a wink and that got me into a blushing mess, but I had to regain my composure and stayed for the ending.
Brandi: And that will do it for this episode of A Shot of Brandi. Marcello "Marc" Costanzo, I'm Brandi Rhodes and thank you so much for tuning and I'll see you next time!
Me: Cíao! And don't forget, make sure you like, share, and subscribe!
Cody: And we're clear!
Cody took a bite of the tuna and he was in love with the food! I was glad that the Runnels liked my recipe. We eventually started to hang and talking about sports besides wrestling, and it was awesome.
After a bit, we sat down and hung out while I was having another glass of wine. Hikaru was just adorabile.
In the corner of my eye, I saw her secretly staring at me! I had to get into that.
Me: (Ehi, chi pensi di essere fissarmi, signora Shida?) Hey, who do you think you are staring at me, Miss Shida?
Everyone laughed at that and she was blushing red while smiling.
Hikaru: Stop, Marcello! You're making me blush!
We laughed some more until Hikaru got into the laughter.
After a while, I left before giving Brandi and Cody a hug. I still thought about Hikaru on the way back home.
Man, is she cute or what?
