Chapter Forty-Two 

I dangle my foot over the edge, trying to balance. I'm currently on top of a high cliff. It's been a week, and everyone's curious to see who would be the first to jump off the high cliff and into the water. I've been thinking about it. I don't think I'm going to jump it; it looks way too scary—and what if it was shallow? Then I'd die. What if there were rocks under it?

I stare at it a little longer; the waves crash underneath. I glanced over to our now-built hut. We found some food, mainly grapes and coconut, and we had fresh water. JJ's been making spares along with Kie, and they're going to go out and try to start to hunt for some proper food, fish.

The wind whips around my hair. I hadn't bothered to tie it up today; I'd lost it by flinging it at JJ successfully. Seeing the look on JJ's face was well worth losing the hair tie. JJ has it wrapped around his wrist. He claims he's going to get me back without me knowing. I'd like to see him try.

I take a step back, ready to leave and join the others, but hands are wrapped around my waist, and I can feel myself surging forward. I let out a big squeal, squeezing my eyes shut, ready for the impact.

It never came. My feet were planted back in the group, my arms were wrapped around my waist even tighter, and I heard laughter erupt from his mouth. "JJ!" I scowled and pushed away from him. My feet stumble, I nearly went over the edge if it weren't for JJ and his quick actions. I squealed again, my heart thumping loudly in my ears. JJ brought me close to him, his hands wrapped around my wrists.

"Saved your life twice." JJ grins, and I shoot him a look.

"That was not funny!" I huffed and quickly moved away from the edge. The rocks felt hard underneath my bare feet. I was slowly getting used to not wearing shoes.

"It was pretty funny," JJ said, falling behind me. "You should've seen the look on your face."

I glanced down quickly, looking at the ring on my finger. I exhale. Thank God it's still here. "You should've seen the look on your face when I actually nearly did fall off." I shoot him a smirk. "Just as terrified, baby."

JJ rolled his eyes. "Yeah, right."

I smiled. "You were! One day, I'm going to do that jump."

"Okay, sure, Hollywood." He remarks, and I roll my eyes.

"I am." I give him a pointed look. "Not might be now, but I will." JJ just smiled at me. "Why are you staring at me like that?"

"Like what?" He asked innocently, inching closer to me. He wrapped his arms around my shoulders, and I wrapped mine around his waist. I don't say anything but connect our lips for a brief second.

I give him an I love you, look which he returns with. Sometimes, we don't say it in our words, but we would look at each other, and we'd understand.

"JJ!" I heard Kie call his name and we both turned, she was walking towards us. She had a slight smile on her face when she saw us. "Thanks for ditching me, idiot."

"What were you guys doing?" I questioned.

"Making spares for fishes," Kie responded with a grim look on her face.

"You guys are actually doing that?" I furrow my eyebrows.

"Hell, yeah, we're doing it." JJ grinned, slinging an arm around my shoulders. "Why, you wanna join? Or is that too Poguey for you?"

I pushed him off, rolling my eyes. "It's not too Poguey for me, I just don't want to take an innocent life. Kie, why are you doing this?"

"Cause no one else wants to." Kie sighed. "Plus, I'm kind of getting sick of coconuts and grapes." She added.

"I'm wonderful with the vegan life." I half-lied. I could kill for a burger with chips right now. My stomach turns at the thought of the delicious food.

"You're just lying to yourself." JJ pokes my side before walking towards Kie. "Come on, let's go continue making our spares."

"It's just sharping a stick, really." Kie followed behind JJ as they made their way back towards the sand. I look behind me, eyeing the cliff once more before trailing after them begrudgingly. I wasn't going to join them, I decided.

While Kie and JJ were off on their adventures, I knew Cleo and Pope were looking for some more berries further in the woods. Sarah and John B are the only ones at the hut, sitting down and talking to each other.

I joined them, taking my seat next to Sarah. "Hey, Storm." Sarah gave me a small smile.

"Hi," I respond quietly back. "You know I just realised we lost our streak."

Sarah pouted. "No! That was, like, six years worth gone down the drain."

"What the hell is a streak?" John B questioned, furrowing his eyebrows as he gave Sarah and me a look.

Sarah's mouth just gaps. "You don't... It's just continuing to snap someone on Snapchat, and you get a little streak. It's simple. Have you really not heard of it before?"

John B shrugs. "I've heard of it, from Kie, but I didn't really bother with that stuff."

I pouted. "I miss my phone. I miss my Minecraft world."

"Of course you do." Sarah cackled. "Your world was shit."

"Was not!" I defend, shooting her a glare. "You wanna know what I miss the most?" They don't ask, but I say anyways. "Our movie nights on Fridays," I admit shyly to Sarah.

She smiled widely and wrapped an arm around me, pulling me in for a side hug. "Awe, Storm. Me too. But don't worry; we'll get the boys to reenact them." Her eyes gleam as she looked at John B.

His eyes widen in horror. "Excuse me? No, we will not."

I giggled, clapping my hands. "Yes, yes! Please. That would be so fun."

"No it so won't." John B rolled his eyes. "I'm not doing it. JJ won't, either. Pope, maybe." We snickered at the thought of Pope acting.

"What's up, party people?" Pope entered the conversation.

I beamed at him. "Hey, Pope. Cleo." I nod towards her as she strolls behind with a basket of berries. The basket was made of our flax bushes. Most of our items were. Sarah, Kie, and Cleo became quite handy in that. "Found anything?"

"Just some berries." Pope sits down in front of us, Cleo setting the basket of berries down. "I'm starving."

"Are you not going to wash them?" I asked him.

"Storm, we've been over this a million times, it's not gonna be poisonous," Pope assures me. "I know this shit."

"Yeah, okay." I huffed before taking a grape and popping it in my mouth.

"Where are Kie and JJ?" John B questioned as we ate the berries in front of us while slurping on coconut water.

"Trying to make spares for killing fish," I informed.

"I could eat a big, juicy steak right now." Pope nodded.

"It's fish, not the steak." I chuckled. "But yeah, same." The group was quiet for a moment. "I'm going to take a walk on the beach." No one said anything, and I jumped up before walking towards the beach, away from everyone. I needed to clear my head.

The sound of waves crashed together, and the wind was beginning to pick up again. It hadn't rained once since we got here. But, we have coconut water to survive off.

I was a couple of metres down the beach and explored the rocks again. I had hit the end of the trail, but there were beautiful rocks that you could climb over to the other side. There was also a massive cave which I stepped into, darkness consuming all around me.

I wondered if there were bats in here.

My feet touch the wet sand; there were little bits of water coming through, but not a huge amount.

I felt arms wrapping around me, shaking me, and I jumped. JJ let out a little 'roar' in my ear, and I huffed. "JJ, every day you do that, and it's not funny."

"It's pretty funny to me." JJ chuckled. "What're you doing in here?"

"I dunno, sightseeing." I shrugged, letting him rest his arms around me. My back pressed against his stomach.

"You've been coming here every day." JJ added quietly.

"Hm." I only respond with. "It feels nice. It's nice and cold in here, not too hot. I won't get burnt."

"You are looking a bit red on your back, have you been putting on sunscreen?" JJ jokes, and I rolled my eyes but smiled. I didn't respond, and he kissed my neck. I sighed in pleasure; I loved it when he did that. I let him continue, did I not care. It was my sweet spot, and he knew it.

"JJ." I softly moaned out, it echos throughout the cave, sending shivers down my spine. I didn't like the sound of my own voice sounding like that, and I prayed to God the others were at the base camp.

His lips detached from my neck, and I whined softly. "You're so needy." JJ teased.

"Shut up. You're such a tease. I hate you." I grumbled, annoyed. I stretched my neck, and I could see his face in the shadows. I connected our lips, neither moving as our lips moved together in sync. I loved his kisses. I turned around so I was facing him, standing on my tiptoes so I could reach him. The sand was making it difficult to reach him.

I'm shorter than him, way shorter. That doesn't help, either. "Jump." He murmured, momentarily detaching his lips from me before they were back on. I trusted him and jumped, his hands instantly catching me as my legs wrapped around his waist. One hand was on my bum, and the other was on my lower back. This was a lot easier to kiss him now.

My lips trailed from his down to his neck. I was about to return the favour, and give him a hickey on his neck. I giggled when I felt him going hard, and I stopped kissing his neck, placing my forehead against his. Our breathing was heavy, and all of a sudden it got a lot hotter in here than usual.

I smirked a little as he leaned in for more. "Nah-uh." I teased, and he whined.

"Stormy, that is not funny." JJ shoots him a look. "You've got me all worked up, and now—I can't even have a shower."

"It's pretty funny to me." I taunt, grinning as he drops me on the ground. I land on my feet, my arms unhooking from around his neck. "Go take a swim. That should help." I begin to make my way towards the others, exiting the cave, and I squint at the sunlight beaming down on me.

Suddenly, I felt a sting on my back, and I jumped, turning around. JJ was standing there, grinning, and my eyes fell to the ground. It was my hair tie. I quickly picked it up and put it around my wrist.

"Gotcha!" JJ proudly spoke before taking off his tank top and running towards the ocean.

"Jokes on you; I need this anyways!" I yelled back before tying up my hair as I approached the others. I was going to get him back when he least expected it. 

I smiled, though, because I felt free out here.

IM SO EXCITED! The first 8 and 51 seconds are up and I'm going to keep rewatching it until S3! ALSO S4?! What?! How dare they announce season 4 when season 3 hasn't been released yet! But I'm so excited. So does that mean they didn't get the gold????
