Chapter 7: Mothers love always hits different
"Is this a time to come?" Ram questioned, staring at the two in disbelief.
Annapurna and Sujata rushed towards the two, hugging them tighter while crying on their chests. No words were coming out of their mouths, only tears that were speaking on their behalf, making their feelings known to Sanskaar and Lakshya.
"You know I hate seeing you cry." Lakshya uttered, breaking the hug as he stared at his mother, who places her hand over his cheek.
"I missed you. . ." Sanskaar softly whispered to Sujata, sounding emotional, reciprocating to the hug and closing his eyes.
"No time for family drama. I need some answers." Durga Prasad interrupted in a stern tone, starting to get agitated watching all that.
Lakshya shook his head. "First Maa. . . You can wait."
Durga Prasad rolled his eyes, feeling irritated, not bothering to stand there to watch the family drama and he stormed off, followed by Ram.
"Bhai. . ." Uttara sobbed with a smile, walking towards the two while Adarsh merely watched them, curling a small faint smile over his lips.
*
"First Maa. . ." Durga Prasad mocked, remembering Lakshya's words and faced Ram. "They ruined our whole plan."
"Despite us telling him to stay in the dark, he went in front of the media, with Lakshya and spilled the beans. People will now start suspecting us!" Ram exclaimed frustratedly, feeling immense anger boiling inside them.
"I do not know how to react right now. Should I be happy the two returned or mourn over the fact that we will now be listed as suspects? Those boys have no common sense, or a brain. Our whole effort is now down the gutter!" Durga Prasad sighed, clenching his fists, having the urge to beat Sanskaar and Lakshya up.
"Maybe if you shared your plan with us, we would've considered halting our mind."
Ram and Durga Prasad scoff in displeasure, hearing Sanskaar, as the two enter with Adarsh.
"You two have no common sense do you? The plan Papa and Chachu made, has now made a whole turn." Adarsh insulted as he blinked at Sanskaar and Lakshya.
"When we tell you something, it doesn't mean we're trying to stop you, it means we already have something in mind! Did you not bother realising that?" Ram uttered, starting to argue with the two.
"When I asked you what the plan was, you said leave it on us. How was I meant to know if your plan was solid or a way to failure?" Sanskaar asked, insulting Ram, angering him.
"Is this why you phoned the media and told them? So that we could tell you our plan. . . We will never tell you our plan!"
"Then we will do what is best for us."
"Enough!" Durga Prasad interrupted, yelling as he stared at Sanskaar and Lakshya.
"For these 6 months, we have spent sleepless nights trying to figure out how the accident happened. We had no clue to begin with, other than finding out the breaks were meddled with. We had been shocked, disheartened and disturbed after failing to find Lakshya and hearing you slipped into coma. We declared it as an accident, and as a serious case of one death and one brain-dead patient, so that whoever did this could relax and make one wrong move to make us suspect him. So far we have two suspects, who we keenly have under observation. Now your claim in front of the media must've frightened them back into hiding!"
"What was your plan?" Sanskaar asked, looking at Durga Prasad who closed his mouth.
"Before you woke up. . . We planned to. . ." He was feeling uneasy to say it.
"What?" Lakshya asked, waiting for Durga Prasad to say it.
"To, auction your company." Expressions of Adarsh, Sanskaar and Lakshya dropped into shock as they heard Ram.
"You what?" Both Sanskaar and Lakshya asked, stunned to hear that, feeling their heart skip a beat.
"Well, we had many plans, but two main plans were to auction your company, and to pressure the two suspects into giving us a clue." Ram added, revealing their plan that they wanted to hide.
"Why auction our company?" Sanskaar asked in seriousness, flabbergasted with hearing their pathetic plan.
"So that we could talk to your competitors and see if anyone from that list is behind it. What if our two suspects weren't the only ones?"
"That, plan, is, the most, horrendous, plan, I, ever, heard." Lakshya revealed as he gave Ram and Durga Prasad a look.
"Dirty!" Sanskaar exclaimed, disappointed with their plans.
"Who are your two main suspects?" Adarsh asked, wanting to know.
"Kavita Rane and Sahil Roy."
Lakshya and Sanskaar chuckled, hearing their names. "They have the audacity?" Lakshya asked, now starting to chuckle even more.
Sanskaar's chuckle slightly faded as he remembered Swara's words. "She was shocked at first, not willing to sign it. However after a phone call she did, saying I would bring another contract for her to sign and beg her to do it."
"What was your plan after you found out I was alive and he was awake?" Lakshya wondered as he remembered Sanskaar saying they should be hidden.
Durga Prasad looked at Ram, and Ram sighed.
"To make us ghosts and scare the shit out of your suspects?" He questioned and they merely looked at him, he shook his head in disbelief with a chuckle.
"You ruined our plan."
"It was a shit plan anyways. You wouldn't have gotten anywhere with it. You do know it sounds like you weren't serious about finding out who caused our accident. Were you really not bothered?"
"We tried, but seems like you don't appreciate our effort. It wasn't easy to make up a whole story and feed the police to keep them quiet about the cause of accident. Our plan worked well, after hearing your news, many companies started flapping their wings, as if they were happy you two were down. Most of your deals were signed to Sahil's company, but we didn't give up, we continued running your company behind your backs, not willing to let it die out. After all it was your hard work and effort." Durga Prasad uttered, having Sanskaar and Lakshya's attention.
Lakshya rolled his eyes. "Being emotional doesn't suit you. You should stay cold and heartless."
"I agree, the cold personality is your charm Bade Paa." Sanskaar uttered, agreeing with Lakshya as a Durga Prasad with emotions is cringing for them to see and hear.
Lakshya turned around, walking towards the exit.
"Now leave everything to us. We will find out who it was and why they did that." Sanskaar assured, nodding at Ram and Durga Prasad, turning around to walk out.
*
"Put some Roti in for them."
Uttara sighed and rolled her eyes, taking out two more Roti's to put it in Sanskaar and Lakshya's plate. "This is their third Roti, they won't eat that much."
"Shut up, don't put an evil eye on them. Haven't you seen how weak they've gone." Sujata uttered, shouting at Uttara.
"Yeah, they're the only hungry ones here aren't they." Uttara says and Sujata gives her a look.
"Then sit down and help yourself."
"Wow, this is inequality. You do his plate with love and don't even care about me." She complained and Sujata made a face. "You have been eating this every day for the past 6 months, he hasn't had any food. Coma patients don't eat do they?" Uttara was quiet, loosing against Sujata as she had made a very good point.
"Don't be sad, I'll make your plate." Annapurna says with a smile, putting food into another plate for Uttara.
"Badi-Mom, I love you." She says with a grin and sticks her tongue out at Sujata, who rolled her eyes.
Lakshya headed towards the dining table after washing his hands, he inhaled the aura of the food and let a small smile hang from his lips.
"Hurry and take your seat before someone else steals it." A sudden kiddish voice plays around in his mind and his smile slowly disappeared, he felt dullness spread within him, wanting to unknowingly frown.
"Lakshya. . ." He turned his head to the side, seeing Sanskaar standing next to him. "Are you okay?" Lakshya nodded his head positively.
"Just remembering how their food tastes, I haven't had it for a long time, so I'm excited."
Sanskaar smiled as he inhaled a deep breath, instantly feeling hungry. "Let's go eat."
Lakshya nodded and the two headed towards the table, taking a seat.
Annapurna and Sujata give them their food plate, decorating it just the way they like it. Sanskaar swallowed as the mouses in his stomach began dancing. Lakshya glanced down at the food plate, seeing non-veg on his plate and scoffed.
Without wasting anymore time thinking, Sanskaar began eating with his hands.
"What happened, you don't like it?" Annapurna asked as she looked at Lakshya, who wasn't eating.
Lakshya shakes his head, starting to eat and Uttara looks at Sanskaar. "You're eating with your hands?"
"Just let him eat." Sujata uttered, tapping Uttara's shoulder. Uttara made a face, continuing to eat.
After taking a bite, Lakshya started to cough and took the glass of water kept near him, drinking it. Sujata and Annapurna stared at him with concern. After putting the cup down, he cleared his throat.
"What happened Laks?" Sujata asked and Lakshya shook his head.
"Tell us. . ." Sanskaar insisted and Annapurna placed her hand over his shoulder worriedly.
"It's nothing. . . I just remembered I'm Non-Veg."
"You ate meat?" Lakshya nodded at Uttara, shocking everyone. "At first I didn't like it, but during those 6 months, I ate fish the most. And you know how I'm not used to spicy food, they fed me food lathered with spices. Now this tastes bland."
Sujata and Annapurna were stunned to hear Lakshya, while Lakshya travelled back into the memory, having a small flash of the day he ate spicy.
"Ahhhh!" He screamed, inhaling and breathing, unable to tolerate the spiciness of the food.
"Are you okay?"
"It's too spicy!" He screamed, panting as his tongue burned.
The kids sat with him, blinked at him in surprise while she heads towards him with water. He took the glass and sipped the water. After finishing the water, his tongue was still burning.
"Ahhh. It hurts. It hurts!"
"I didn't even make it spicy. . ." She trialled off confusingly, looking at the kids, who take a bite to taste it and nod at her, finding it right.
"Loki, are you from here?" One of the kid asked and he looked at him. "What do you mean?"
"This isn't even spicy."
"It is!"
She and the kids shook their heads in disbelief and she passed him another glass of water, he took it and gulped it down.
"Wait, put it inside your mouth and leave it for a bit to cool the tongue." She advised and he nodded, taking a huge sip to hold it in his mouth.
"Shall I make something else?" Annapurna asked and he was brought back from his memory land, shaking his head. "I'm fine." He started to eat again.
