Chapter 6: Called It A Night
Ragini yawned, standing near the door, slamming her phone against her palm. Soon her phone flashed and she glanced down at it.
'I won't be home for another hour.' Ragini sighed. "What type of bosses are they, how can they keep her at 11:30?" Ragini whispered to herself, turning to see Sharmishta standing in front of her.
"What happened, why are you here?"
"I was just wating for Swara."
"Oh. . . Is she still not back?" Ragini shook her negatively and Sharmishta looked on. "Where is this girl. . ." Sharmishta worried, glancing at the clock on the wall, checking the time.
"She messaged saying she will be another hour."
Sharmishta shakes her head negatively, "I guess her bosses coming back turned out to be a negative thing."
Ragini passed her a small smile, "Shomi Maa. . . Will you be okay with sleeping with Maa?"
Sharmishta nodded at her with a smile. "Why wouldn't I be okay? She's already sleep and you worry less, I don't mind staying in the same room as her. It's actually quiet cool."
"I'm glad." She softly says and Sharmishta places her hand over Ragini's cheek. "Go take rest, otherwise you'll get dark circles."
Ragini chuckled, nodding her head at Sharmishta.
"You take rest too." Sharmishta nodded, starting to walk away and Ragini slowly headed towards a room.

"Where are they?" Annapurna worriedly questions, discomforted with them not appearing in front of her eyes.
"I don't know why my heart is shaking Jiji, I want them in front of me now. I can't see them leave us again." Sujata worriedly utters, holding her left chest, trying to console her uneasy heart.
Annapurna swallowed, starting to get negative thoughts in her mind, she shakes her head, arguing with her inner voice. "No, nothing will happen to them. They will be back, safe and secure."
Sujata looked at Annapurna, nodding her head positively. Trying to find peace with her words, wanting to be assured.
"Jiji. . . Do you think, Ji and Bhaisaa were behind the accident?" Sujata asked, not being able to hold the thought inside her, startling Annapurna.
"Sujata, how can you say such a thing. Why would they do this to their own sons? Are you in the right state of mind?"
"I hate to say this, but Jiji why, did they lie about Sanskaar being brain dead. Why do they look unhappy with Lakshya being alive and them returning? Why are they so angry? Why did they hide the fact that this wasn't an accident but a murder? They weren't surprised at all, which means they knew it was an attempted murder. . . They kept us in dark."
Annapurna's heart skipped a beat, as this thought that once haunted her was becoming a proven suspicion. She wanted to turn deaf and a blind eye as her heart ached thinking about what Sujata had said.
"Mom, what are you saying?" Sujata turns her head to the side, finding a stunned Uttara standing behind her.
**
"They said by tomorrow everything will be deleted and gone. But Mr Bose isn't willing to cancel the contract, saying he will sue us." The manager, Mr Talvar uttered, standing in front of Sanskaar and Lakshya, who nod.
Sanskaar and Lakshya sigh, trying to keep their emotions calm. They merely blink at everyone.
"Okay. Good work everyone." Sanskaar complimented and they nodded at him to say 'thank you'.
"Since you stayed late, you can start at 11 tomorrow." Lakshya uttered and everyone smiled. "This is what you expected us to say right?" Their smiles faded. "If you don't make it on time then who's going to do the work? Every second counts, so I want you all in the office by 10:30." They slowly shake their heads at him.
Even though it was an hour and thirty minutes, it still counted, as long as they don't force themselves to get up and prepare to start working at 9am.
"Everyone's dismissed. . ." Sanskaar trialled off, heading towards the exit, followed by Lakshya.
The lift door opened and the two entered, closing it. As soon as it was closed, everyone dropped their posture, frustratedly rubbing their hair.
"I love my job but I hate them!" They complained, making faces and Swara, who was extremely tired walks towards the lift, wanting to go home as soon as possible.
*
After examining every floor, the two exited the building and headed towards the entrance gate. A horn grabs their attention and they cock their heads to the side, seeing Adarsh waiting for them inside the car.
They change their directions, starting to walk towards him.
"Adarsh came to pick us up. . ." Lakshya was confused with seeing Adarsh waiting for them.
"He looks angry." Sanskaar uttered in a low tone after scanning his facial expressions.
"This is going to be fun." Lakshya joked, walking towards the other side.
Sanskaar and Lakshya opened the two back seat doors, taking a seat inside. Adarsh grit his teeth, turning around to face them, waiting for them to close the door.
After closing the door, they give him a fake smile. Which clearly looked like they forced it to hang from their lips.
"Why did you come straight here?"
"You know this is our home."
"Home my foot. . . Maa and Chachi haven't ate ever since they heard you were alive, well and coming. They are waiting for you!"
Lakshya and Sanskaar swallowed, looking on. Feeling as if their heart sank after hearing this.
"And do you know how much anger I had to take from Papa. If he finds out I gave the information to the media then he would kill me. I shouldn't have agreed to you if I knew you were going to go this." Adarsh says in irritation, giving them a glare.
"Next time I'm not doing anything for any of you. I can't take being shouted at all the time. I need a break."
"We need you. . ."
"Just shut up!" He angrily exclaimed. "Don't try to guilt trap me with all that family shit. All you two ever did was look down on me." He argued, pointing his finger at them.
"No matter what happens, you'll always be our brother. . ." Sanskaar says in an soft tone, trailing off to calm Adarsh's anger.
"We will always need you."
He sighed, giving them a look. "Cut the bullshit! Maa always says help each other, that's why I help. Otherwise I wouldn't help disrespectful assholes like you who argue with me every time."
"Family always comes first."
"Don't act too friendly with me. If you do then Papa will find out I helped you two. Keep me out of it, now act like I dragged you home." He uttered, turning back around, facing the steering wheel.
Sanskaar and Lakshya scoffed, as they remember the Adarsh they spoke with yesterday.
"You're really alive. . ." He sobbed over the phone, sniffing each time he spoke. "I. . . I can't believe it. Lakshya, Sanskaar, you two will really. . . Be back. . ."
"Will you do it or not?" Sanskaar asked and Adarsh sobbed. "I would. . . Anything for you. I want to see you. . . No matter how much I fight with you, family always comes first."
"Okay. . . Calm down."
"I just. . ." He cried in joy. "I can't believe I'm talking to both of you after 6 months."
"Are you actually crying?" Lakshya asked.
"No. . ." He sobbed, sniffing afterwards. "Why would I cry." He uttered in a low tone, trying to hide it.
"Okay. Bye." Sanskaar disconnected the call and chuckled and Lakshya on the other side of the phone smiled, disconnecting the call.
It was a conference call between the three, who spoke to each other over the phone.
**
"Thank you Sir. . ." Swara thanked the manager who dropped her at her house. He nodded at her, driving off afterwards.
"I'm so tired." She sighed, rushing towards the door.
She unzipped her bag, trying to feel the key, she sighed, turning the flashlight of her phone on, looking inside her bag. After successfully finding the key, she puts it in the keyhole, turning the key to unlock her door.
"It's so cold. . ." She shivered, pushing the door open as she entered. "Thank god." She took her key out and closed the door, locking it.
"It's 12, which means I have 10 hours to relax. Why is my heart sinking? Do I really hate going there this much?" She muttered to herself, placing her hand over her left chest, frowning as she heads towards her room.
She slowly opened the door, making sure it doesn't make sounds and sees Ragini sleeping on the side, she curled a small smile, entering and closing the door afterwards. She takes her earrings off and heads towards the mirror desk, placing it on top of it. She then takes her bangles and necklace off and rushes towards the bed, placing her bag on the floor and taking her shoes off.
"I'm too tired to change." She whispered, laying on the right side of the bed, covering herself with the duvet and closing her eyes.
**
"They're still not here. . . This is ridiculous!" Ram shouts, waiting in the hall with Durga Prasad, Uttara, Sujata and Annapurna.
"What have they been doing for 3 hours. Is it even worth waiting for them?" Durga Prasad questions in disbelief.
"It's absolutely absurd for you to stand in front of the camera and say it wasn't an accident. Do you realise what you have done!" Adarsh shouts as he entered with Lakshya and Sanskaar, grabbing everyone's attention.
Annapurna and Sujata look at Sanskaar and Lakshya with glassy eyes, curling a small smile. Seeing them after a long time was indeed beyond happiness, it felt like the soul of their body had returned.
Sanskaar and Lakshya curl a genuine smile as they blink at their mothers, having a small happiness overwhelm their hearts. Their mothers love, blessings and prayers were the reason why they're still alive, which genuinely moistened their eyes.
