Chapter 5: Back In Action

"Kavita Rane. . ." Lakshya trialled her name off as he looked at an irritated Sanskaar.

"With who's permission did you cast her?" Sanskaar sternly, throwing this question at everyone.

"What happened?" The manager asked, getting a little worried.

"You tell me, what happened!" This time Sanskaar yelled, loosing his patience. "Two deals lost, and Kavita Rane as our main model. With exactly who's permission did you decide!"

"Sir. . ." The manager was completely shivering. "Your fathers . . Said to choose her." He managed to complete, closing his eyes as he unpleasantly steps a little back.

"Who are they?" Lakshya questioned, this time sounding stern. "Did we not make it clear that Kavita Rane was off our model list?"

"You. . ." Sanskaar looked at Swara, who's heart was rapidly beating against her chest in fright. "Didn't I tell you to cancel all our contracts with Kavita. . . So why is she the main model for our new deal?"

"Sir. . ."

"Why is Kavita our main model?" Sanskaar asked again, looking at Swara.

"I. . ." Swara couldn't respond, how is she supposed to say she wasn't in the office for 6 months, or that she wasn't bothered working.

"I don't want to hear you stuttering. I want an answer. Despite knowing everything that happened, why is she our main model!"

"I don't know."

"Why don't you know?"

"I did cancel all the contracts with her, but I don't know how she became the main model."

"Coming back alive to see that bitch with our baby, is it for real?" Lakshya was super angry, that he did not even care about the language he used. He was disappointed, annoyed and in disbelief after hearing Kavita Rane was the main model, he exhaled a sigh, rubbing his head in distress. He took a small breath "I want that Ad gone from every single platform because I swear if I see it anywhere, I would fire everyone!" He threatened in a cold tone, sending shivers to the employees, who began to follow his orders immediately.

"You two follow me!" Sanskaar exclaimed in frustration as he looked at Swara and the manager, heading in a direction.

Swara turned, making a face as she followed Sanskaar and the manager, who was disheartened with their anger.

Lakshya slid his phone out, realising he has a new phone he frustratedly clenched. "What's Durga Prasad's number?"

*

Sanskaar stormed inside his cabin, facing the manager and Swara afterwards. "There are no excuses for both of you to argue back with us over this matter." He sternly uttered, passing a serious look to Swara and the manager.

"On the day of departure, I phoned you and Lakshya came into the office to grab a file and we told you Kavita is off our models list, so why did you listen to someone else and assign her to our NEW project! Didn't you receive direct orders from me and Lakshya! Should I take this as carelessness towards work? Or a fun way to mock us? Despite making it crystal clear you still went ahead with finalising Kavita with this deal. . . Why?"

The manager swallowed his spit in fright, "We're extremely sorry sir." He apologised, falling into Sanskaar's feet. "Ram Sir and Durga Prasad Sir gave us orders to cast Kavita, we refused but using their authority over us, they compelled us to work with Kavita."

Sanskaar inhaled a deep breath frustrated yet wanting to stay calm. "I was afraid I would get fired, so we went ahead with it. We were waiting for you but after hearing about the accident, we had no choice but to follow. We're sorry." He continued, bowing his head in front of Sanskaar, who clenched his fists.

"What's your excuse? Why didn't you know how she became the main model?" Sanskaar looked at Swara, who was terrified as she had no answers, or excuses.

"I did show them the termination contract, but didn't have the position to argue. . . My job was at stake too. Your accident lowered my authority over making decisions. I'm sorry." She uttered, lowering her gazes, hoping the excuse she instantly thought of with the managers words, would work.

He was angry and irritated with their excuses, which sound reasonable, Lakshya and his accident did give Ram and Durga Prasad unwanted authority over their company.

"Just take that Ad down under any cost." He ordered and the manager nodded his head positively. "Not just the Ad, any traces of Kavita with our design, just burn it." The manager stood up, nodding his head again.

"I won't disappoint you this time sir, I promise to take every single image and video of Kavita down."

Sanskaar merely looked at him as he determinedly walked out to get the job done.

"And you. . ." Swara looked at him, lowering her gazes afterwards. "What can I say to you. It's useless. . . We were with you for a month only, so you followed them like a white sheep." He indirectly insulted her, upsetting her with his comment. "Where is her withdrawal signed document?"

She walked towards the desk, opening the locker and pulling out a bunch of documents, flicking through. Soon she pulled out a document and put the remaining back, closing the locker door afterwards.

"Here." She obediently gave him what he asked for and he opened them, skimming thoroughly.

"I know it was 6 months ago, but did she sign it without causing a drama?"

Swara stared in space while trying to remember. "She. . ." She trialled off, pressuring her mind to remember. "She was shocked at first, not willing to sign it. However after a phone call she did, saying I would bring another contract for her to sign and beg her to do it."

Sanskaar stopped skimming and moved his eyes away from the document.

"This was the day we left for Mumbai. . ." He trialled off, capturing a thought that flew inside his mind, now suspicious with what Swara had told him

*

"You have to be joking. Is this some kind of joke?" Lakshya was disappointed with Durga Prasad, as he revealed the reason.

"I should've just joked with her and allowed his name to be thrown into the dirt, right?"

Lakshya inhaled a breath, not in the mood to speak with Durga Prasad anymore. "What can I expect from you anyways, you're a white sheep following the clan. Let me and Sanskaar be the black sheep." He disconnected the call after insulting his father, shaking his head in disbelief after releasing a small scoff.

"Sir, the producer. . ." An employee walked towards Lakshya, grabbing his attention and forwarded his phone. Lakshya took the phone, answering it.

"Sir, the Newspaper company. . ." Lakshya turned around, seeing the other employee with the phone.

"Give it to Sanskaar. . ." Lakshya uttered and the employee nodded, heading to a direction.

"Hello, Mr Bose. . . Hi, I'm Mr Talvar speaking from MC, Kolkata, I would like to cancel our contract with your Model, Kavita Rane." The manager spoke while sitting down on the chair, over the phone, determined to fix this for Sanskaar and Lakshya.

"Do you realise who you're speaking to right now?" Lakshya questioned over the phone, walking forward while the employee followed.

"Let me jog your memory a little. These 6 months must've been going easy for you. . . Was it because we were missing out? Ahh, I don't regret coming back to ruin it for you. It's me, Lakshya Maheshwari speaking."

"If you don't remove that Ad, I will sue you." He threatened, sensing the fear from the caller's side and let a small smirk play over his lips at ease as he disconnected the call.

"Yes. . . Delete all the photos and take the articles down." An employee utters and he disconnected the call, nodding at Lakshya.

"No ones going home till the Ad is down." Lakshya says, walking away and the employees silently cry, yawning tiredly.

As Lakshya entered, Swara straightened her tired posture and Sanskaar looked up while speaking on the phone. "I don't care. If neither mine or Lakshya's signatures are present, would it even make the new contract valid?"

"Every newspaper with Kavita and our MC 3.0 should be gone. It's been a few months, let's keep it down shall we?" Lakshya took a seat on the couch, looking up at Sanskaar.

"It better be." He disconnected the phone straight after, handing it to the employee, who headed out and blinked at Lakshya.

Lakshya chuckled in disbelief. "6 months. . . Only 6 months until we were down and people already started flapping their wings. Looks like we have a lot to cut down."

"Everyone seems to have forgotten what it feels like to have us. . . We need to be back in action otherwise we would loose our positions." Sanskaar utters in a serious yet annoyed tone and Lakshya nods his head, agreeing with him.

Swara tiredly blinks at the two, unhappy with just standing there watching them. Right now, she would've been in bed, maybe even asleep, however now she was back to where she was 6 months ago. In this office with the two biggest jerks she has ever seen.

"Did you read the article about us?" Lakshya asked and Sanskaar looked at him. "Which one?" Lakshya slid his phone out from his pocket, unlocking it and pressing on google. He typed 'Sanskaar Lakshya' and searched, pressing on the top article. He turned his phone screen towards Sanskaar, who leaned forward and took his phone to read it.

"They're back, claiming their accident was an attempted murder. Is there really someone who wants them dead, if so then who is it?" Swara looked on as Sanskaar was reading. He smirked, passing Lakshya his phone back. "The ones who did it should be shaking."

'It wasn't an accident?' Swara's mind spoke, shocking her as it continued to think about it.
