(okay so here's the legit part two but I cannot guarantee it'll be as good as the totally not april Fools one okkk have fun with dream husbando, also sorry this took so long I had writers block but now I'm fine and I got it done teeheehee)
"Quirrel?" You were standing at the foot of his door, peering in only slightly, wanting something to do. You had been lying down in your room for a while, and you might have dozed off once or twice. But you were bored now, and wanted someone to talk to.
"Oh, Y/N! Give me one second..." Quirrel says behind the door, his voice calm, but what sounded like frantic paper crumpling was coming from the other side. Before long, though, the door opened and your best friend was sitting there, smiling at you.
"Alright! Come on in, my friend!" He opens the door, bowing like a gentleman as you pass. You laugh.
"You're just too cute sometimes, you know that, right?" You playfully punch Quirrel in the arm after he regains his posture, which causes him to get all flustered again.
"I, well- thank you?" He chuckles, which causes you to laugh once more. You sit down on his bed, your arms behind you to prop yourself up.
"So what's up? Why did Mon keep you back in her office earlier?" You ask, looking at Quirrel as he walks over to you. He sits down on the bed next to you, smiling. But it was an odd smile, you noticed. Something was different about it.
"Just business stuff. Called me a rule breaker a time or two, thanks you Y/N." He rolled his eyes. You tried your hardest not to laugh, but failed.
"Oh come on, you know it's funny." You nudged him with your shoulder. Quirrel sighed.
"I suppose it was a little funny." He gave in. You did a small fist pump in victory, which made Quirrel chuckle. But he gets that odd look on his face again. There's definitely something different, but you have no clue what.
"Oh, right!" He says to himself before turning to face you. "My friend, can I ask you something?" You nod, and your heart starts to beat just a little bit faster. It's not huge, and you can't let him know about it.
"What's your favorite activity?
Dang it.
"Ummm..." You had never been asked that before. You sat there a moment, pondering your answer until you knew how to respond.
"I suppose exploring is. I love finding new clues, and just following wherever my heart leads me. Unless it leads me to death. Then something's definitely wrong." You chuckle at the last sentence, but your voice was dreamy. You longed for more adventure, more places to go and things to do. You had barely been out of the Archives since you got here, because Monomon always had something for you to do. You didn't feel as helpful or useful here than you did out in the unknown. Quirrel's face seemed to light up, as if you had just given him an idea.
"I can see where you're coming from. Exploring is truly where my heart lies as well." Quirrel answered, his gaze flickering from the ceiling to you, then back up.
The two of you sat in silence for a long time, just enjoying the presence of each other. After a while, you could feel Quirrel's fingers just barely brush yours. You didn't mind. It almost made you sad when he finally stood up.
"My friend, I'm going to go retrieve something from the library. Stay here if you want, I don't mind." You nodded, and he opened the door and left. You laid back on his bed, wondering about many different things. All the thoughts swimming in your head caused you to grow tired, and before you knew it you had fallen asleep on Quirrel's bed.

"Thank you, Mon!" Quirrel called back towards her office. He was carrying a small stack of paper, and heading back to his room, almost praying that Y/N had left. He didn't want her knowing what he was trying to put together. He walked over to his room and slowly opened the door, only to find a sleeping Y/N laying halfway across his bed.
"I guess someone was tired." He picked her up and readjusted her so that her head was on his pillow, then pulled the covers up over her.
"Alright. Now I will do what I should have done a while ago." Quirrel pulled out his chair and sat at his desk, pen in hand. He sat there for a long time, writing and carefully crafting six notes that he was going to spread all throughout Hallownest so that Y/N could find them, and feel the thrill of adventuring again. The first one, he slipped into her hand while she was sleeping. He couldn't resist holding her hand for a few seconds, just to see if she would wake, but she still slept peacefully.
The next note was lying across a bed of thorns in Greenpath. He thought that would be fitting because the vine matched the color of her eyes. It took a while to get there, and he got a tad bit scratched up, but it was worth it. See, in all of the notes, he put clues as to where the next one was, but he also pointed out something he liked about her, just to help her warm up to the question he was prepping to ask.
The third note was in Crystal Peak, way up in Hallownest's crown. It gave a beautiful view of Dirtmouth and the kingdoms beyond, which he thought she would enjoy. He stood there, on the edge, for a long while, just loving the slightly breeze that blew past. It truly got Quirrel remembering how much he loved being out and about, just exploring for the fun of it. He couldn't stay for long though, because Y/N could wake up at any point in time, and he didn't want her to catch up to him.
The fourth note was hidden beyond, in Kingdom's Edge. Boy did the Primal Aspids give him trouble, the little stunkers. But he was able to escape alive, and planted the note outside of Nailmaster Oro's hut. Quirrel felt like giving him a visit, since he hadn't seen him in a long while, but he didn't want to waste any more time than he already had.
The fifth note was on the Hollow Knight's monument in the City of Tears. It was truly a beautiful place, filled the sounds of rain and a beautiful voice, but Quirrel did not know where or who the voice was coming from. He sat on the edge of the fountain, enjoying the rain on his skin. This city truly was beautiful, and he wished he could visit it more often. But he had to keep going. Just one more note to go.
The sixth and final note was far down, hiding in the tram of the Ancient Basin. He did not feel like going down any further, for he had heard tales of the horrid creatures that hid down there. But after delivering the final note, he traveled to his final destination, awaiting the arrival of Y/N, hoping that he had done enough.

"Quirrel? Hello?" You sat up, rubbing your eyes and trying to see where you were. You were tucked into Quirrel's bed, but the bug himself was nowhere to be found. You did not want to get up, because the bed was warm and fuzzy, and had Quirrel's scent. But you had to. Before falling asleep, you decided that today was the day you were going to tell him how you felt. It was a dangerous idea, you knew, but you had to do it eventually.
"Hello?" You called, finally arising from the mattress and standing. You put one hand up to the door to push it open, but you noticed there was a rolled up piece of paper in your hand. How had you not noticed before? You read it aloud quietly to yourself.
"Y/N, you told me you loved adventuring. So I decided to give you that thrill once more. Your first destination is in an area filled with green undergrowth, and your first clue is on a thorny vine, that matches the color of your beautiful eyes. Find that, and it'll tell you where to head next. Your friend, Quirrel." After reading the note, you stood there, jaw wide open. He had done all this, just for you?
You placed the note in a small bag you found on the ground, putting the strap over your head and grabbing your nail from your room. You were going to find Quirrel, no matter how long it took.
"Alright Y/N, you got this. Its time to get back out there. This is going to be fun."
(hrmhrmhrm hope you like ahaha, sorry there aren't many sweet moments but there will be in part three so yeet bye my lovelies)
