8: Kidnapped
Ichigo's Point of View
"Soten Kisshun!" Orhime brought out her hairpins just in time. Her yellow shield formed right in front of us and Yajimaru's sword bounced right off it.
The shield disappeared and her six flowers went back to her pins. "Thanks Orhime," I said.
She nodded. Evie growled, "Don't you ever give up?"
Instead of answering her question, at least a dozen more people, including Mrs. Mesu, appeared out of nowhere, all holding swords at the ready. Their spiritual pressure felt wrong.
"Half-beings," Evie mumbled, confirming what I guessed.
Evie transformed into her suit, I pulled out my combat pass and left my body, Uryu brought up his left arm and created his bow, Orhime held on to her pins and Chad transformed his arms.
No more words were exchanged. The half-beings charged at us and we started fighting. I was battling Mrs. Mesu and I could see Evie was battling Yajimaru. It was clear that he was the leader. Uryu was firing arrows at anyone who dared to try to attack him, Chad was fighting against one half-being and Orhime used her Soten Kisshun against anyone who thought to attack one of our unguarded backs.
We didn't fight for very long, but the seconds felt like hours. If we weren't so outnumbered, time probably wouldn't feel like it was stretching.
Mesu tried to stab me in the side, but I dodged it just in time.
I knew I didn't have much of a choice, so I started gathering my spirit energy. Then I shouted one word: "Bankai!"
In my burst of sprit energy, my zanpakuto shrunk to my bankai. "Tensa Zangetsu." I introduced. "Getsuga Tenshou!" I used against Mesu but I only caught her sword arm.
She swung at me, but winced. I easily blocked her and, with the hilt of my sword, knocked her to the ground.
Before I could do anything else, I felt the stabbing pain as someone's sword pierced me in the back.
"Agh!" I grunted. I turned around and swiped at the half-being that attacked me.
"Ichigo! Are you alright?" Orhime asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine," I said.
I heard rustling from behind me. Was Mesu getting up? Uryu fired an arrow right behind me and the rustling stopped.
I dodged another swing from my opponent and counterattacked.
"Cry, Benehime!" a familiar voice shouted and a red spirit attack took out a couple of our opponents.
Yoruichi came and knocked out two half-beings.
"Reign over the frosted heavens, Hyouinmaru!" An ice dragon formed and took out half our opponents. That left six half-beings. The battle field levelled out.
"Have no fear!" Kisuke grinned stupidly. "We're here!"
They joined the fight immediately, as if they were there from the start.
I noticed that everyone had switched opponents at least once, except for Evie, who was still battling Yajimaru.
I took a swing at my opponent and through the corner of my eye, I saw a familiar sight. Evie and Yajimaru were charging each other, Evie with zaiphon, Yajimaru ready to enter Evie's mind.
"Watch out Evie!" I shouted, but I was too late. Yajimaru commanded sleep, and Evie went limp. Yajimaru caught her before she fell to the ground.
I tried to run to her to help, but my opponent, sensing my guard was down, took advantage and caught my shoulder.
Using my blade, I pulled his sword out of my shoulder and knocked him to the ground, hopefully for good. I turned to Yajimaru and saw him trying to back away, carrying Evie's unconscious body in his left arm, and smiling wickedly.
I ran to stop him, when he cried, "Half-beings, lets go!" Then all of the half-beings left with no trace of anyone's spiritual pressure.
"Dammit!" I shouted at no one in particular.
Then I turned around and saw the damage. Uryu managed to avoid getting scratched up. Blood was trickling down from Chad's left cheek and above his right eye and his clothes were a little shredded. Orhime was completely fine, no half-being reached her. Yoruichi, Kisuke and Toshiro have a couple of cuts, but not many because they weren't in the fight long enough.
"Where's Evie?" Orhime asked nervously.
"Not here," I answered glumly. "Yajimaru took off with her."
"And you didn't stop him?!" Uryu shouted.
"It's not like I had a choice!" I yelled back. "Once he had her, he teleported!"
"Calm down," Kisuke stopped any further arguing. "What's done is done. Right now, we should focus on getting healed and figuring out how we're going to save her."
Me and Uryu calmed down because we knew we didn't have a choice.
Orhime quickly healed all of us. Then I got out of my Bankai, climbed back into my body and we headed to Kisuke's shop.
Evie's Point of View
"Ahh!" I shouted into the darkness. "I'm here again?!"
I was waiting to come across Rachel or Michelle, but so far, I saw no other signs of life. I also tried to light up the place like last time, but that didn't work. I guess I need Rachel to enter my inner world.
I kept floating around. I tried swimming gestures to move quicker, but that didn't work. I'm stuck floating around, hoping one of the Eyes decides to show up.
I looked ahead, and I thought I saw two people. "Rachel! Michelle!" I screamed. "Is that you?" I saw them turn their heads in my direction. I started flapping my arms towards them, hoping I would move faster. And in case your wondering, no, that didn't help.
After five minutes of that attempt, I stopped, panting. There wasn't any point in tiring myself.
After another ten minutes, I finally reached them. Rachel looked relieved, Michelle looked angry.
"There you are!" Rachel exclaimed.
Michelle slapped me in the face so quickly, I didn't get a chance to see it. I staggered back.
When I righted myself, I lifted my right leg and kicked her in the side. Michelle flew a few feet back, but I didn't care. Now I was mad. "What the heck was that for, you bastard?!" I yelled at her.
"Guys," Rachel said softly.
Michelle came back to me and we started fighting, but this time, I was prepared. "For getting us here, idiot! How could you get us here again?!"
"Guys, stop," Rachel spoke a little louder.
"It's not like I could stop it! I forgot how Yajimaru entered my mind!"
"Enough!" Rachel yelled. Rays of her angry spirit energy was radiating off of her.
Me and Michelle both cowered a little. Rachel didn't get mad often and normally keeps a cool head, but when she is angry, even Michelle fears her.
Rachel had gotten angry one other time.
The first time Rachel got mad, it happened about seven years ago, when I was ten. I had fought a hollow, and the three of us nearly died. If one of the Eyes were to be devoured by a hollow, they would be lost to the world forever, so naturally, Michelle got mad at me.
Michelle kept on hitting me mentally, and yelling at me. I was only ten, and the Eyes, who were the only two that were with me my entire life and helped me grow up, never yelled at me. I was already shaken up from the fight with the hollow, simply because I had been so sure that I was going to die. Michelle's yelling didn't help my state, so I ended up crying. I don't normally cry, it was pretty rare when I actually did.
Rachel, scared by my crying, got angry with Michelle for making me. She started ranting on and on how it wasn't my fault, I was only ten, I never really went through any proper training. Rachel's anger became so serial, her power almost started leaking into me.
After Rachel calmed down, Michelle apologized and promised to try to be calmer.
"Evie, light up your world again!" Afraid, I quickly imagined the place lighting up, and once again, we entered my inner world. Rachel turned her glare to Michelle. "Michelle, you were worried sick about Evie, too. You don't greet people by slapping them in the face!" I smirked at Michelle until Rachel turned to me. "And you shouldn't have hit her back! We're partners, and violence isn't the answer to everything!"
Me and Michelle took a step back, waiting for Rachel to calm down.
In what my guess was three minutes, Rachel finally did. Then she turned to me. "What do you mean, you forgot how Yajimaru entered your mind?"
I shrugged my shoulders. "Exactly what it sounds like. For some reason, when he gets ready to enter my mind, the world freezes and I can't see what he's doing."
Rachel looked off in thought. "Must be another side effect."
"I think I should wake up and find out where I am," I said.
Michelle nodded in agreement. "Just be careful. I didn't sense the half-beings leave us."
"Alright."
I closed my eyes and concentrated. When I opened them again, I found myself in a cell. It was dark in my cell, so I didn't see many details. There was some light on the other side.
"Took you long enough," a bored voice said.
I screamed. I didn't see anyone, or sense any spiritual pressure. "You shouldn't watch a women sleep!"
I looked around and saw the owner of the voice, on the other side of the bars. He only shrugged. "So what?"
I couldn't see his face in the dark, so I wasn't sure if I knew this half-being.
I didn't recognize his voice, and now that I could feel his spirit energy, I noticed that he was new.
I sat up and leaned against the wall. "So, what do you want?" I asked calmly, my beating heart calming down.
He sighed miserably. "Guard duty. It doesn't make sense though. I suck at fighting. Yajimaru keeps telling me once I become a perfect being, my fighting abilities will increase." He looked up at me. "Don't bother trying to escape though. The cell is made of a rock called seki seki. It's really rare, and spirit attacks don't work on it." I wasn't actually thinking such thoughts, but it was nice of him to tell me ahead of time before I made a fool of myself.
"So, what's your name?" I asked. "In case you didn't know, I'm Evie Ressello."
He slumped against the wall. "I'm Hanbu Ariamasu."
"So half-beings do have first names," I teased. This was the first time I heard one. Then I rubbed my eyes. Dammit, I'm going to fall asleep again.
He stepped into the light and I finally got a good look at him. He looked to be about my age, was about a head taller than me like Ichigo, and he had black shaggy hair that tickled the top of his ears and eyes. He was wearing a white t-shirt and dark blue jeans. He didn't look angry at my teasing, more like excited.
"Nobody here ever makes fun of me. Everyone is to serious. So why did you?"
I shrugged my shoulders. "Because I felt like it, I guess. How old are you?"
He looked to the right, avoiding eye contact, like he was nervous. "I'm forty," he said so quietly that I almost didn't hear him.
"Forty?" I asked to make sure I heard right. He nodded quickly. I burst out laughing. "Wow! You're really young!"
He looked down as if ashamed. I suddenly felt bad. Why was I having pity for the enemy?
"Listen, Hanbu, if it makes you feel better, technically, I'm the youngest one here."
He looked up. "Yeah, I guess your right."
He turned away from me, but I saw something that caught my eye. I got up and rushed to him.
Don't call me a pervert or anything, but I grabbed the bottom of his shirt and pulled it up until a saw the entire scar that caught my eye. It was about half the size of my arm. I touched it and Hanbu winced away, forcing me to let go of his shirt. There was some blood on my finger. The wound was fresh.
"Where'd you get that scar?" I asked.
He turned away, ashamed. Does this kid have no pride or something?
"Here, let me heal it."
He didn't protest.
It took a while, but I was able to create a small mount of healing zaiphion. My tiredness and the seki seki didn't help.
I lifted his shirt again and placed the zaiphion against the scar.
When it was healed, I slumped against the wall, exhausted.
Hanbu looked at me in wonder. "Why did you heal me?"
"I don't know. How did you get the scar?" I slide myself to the ground.
"Are you alright?"
"I'm fine." I lied.
"You should go to sleep."
"Not until you tell me how you got that scar."
Hanbu hesitated, but then he said, "Yajimaru. He's technically my parent. He actually stole me from my real ones a while ago. When I don't do something right, he punishes me."
I lied down on the ground. "He sucks."
"I know." This was the last thing I heard before I fell into a dreamless sleep.

Hey! I kidnapped Evie. Don't worry, I don't plan on ending this fan fiction too soon.
Is it bad that I fell in love with Hanbu? He's my own fictional character and he's the enemy. I feel like it's bad. It was makes me doubt whether or not I should kill him. This choice is difficult.
Anyways, I didn't make this authors note to babble on with nonsense. I just wanted to thank
Darkangell666 for voting for my chapters
and thank
MNotlyBunnyJr for voting and commenting.
I know its nothing, but it meant a lot to know that someone does enjoy my story.
I should get back to my story (and probably fall in love with Hanbu even more). Feel free to
Vote
and
Comment!
