1: Meeting the New Hunter ~UNEDITED~

Ichigo's Point of View

Some days, I think I need to pay more attention to where I'm going. Like today, for example. I was walking in the school halls first thing in the morning, like I always do, when I accidentally bumped into a new student. She feel to the ground, uttering a quiet, "Oof." Both of our books fell to the ground with a loud thunk, causing students to look in our direction in confusion.

"Sorry," I said on instinct. "Are you alright?" I crouched beside her and helped her pick up her stuff, though it wasn't a lot.

"Yeah, I'm fine," she stated with a nod. "It's my fault anyways."

When we both held our books again, we stood up and I got a good look at her. Long, brown hair was pulled back into a ponytail, her purple eyes were studying me. She wore the school uniform, but she added her own touch to it by wearing a pair of black fingerless gloves. There was an off feeling coming around her, one that I couldn't quite place.

"Are you new here?" I asked, just to make conversation.

She nodded. "I'm Evie Ressello. I'm in class 1-3."

"Really? That's my class. I'm Ichigo Kurosaki."

"That's perfect! I'm a little lost. Can you show me the way?"

"Yeah, sure." I lead the way to the classroom. Deciding to avoid awkward silence, I questioned, "So, what's with the gloves? They don't go with the uniform."

"Oh, these?" She put up her right hand, clutching her books to her chest. "They're a... fashion statement." I noticed the hesitation in her voice, but chose not to question her on it.

After we walked into the classroom, I nodded towards my friends. "Those are my friends, if you need anything else."

"Thanks," she said, her eyes scanning their face. "See ya around." She walked to the back of the room while I went to my friends.

"Hey, Ichigo!" Orhime said. "Who was that?"

"That was the new girl, Evie. She was lost, so I helped her get here."

"Something seems off about her," Uryu stated.

I nodded in agreement. "I just can't figure out what, though."

"I'm sure it's nothing!" Keigo stated, waving off our concerns.

"I hope so," I mumbled before the bell rang and we moved towards our seats.

After everyone had sat down, Evie found an empty seat in the back corner, the opposite of where I was. It was one of the few empty seats, so I guess she just didn't want to draw attention to herself.

"Alright, you must be wondering who I am and where your normal teacher is. Your teacher had a little... accident, and won't be coming in for a while. I am your substitute teacher, Mr. Yajimaru. Now, take out your math textbooks, open to page 193, and answer questions 2-13."

After he gave us our instructions, he just sat down and read some book, as if we didn't exist.

Who was this man? The spiritual energy emitting off of him felt off. Not like Evie's. His felt wrong.

Halfway through class, my combat pass went off. And if my imagination wasn't playing tricks on me, Evie's right hand was glowing.

"Uh, sir," she stood up. "Can I go to the bathroom?"

Yajimaru sighed. "Alright. Who wants to show her the way?"

"But-"

"I'll go!" I interrupted her.

Why was Yajimaru smirking? "Alright, you can go."

Before Evie could object anymore, I pushed her out the door.

In no time, we were in front of the girls' bathroom.

"You can find the way back yourself, right?" I asked.

She nodded. "Thanks." She went inside without saying anything else.

I ran in the opposite direction of the classroom. Once I was outside, I used my combat pass and pushed myself out of my body. Then I hid it.

I flashed stepped to where I felt the spiritual energy from the hollow.

The hollow had a normal looking mask and was similar to a dragonfly. I went straight at it and was about to cut its mask when its tail came straight at me extremely fast. I didn't have time to move out of the way. The tail connected to my side and I went flying into a nearby building.

The room was empty, so I didn't have to worry about anyone being hurt. I got up and looked at the hollow. What the? It was making a cero! But this hollow wasn't a menos.

Just before it fired, some ninja jumped right in front of me, in front of the line of fire.

Instead of being killed though, it seemed that the ninja absorbed the attack.

Then the ninja went charging at the hollow. Just like with me, the tail attacked her before she had a chance to move. She crashed right on me.

"Are you alright?" I groaned from underneath her.

She nodded and stood up. We walked to the edge of the building and watched the hollow. It looked like it wasn't really here to cause damage, or devour souls. It kind of felt more like a test someone set up...

"We're going to have to work together," I said to the ninja.

She nodded, I guess knowing we didn't have a choice.

She moved to the front of the hollow, me to the back. Somehow I knew that she was going to distract the hollow while I cut off its tail.

It was about to attack her, so I jumped in the line of fire and cut off its tail. The ninja brought out a red sword from a red orb in her right hand. It kind of looked like it was made of Reishi, like Uryu's bow. She attacked the hollow, and it disappeared.

We went down to the ground. "Thanks for your help," I said.

She put her hand up, waved good-bye, and left.

"Hey, wait!" I shouted, but I was too late. I sighed. Oh well.

I flash stepped away.

Evie's Point of View

I was right. Ichigo is a soul reaper. Although, he does have strange marks on him that he doesn't when in his body. The question that remains, what are his friends? I see spirit ribbons differently than soul reapers. They just see red and white. I see more than that. When I first met Ichigo, I unintentionally saw his red spirit ribbon. They show up when I don't focus on keeping them away. His tall friend, his was white and green. I knew he was a Fullbringer, a human with hollow powers. Hollows have green spirit ribbons, and I met a Fullbringer before, so I knew what his tall friend was. The girl, her's was white and purple. The one with glasses, his was white and blue. I knew that the white meant they were humans, but I never met anyone with purple or blue spirit ribbons.

That hollow back there was unnaturally fast. The fastest one I've, and past vessels, have ever seen.

I can't believe Mr. Yajimaru let Ichigo show me to the bathroom, although I was lucky he did. I growled inwardly to myself. Yajimaru.

What's wrong Master? Rachel asked in my head.

"Oh, nothing," I mumbled. "Just that Yajimaru followed us here."

What?! I flinched at the sudden loud voice of Michelle. He followed us all the way here?

"Unfortunately, the creep did."

We were silent the rest of the way to the school.

~~~
I was walking home from school. School had finally ended.
I was about to sneak into my borrowed house, when suddenly Michelle started glowing, letting me know there was a hollow.
It's nearby, Michelle said in my head. I let the Eye's power wash into me. The gloves on my hands unraveled and went onto the rest of me, only leaving my eyes and hands free. I looked down at the Eyes in my hands. They were both orbs that looked like they wanted to get out of my hands, but my skin held on, refusing to let go. Michelle, in my right hand, was red. Rachel, in my left, was blue.
I followed Michelle's directions, and found the hollow in a park. Collecting Reishi in the surrounding area, I made a red sword form from the red orb in my hand.
I charged straight at the hollow, hoping to make this quick. I grabbed the Reishi right in front of the hollow, and used it to pull myself forward.
I was about to put my sword through the mask, but then a third hand I didn't know he had came out and pinned me to the ground.
"Dammit," I grunted underneath the weight. Then, he picked me up, and started crushing me, breaking my arms.
Master! Rachel and Michelle screamed in my head, but their voices were getting quieter as I lost my connection with them.
"Michelle! Rachel!" I screamed. I watched my suit unravel, but this time it didn't go back on my hands, like it usually did. It went into the air, disappearing. I lost them.
Before I could do anything else, the hollow threw me. I crashed into a tree, and I heard my spine crack. I couldn't feel anything, so I wasn't sure if it was broken.
Spots started dancing in my line of sight. The last thing I remembered before I passed out was a familiar orange-haired soul reaper running to the hollow, yelling, 'heal her!' before everything went black.
