Danganronpa Easter: Lighthearted Cavort (Platonic Chihiro, Mondo, and Taka)
"3... 2... 1... Go!"
The grass wavered lightly as the boy rushed through it with all the force of a baby gazelle. Chihiro's steps were soft and slightly clumsy, but for once, he didn't really care. He felt spritely. He felt excited. He didn't have any major goal; he didn't sign up for any competitions, and he was just content to frolic about and find any eggs he could. This was an excellent chance to get some sunshine, which was rare in his line of work.
An orange egg with yellow speckles caught his attention on a windowsill. He hopped up, trying to grasp it with his small hands. And then he hopped again. He grunted, disappointed.
Suddenly, Mondo was beside him, crouching down. Chihiro graciously took his place on Mondo's back, used to this situation by now. The added height made him feel an odd sense of pride. None of this was because of himself, but it nonetheless gave a kick of confidence as he clutched the egg. He was all too pleased that it was a confetti egg. Come on, Chihiro. Break it. Break it before he catches onto you and puts you down! His small frame quivered slightly as he applied pressure to the eggshell. And then it shattered in his palm, and Chihiro scattered colored paper all throughout Mondo's pompadour. The next instant, he was forced to dodge around as Mondo attempted to crack an egg on Chihiro's own head.
"Aack! Mondo! Stoooooooppp!" he cried out in the midst of laughter.
"Fuck that! I'm gonna get you back!" Mondo growled. Despite that, it didn't come across as overly intimidating. Chihiro creened his neck, trying to get just out of Mondo's reach. He had to think fast. And then it hit him. Swiftly, he tore the ribbon out of his sweater and sent it fluttering haplessly to the floor.
"Oh no! I dropped it!" he gasped innocently. Just like that, Mondo fell for his trap. He bent down to pick up the ribbon, and, without missing a beat, Chihiro sprinted off. Regardless, Mondo was fierce competition, bounding with intensity toward the small boy.
But salvation was so close that Chihiro could taste it. There he was. Taka. "Taka! Help me!! HELP!!" Chihiro called, grabbing his attention.
Now, Taka didn't like the concept of Easter. It was a day of wasting precious time. It was a day of finding and stuffing your face with very not nutritious snacks. It was disgusting, frivolous, and just...
But then he saw Chihiro, dashing with all of his effort and absolutely beaming. Right behind him was Taka's own bro, with a sly, competitive grin. So he took the boy into his outstretched arms and shielded him, laughing profusely as Mondo slammed a confetti egg onto his own head. And so the three of them spent the day specifically seeking out confetti eggs to annihilate each other with. Chihiro only got his ribbon back at the very end, when they'd all simmered down.
