Happy... Valenprank Day? ~Loucil 2017
3rd Person PoV
Lou Ellen knew that one of her best friends was an overly energetic jerk, but she didn't know how much of an overly energetic jerk he was until he was banging on the Hecate cabin door at six o' clock in the morning.
"Lou Ellen! Come on, we have to go! I've got a plan we could do today! Come on! Come on!" Cecil shouted while he rapidly banged on the door.
"Lou, please make him stop," one of my sisters groaned into her pillow while turning over.
Lou sighed and sat up, rubbing her eyes in an attempt to get the sleep out of them. She walked to the door and threw it open, glaring at Cecil. "What do you think you are doing here? Do you know what time it is?" She hissed.
"Early enough to get a head start on the day! You do know what day it is right?" He said mischievously.
She had to process what he said for a full five minutes before she smiled just as mischievously. "Go get Will and Nico, and I'll meet you guys at the lake in five minutes."
Cecil ran off to the Hades cabin while Lou Ellen closed the door to get dressed. She grabbed a backpack and filled it with the necessities: towels, extra pairs of clothes, spray paint, spell book, magic crystal balls that turned people into piglets, rope, a first aid kit (Will's insistence that everyone should carry one), and a flashlight. She swung the backpack on her shoulder and ran out of the door.
While Lou Ellen was getting ready, Cecil was pounding on the Hades cabin door. He knew Will was going to be in there because of Nico's nightmares, but he forgot one tiny detail. Nico was in there sleeping.
"Whoever the Hades is banging on my door at this gods forsaken hour of the morning is going to wish they had never been born!" Nico shouted.
"Sorry, Neeks! I need Will! Lou Ellen, him, and I have a tradition to uphold. You're free to come as well if you like." Cecil shouted through the door.
Nico let out a string of curse words, and Cecil thought he heard Will muttering something sleepily. Nico said something back, and then everything went silent. A few moments later, Will opened the door, his eyes red with tiredness. "Hey, Cecil. Sorry about Nico-"
"Don't apologize (APOLLOgize XD) for me, Solace! I have every right to yell at him! He woke me up and called me Neeks!" Nico shouted indignantly from inside the cabin.
"I'm sorry about my boyfriend," Will continued with a small smirk. Nico huffed in irritation. "Now what were you going on about?"
"Dude, get a calendar. It's Valentine's Day!" Cecil exclaimed.
Will's eyes widened in shock. "Oh my gods, I completely forgot! I-"
Nico walked to the door with anger etched in his face. "that stupid good for nothing irritating love god! Why would anyone make a whole holiday to celebrate him?"
"Neeks, what are you talking about?" Will asked in concern. Cecil took a few steps back in shock. He had never seen the son of Hades so angry before. Waves of darkness were rolling off of him.
Nico just stood there fuming for a few seconds longer before he spat out, "Go ask Jason if you must know. I'm going to bed. Have fun." Then he walked back into his cabin, muttering something about humiliations, baby cupids, and quite possibly cursing out Hallmark card greetings. At least, that's what Cecil thought he heard before Nico slammed the door shut in Will and his faces.
Will looked at Cecil wearily. He was about to say something when Cecil cut him off. "It's okay. Go talk to him. Lou Ellen and I have this one covered." Will nodded in thanks, and he cautiously opened the door again and slipped inside. Cecil stayed a few seconds longer, and when he still didn't hear his friend screaming in pain from the process of being brutally murdered, he concluded Will was safe. He bounded down the steps and ran to the lake to meet Lou Ellen.
Lou Ellen was sitting on the shore of the lake. She had kicked her shoes off, and she was kicking her feet slightly in the water. When she heard Cecil running up to her, she glanced up with a playful smile. "You're late. Wait, where's Will?" She asked in concern.
Cecil skidded to a halt and gasped for breath. Finally, he managed to get out, "Relationship problems."
Lou Ellen's face went from shock to sadness to rage in a matter of seconds. "Did he hurt Will? Do we have to hurt him? You distract the seven, Reyna, and Coach Hedge. I'll go-"
"Lou, calm down!" Cecil shouted. She still looked like she was going to explode, but she kept quiet. "As far as I know, Will is still alive. Nico just freaked out when I mentioned it was Valentine's Day. Will is talking to him now, but I don't know what his issue is."
Lou Ellen still had a murderous expression on her face, but this time it was directed at Cecil. She dug through her backpack for a second, and Cecil looked at her in confusion. "Lou, what are you-" He began, but he was cut off by a crystal ball flying at him. He barely had time to register what was happening when it smashed at his feet, and he was turned into a guinea pig.
"I can't believe you! You had me worried! That isn't a relationship problem! Poor Neeks. He probably has had a really bad experience on Valentine's Day or something. I'll get him some chocolate later." She said.
Cecil squeaked at her angrily. What he was trying to say was, "Really? Why did you turn me into a guinea pig? You were just plotting Nico's murder two seconds ago, and now you want to give him chocolate? What about out competition with the Stolls? We can't win the pranking competition this year if Will isn't here, and I'm a rodent!"
Of course, Lou Ellen couldn't understand him. She picked him up and cuddled him to her chest. "Aw, you make a cute guinea pig! Don't worry, it'll wear off in a few hours. Come on! We have to go meet up with the Stolls, so we can start the pranking competition!"
She started running back toward the Hermes cabin while Cecil grumbled in irritation. He squeaked something that was supposed to mean, "Girls."
Lou Ellen skidded to a halt in front of the door and knocked rapidly. Travis opened the door with a smirk on his face. "Ready to lose agai- Where is everyone?" He looked around Lou Ellen as if she were hiding Will and Cecil behind her.
Connor came up to the door, and he glanced down at the small rodent in her hands. He looked back up at her and said in exasperation, "Let me guess, Cecil?"
Lou Ellen nodded, and Cecil squealed in outrage. "It could have been Will! Why don't you ever assume it's Will? Why is it always me?"
Travis pet Cecil's small head. "Aw, is little Cecil a guinea pig again?" He cooed. Cecil attempted to bite his fingers, but Travis already pulled his hand away. "I don't see Will though. Did you lose a guinea pig?" He asked Lou Ellen.
She shook her head with a sad sort of smile. "No, he's with Nico. Apparently, Nico doesn't like Valentine's Day, and Will is comforting him."
"Well, I guess that means we have less competition," Connor said smugly. "Not that we wouldn't have won anyways."
"We will win this year! You'll see!" Lou Ellen said with defiance while trying to hold back a smile. Cecil squeaked in agreement.
Travis rolled his eyes. "That's what you say every year, and you guys still haven't won."
"Well, this year is our year. I can feel it." She said.
"Okay, sure," Connor snorted "Remember to keep track of how many successful pranks you pull off, and meet us back here at dinner time to count up the scores."
"Deal," Lou Ellen said mischievously. "See you boys later." She sprinted away with Cecil squealing for his brothers to help him.
Lou Ellen stopped at the dining pavilion and put Cecil down on a table. She took out her spray paint and looked at the rising sun. "Dam I don't have long, and I don't have help." Cecil squealed in order to try and get her attention. She looked over at him, and he rolled onto his back, exposing his tiny feet. "Cecil, this is no time for a tummy rub," She said, laughing and blushing a little, but she didn't know why. Cecil squeaked again and got to his feet. He scampered in little circles before rolling up on to his back again. "What are you trying to tell me?" She laughed again.
Cecil got up on his feet and gave her an annoyed look. "Would you just grab the paint?" He squeaked. To get his point across, since Lou Ellen couldn't understand him, he ran over to her, nudged the can of paint in her hand, scampered around the table, and put his feet in the air.
"Oh! You want me to paint your feet!" She exclaimed. Cecil squeaked in irritation which probably meant Duh! Lou Ellen sprayed the paint on his feet, and together they managed to make all of the tables have painted hearts and tiny foot prints. They were just finishing the Ares table when Clarisse walked into the dining pavilion. Lou Ellen scooped Cecil up, and she ran as fast as she could before Clarisse could see them.
The day went on like that from there. Lou Ellen worked extra hard to pull off all of the pranks she and her friends had planned. Halfway through the day, Cecil finally turned back into a human, and Will and Nico helped trick Percy and Annabeth to go to the lake. Lou Ellen and Cecil then pushed them in, and everyone ran away laughing. By dinner time, they had set a new personal record of pulling off fifteen pranks on Valentine's Day. Cecil and Lou Ellen walked confidently back to the Hermes cabin where the Stoll brothers were standing with smug smiles on their faces. Will and Nico were down by the beach.
"How many did you pull off? I bet it's not as many as we did." Travis said and punched Cecil's arm jokingly.
"We pulled off fifteen today. Not too smug now, are you?" Cecil said with satisfaction.
Travis and Connor looked at each other in a shocked silence. Finally, Travis said, "I can't believe this. We actually tied."
"Doesn't that mean we have to try and prank each other, and someone else has to decide which was the better prank?" Lou Ellen asked.
"Yeah. Should we ask Leo? He is a pretty good prankster." Connor suggested.
Everyone agreed, and they went to go find Leo. Leo agreed to be the judge, and the Stolls and Lou Ellen and Cecil split up. Lou Ellen and Cecil went back to the Hecate cabin in order to form a plan that would hopefully out do the Stolls.
"I've got it!" Cecil exclaimed. "Did you know that Travis likes Katie?"
Lou Ellen's eyes grew wide with shock. "He does! I know Katie likes him back! She told me a week ago!"
"Even better!" Cecil jumped up and rubbed his hands together excitedly. "We can do the same prank that we did on Percy and Annabeth, but instead, we'll shove them together before pushing them into the lake!"
"What will we do to Connor though?" Lou Ellen pointed out.
"We can turn him into a guinea pig. Do you have the crystal balls that last for a day?" Cecil asked.
Lou Ellen's smile grew wider. "You... are a genius. I'll be right back." She got up and ran to the storage closet in the back of the cabin. Cecil turned away to hide his blush.
Soon enough, the two pranksters plan was set. Lou Ellen was in front of the Demeter cabin door and telling Katie that she wanted to show her something by the lake. Cecil was dragging a shocked looking Travis to the lake as well while Connor ran and shouted after them. Connor realized this was probably the prank, but Cecil had told Travis Katie wanted to tell him something very important. When everyone met up by the lake, Connor attempted to drag Travis away from the edge, but Lou Ellen threw her crystal ball at him. During that chaos, Cecil shoved Travis into Katie, and their lips slammed together as they fell into the lake. Lou Ellen picked up Connor the rodent, and Travis and Katie popped up back to the surface.
"I am so sorry!" Travis shouted, his cheeks a deep red, but Katie just grabbed his face and slammed her lips back on to his.
"Well, that's finally done," Cecil said with a laugh, and he and Lou Ellen walked back to the dining pavilion to get some dinner.
When they got back from making their sacrifices, Travis was soaking wet and holding Connor while glaring at the two of them. Katie had her arm around him and was grinning like she had just won the lottery. "Hey, Travis! You really only needed a push in the right direction, so don't look too mad." Lou Ellen said while laughing.
"Just meet me in the Hermes cabin when you're done," he said irritatedly. He then got up from the table and held hands with Katie as they made their way back toward the cabins.
Cecil and Lou Ellen laughed and talked as they ate their dinner and drank the soda from the goblets the camp provided. When they were finished, they walked back to the cabins. It took everything in the both of them not to hold hands. When they made it to the cabin, Travis pulled them inside and closed the door. "Did you guys drink your soda at dinner tonight?" He asked.
Lou Ellen was immediately on guard. "Yes, why? What did you do to them?"
Travis's smug smile grew back on his face. "Oh, nothing much. I just found a truth potion lying around your cabin, Lou. I don't suppose you have a problem with that, now don't you?"
Lou Ellen and Cecil's faces paled. "No. What-?"
"Oh, Cecil dear," Travis cut him off with fake sweetness dripping in his voice. "Would you mind telling me whether it is true or not that you have a major crush on Lou Ellen here?"
Cecil's face grew red with the effort of not saying anything when finally, he said very fast, "Yes. I've had a crush on her since I saw her, but I don't think she would ever like me, and I hate you, you asshole."
Lou Ellen looked at him with shock while Cecil looked down in embarrassment. Travis pumped his fist in the air with victory. "Lou Ellen, do you like Cecil?"
"Yes! Of course I do! You idiot, why wouldn't I like you!" She then grabbed Cecil's face and pulled him into a kiss. For the both of them, it felt like they were the only two people in existence. Fireworks burst in their heads, and everything else was forgotten.
While they were kissing, Leo walked out from behind a corner and whispered in Travis's ear, "I think you win." Then they walked out to leave the new couple in privacy.
