Unexpected Encounters

It has been a few days since the funeral, we all visit his grave from time to time, but most of the others have too much on their plates to be able to visit often. Meaux still has some responsibilities with the Pantheon. Comix is struggling against may of the Batalia council members judgment, who desire to take Tempests technology and companies, still believing him to be a villain. Jair and Will try to smile past it, but they're still crying for the loss of a brother. As for the Creed family, not much has been heard from them. After the funeral, other than their visits to the grave, no one has seen them. I want to be able to help them, but trying to force them to heal will only harm them more, they need time to themselves to accept the wounds before they can heal, I as my dimensions therapist understand that more than anyone else. I decided to take this extra time waiting to visit his grave, it was peaceful, and not a person was in sight, well, except for the two who were hiding behind a conveniently placed tree

Inky: I know you two are there, come out Aursa, Malo

and so the two of them revealed themselves to be just who I thought, Aursa, and her uncle

Maloventernatus, the Source of Evil

Maloventernatus: well well well, I'm surprised you of all people could spot me

Inky: yep, I've always been a wild card to most, mostly because they don't know all that I am capable of

Maloventernatus: you seem, oddly tame, for one face to face with the very source of evil

Inky: not really, I mean, in my opinion, this feels like a normal reaction

Maloventernatus: oh really, and how so

Inky: because if you were out for trouble, you could have easily done by now, and with nobody else here, none would be the wiser, so I would assume your here for another reason

Maloventernatus: and you would be correct in that assumption, while a day will come when you fall at my hand, that day is not today, today, I came to mourn

Inky: yeah, Tempest was really one the few on the light side that you actually had respect towards, heck even most from the light sight were more sceptic than respectful of his methods

Maloventernatus: while I agree to some his methods appear to be... unorthodox, he different than the older heroes of my days, he is of the side of good yes, but he doesn't feed in to their lies either, He is one who I see leading the future

Inky: yeah, I honestly could see that too, he and I, we weren't too different in my opinion. People call us heroes, but we never consider ourselves as one. We save lives but are also willing to commit actions considered villainous to do so

Aursa: aren't you just giving the textbook definition of an anti-hero

Inky; well, yes, but it doesn't change how I felt about relating to him in that sense, but hey, your no different

Maloventernatus: I have no clue what your talking about

Inky: *smirks* oh don't think you can fool me, back during when Adam was alive during our truce, I remember a spirit leading me to a vault during our raid of the boiled blood, leading me to several artifacts of pure insanity that would mess stuff up if in the wrong hands, that was you wasn't it

and just then, Maloventernatus surprised me, he laughed, he laughed a hearty, Rienhart like laugh

Maloventernatus: ah, impressive, but you seem to believe that I am different from others, if that's the case, what do you think I am

Inky: easy, your the necessary evil

And for the first time ever, Maloventernatus was confused

Maloventernatus: I beg your pardon

Inky: As messed up as it may sound, the world requires a balance, for every yin there must be a yang, for every good there must be a bad, for every hero, there needs to b a villain. we're not heroes we're guardians, our job isn't to fight for good, but to maintain the balance. the only reason it appears that way is because people like Amara take the evil side to the extreme and we must fight with the good to balance it. There must always be an equilibrium, and that's what you are, you are the source of evil itself. the source knows better than anyone that it must have a balance, like a cake needing a balance of all ingredients

Maloventernatus: hmmm, you may be correct, but you also may be incorrect

Inky: spiting me for all the times I give vague answers huh

Maloventernatus: indeed

Inky: welp, this tangent is honestly getting a bit out of hand, I mean hear we are by the grave of a dead man talking more about ourselves than him

Maloventernatus: perhaps this is the world he envisions, one were we can laugh about things like this, a world where both sides coexist

Inky: yeah, that does kinda sound like him, *sigh* so, how's Runihura

Maloventernatus: he's been upset, Tempest gave his word, and now his is gone, he feels as if his name was spit upon

Inky: I see, and what of you Aursa

Aursa: it's been a bit sad, but Tempest wouldn't want us moping around so I've been trying to do what I can to lift everyone's spirits, the Cree- er, sorry, my family was kind enough to let me live with them since it would be problematic to stay with my uncle or the Leader of Good, but so far, they've also been pretty down, thankfully Eri has stopped them from going full suicidal, but it doesn't stop them from looking like they will

Inky: I see, well, I guess that's my cue to start their heal process then *opens portal* it was nice seeing you again Maloventernatus in a more passive situation

Maloventernatus: don't believe that this will make us friends, when the time comes, you will fall to me

Inky: *smirks* we'll see about when the time comes, until then-

Maloventernatus: WAIT, your hiding something more than just your own feelings, out of everyone you appear the most calm about his death, you know something they don't, do you

I was silent for a while, contemplating how to answer

Inky:... if I told them the truth, they would end up looking for him immediately, as well as running to their deaths, as messed up as it may be, both their mental stability is too broken to know the truth

Maloventernatus: oh? and what of his mentality is messed up?

Inky: *sigh* it's the same I told you, no matter what, we can't change the opinions of others, try as we may, it's up to them to change, regardless of how much we said it, he still blames himself for the events of the past, and they still haunt him. The power to return is within him, but to unleash it, he must let go of the past and embrace the future, and this time, he needs to find out how himself. Now if you'll excuse me, I've pleasured your questions enough

Maloventernatus: of course, farewell

and so, the three of us left, Maloventernatus to the Malicious Regime to continue his plans, and I followed Aursa to the Creed house, to begin the healing process
