GOLDEN VALLEY

"Jungkook!"

The boy who was dazing off into space finally snapped back to reality. "Y-Yes?"

"What are you dreaming about this time?" His history teacher joked, making the class laugh.

"Sorry." Jungkook quietly mumbled, knowing he interrupted the class for the second time in a row.

"It must be the girl of your dreams." Taehyung chuckled from the back row.

Jungkook tried to ignore him, but his blood was boiling. All he wanted to do was to beat the living shit out of him.

"Alright class, let's turn to chapter seven in your textbooks." The teacher instructed his students.

The class went on for what felt like forever, and it was about time the bell rang. Jungkook stood up from his seat, sighing when Taehyung purposely shoulder bumped him on his way out the door.

All this because he stood up for a girl.

Jungkook gave a quick nod to his history teacher as he left his classroom. He put his earbuds in, before heading towards the front doors. Linkin Park was what he'd usually listen to, especially on days like this one. He lowered his brow when he felt a hand tug at his shirt. Jungkook took one of his earbuds out and gave Faye a blank stare.

"Hey buddy." She shoved her hands into the comfy pockets of her jacket. "Wanna walk together?"

"I drive.." Jungkook muttered as he kept walking, making it really obvious he wasn't in any mood to have a conversation right now.

"Oh—right." Faye pressed her lips together as she tried to figure out what else to say. Something he couldn't say no to or try so hard to run away from.

"What are you listening to?" She looked up at him, making direct eye contact with his hazel one's.

Jungkook lifted his arm and grabbed onto his right earbud, before handing it to Faye.

"Linkin Park." Faye pursed her lips as she nodded, accepting his taste in music. "I definitely approve."

"Quiet." Jungkook pressed his finger against his own lips. "You're supposed to listen to the music, not talk over it."

"Sorry." Faye whispered as she apologetically pressed her teeth together.

A suppressed smile found its way to Jungkook's lips, making it hard for anyone to even notice. He quickly let it vanish, and focused on the way home instead.

"Where are you going?" Jimin's mother lowered her brows as he grabbed his shoes from the floor.

"Church." Jimin casually replied as he grabbed an apple on his way out.

Both his parents slowly glanced at each other.

He tossed the red apple into the air, letting it fall back into his palm. It definitely wasn't Sunday, so there had to be an better explanation of why he's going. He tossed the finish apple into a trash bin, right as he approached the Church stairs. This is probably the cleanest place he's been while being suspended from school.

Jimin stepped into the church, awkwardly glancing at the older folks that glared in his direction. "Can I help you sir?" A man in a grey suit asked him.

Sora looked up from the table, her grasp still firm around the pen in her hand. She lowered her brow when she saw Jimin standing next to the church's organizer.

"Yeah, uh." Jimin mumbled as he grabbed a piece of paper from his pocket. "I'm here to help volunteer."

He held the flier to the man's face, letting him read the volunteer pamphlet. Sora's eyes brightened as she watched him hold the paper in his hands. This wasn't the Jimin she met a couple days back.

"Volunteers are over there." The grey suited man pointed across the room.

Sora bit her lip as she quickly looked back down at the paper below her.

"I knew I'd find my little angel here." Jimin smirked as he pulled as chair next to Sora.

She set her pen against the desk and glanced up at his eyes. "What are you doing here Jimin?"

"What?" He crossed his arms. "I can't help my community?"

"No, you can." Sora shrugged her shoulders. "I just didn't expect you to be here and especially on a day of school."

"I'm suspended for two weeks, so we don't have to worry about that problem anymore." Jimin licked his lips as they rose into a smile.

"What did you do this time?" Sora rolled her eyes, remembering him telling her how bad of a student he was.

Flashback

"You can tell me."

Sora gulped as she looked into his promising eyes.

"I won't judge you." His hand gently brushed against her trembling ones.

"Well." She let out a quiet sigh. "My last boyfriend wasn't the sweetest guy out there."

"You dated a dickhead, didn't you?" Jimin chuckled, as she gave him a faint smile.

"Yeah." She pursed her lips together. "Something like that."

"Did he get angry?" Jimin's smile turned back into a straight line as he asked her the question.

Sora bit her bottom lip, before nodding.

"Did he—" Jimin's words faded away as soon as he saw Sora nod again.

She pulled the sleeve of her jersey to about her elbow, and extended her arm for him to see the darkly colored bruise right at her forearm. His expression held more anger than it did worry.

"That bastard did this to you?"

"There's more, but I'm not about to take you on a tour." Sora quickly pulled her sleeve down, but his hand was quick to grab her wrist.

"Sora." Jimin gently said her name. "If anyone ever tries to ever hurt you, just let me know and I'll beat the living hell out of them."

"Thanks." She quietly whispered, while pursing her lips together, tightly. "-and if any teacher ever tries to get you in trouble, let the professional talk." She casually rested her hand against her chest.

"That's a pretty good deal." Jimin glanced at the floor as he chuckled. "I do get in trouble often."

"Maybe you're just not hanging around the right people." Sora glanced up into his eyes. "I didn't mean me at all—"

"Sure you didn't." Jimin snickered as he playfully flicked her forehead.

End of flashback

"I may have cheated on a quiz." Jimin shrugged his shoulders. "So I'm kind of banned from school for two weeks."

Sora disappointedly shook her head while crossing her arms. "I'm honestly not surprised at all."

"No one ever is." He beamed a quick smile, and reached for a black pen. "You ready to kick some demon ass."

Sora's quickly slapped her hand over his mouth, as the people next to them walked by. Jimin glanced down at her with raised brows. She moved it away, and stepped back.

"This is a Church." Sora lectured him, making an obvious statement with a straight face. "You can't just go around saying vulgar words like that."

"I can't imagine if an angel was watching me in the bedroom." Jimin bit his bottom lip as he began to think. "I'd truly be racking up sins."

"Stop talking." Sora presses her finger against his lips. "I think it's best for everyone."

"You smell amazing." Jimin randomly blurted out when he lowered his head to smell her chest. "It's like a mix of roses and apple pie—"

"What are you doing?" Sora's eyes went wide, and his eyes innocently met hers.

"Smelling you." Jimin casually spoke, as if there was nothing wrong with that sentence.

"Well stop, you pervert." She pulled him back by his hair.

"You can smell me to make it even." Jimin stupidly suggested as he lifted his shirt just enough for Sora to get a glimpse of his toned abs.

Sora's face turned pale, and her hand darted to his shirt, quickly pulling it down. "Wow, you're really insane." She whispered in amazement.

"Only around you." He nudged her shoulder, but she was still thinking about what she just saw under his shirt.

Jimin noticed the tension in her body, and leaned closer to her. "How about we go somewhere more quiet." He spoke with a low and gentle whisper.

"I guess this is it." Faye pressed her lips together as they reached Jungkook's car.

Jungkook sighed as he watched the gentle rain hit her hoodie. He thought she looked beautiful, while standing in the rain, but he just couldn't tell her.

"I'll see you." Jungkook gave her a short wave, instead of speaking his mind.

Faye blinked a few of times as the disappointment hit her badly. Faye took in a deep breath as he just opened his car door. She bit her bottom lip before walking in the opposite direction.

Jungkook glanced down at the wheel that was harshly holding onto. Thoughts began to flow through his head. Was he being too harsh for absolute no reason? Or is this just who he is?

He let his foot gently press the gas, letting the car slowly roll forward. Faye could feel his presence behind her, and sighed as she turned around.

"Are you trying to run me over?"

Her words were playful, but the frown on her face wasn't. Jungkook scratched his head as he looked out the lowered window. "I'd be an actual asshole, for letting you walk home in the rain."

"I wouldn't wanna take that precious title away from you." Faye raised her brow as his lips parted, like an offended little kid.

"You asked for it." Jungkook licked his lips as a grin appeared on his lips.

Faye's eyes widened when she saw him reverse the car, before stopping. She glanced down at the giant puddle of rain next to where she stood.

"Don't you dare." She mouthed, but Jungkook just teasingly smiled instead.

He pushed the lever back to drive, and sped right over the pool of water. Faye screamed as the cold water drenched her clothes. She heavily breathed while holding out her damp sleeves. Jungkook's laugh could be heard from outside his car. Faye tugged on her bottom lip as a grin formed on her lips. "I'm gonna get you back, you just wait."

"I should probably warn you." Jungkook mumbled as he crossed his arms. "I won't hold back with my pranks."

"You're on Jeon Jungkook." Faye narrowed her eyes at him, clothes still dripping onto the sidewalk.

"Come on." Jungkook pushed the door open. "I'm hungry for some pizza."

Faye tried to hide her smile as she got into his car, which probably cost more than her entire house.

"What?" Jungkook chuckled as he noticed her sudden change of expression.

"N-Nothing." She tried to cover it up, but all the stuttering didn't help her case. "You've just been really nice to me."

Jungkook but the inside of his cheek as he stopped behind the traffic. "Why wouldn't I be nice to you?"

"I don't know." Faye nervously sighed. "We didn't seem to get along at first, so I thought that you'd never want to be friends with someone like me."

"I'll admit—" Jungkook pressed his lips together as he turned to her. "You're not the type of person I'd ever be friends with. I mean, you're crazy, hard to control, full of enthusiasm and energy." He bit his lip, and sighed. "You're honestly really fun to hang out with."

"—And I enjoy spending time with you."
