Get Out
I sat at the bar leaning on my arms with a bored look. There hadn't been anyone who wasn't wasted for a while. Harrison had decided to let me have the closing shift. It had been hard, but then again, a little fun. I must have sprayed about four drunks in the face for asking for my picture. Not a big deal right? Eh, it was a big deal when they asked for the type of flash that didn't come on their camera.
I sighed softly before hearing the door open and straightened while stretching a little.
There was a drunk next to me who was mumbling something incoherently and I leaned over to him.
"Hey buddy, either get some water or get outta here, I'm not giving you anymore drinks."
"Taunting isn't always the best thing to do to a drunk guy." Someone spoke, they sounded sober. I looked in their general direction before sighing and turning away from them and towards the counter.
"What would you like?" I asked before feeling his eyes on me.
"Whisky." He answered before sitting at the bar. That was fine, as long as he was getting drunk he wouldn't notice my stumbles too much, that was one upside to working in a bar. The customers didn't complain about being served by a blind girl.
"So how long you been working here? I don't think I've seen you around." He answered leaning on the counter as I poured him a drink.
"Don't get used to it." I answered simply while avoiding his question. He didn't need to know about me.
"You look like someone who shouldn't be working here." He told me taking his drink straight from my hand while brushing our fingers. I simply wiped my hands on my shorts, it didn't mean anything.
"Yeah well I am." I answered, turning away from him. I don't know why, I just didn't like facing this guy, which was new. I usually didn't want to turn away from people while talking to them.
"I noticed your eyes are an interesting gray. I've never seen anything like them."
"Glad to see your eyes are up here." I snorted.
There was a bit of silence as he drank his whiskey and set the mug down.
"I think you've got something in your eyes, can I see it?" I moved away while frowning at him. He could probably see the scars, not that he didn't know I was blind, he might have figured it out, but I was a bit self conscious when in came to my eyes. That didn't mean I wouldn't look someone in the eyes no, I just didn't like people blatantly staring at them.
"Oh come on, I don't bite." He chuckled making me sighed and roll my eyes.
I walked over and folded my arms as I stared at him.
"What do you see?" I asked with a skeptical brow as if there wasn't really anything in my eyes. I heard him get up before feeling his lips on mine. I squeaked before jumping back.
"Surprise." He said with a devilish smirk, or at least that was the expression I imayined him to have. "Really, I think I like that expression." He chuckled and I could hear the creek of the counter as he leaned on it. I frowned at him.
Grabbing the sprayer, I sprayed his face for a good four seconds.
"Yeah well, your face has me screaming, get out." I commanded. My tone was a controlled anger.
He cleared his throat and wiped his face as he got up.
"Alright, but I don't think it'll be my face making you scream next time."
"Get. Out." I was glaring at him now waiting until he was out the door before I spit on the floor.
"Gross." I grumbled wiping my lips.
The rest of my shift was uneventful, the guy didn't come back thankfully and I was able to corral the rest of the drunks out of the bar and get them a cab or something.
I wiped down the tables and started setting the chairs on them when I felt eyes on me.
It was a strange feeling and I didn't like it. Looking around was useless, so I used my ears. But there was nothing out of the ordinary. Nothing but that feeling.
"Closing shift sucks, now I know why." I mumbled with a small sigh as I finished cleaning up.
Just as I was heading out, I grabbed one of our less pricey bottles and walked out. I didn't really drink, but it could come in handy as a weapon.
I had my uniform in my bag and the bottle in my hand. As I walked I listened to see if anyone was following me.
Nothing, I was starting to think I was paranoid when I heard a noise. Like a cough. There was someone there, and they were letting me know they were there. I sped up but not too fast, they didn't follow. It sounds dumb but I think they were giving me some kind of warning, one I was probably going to head.
