Burned memories
I sat on my couch a bit stunned. If everything G said was true. I'd been living with monsters among the populous for two years.
I hadn't really noticed at all, but that suddenly explained the reason Harrison had gotten so many more customers.
They'd been curious at first, but soon settled into regulars, where as a few had left and didn't come back.
"Whoa." I mumbled suddenly feeling light headed as I took it all in.
"Yup."
I looked towards him with a small frown.
"You've been through a lot." I murmured still thinking about it.
"You dont know the half of it. But since I've told you so much about me, I think you should shed some light on your own situation."
This made my frown deepen. He hadn't really told me anything about his personal experience, rather than that, he'd told me about all the monsters in general.
"What situation?" I asked standing up, I didn't want to talk about myself.
"Why are you blind?" He asked as I turned to him, folding my arms.
"What kind of question is that?"
"Did you have it when you were born or did you acquire it?" He asked in a more simple form. But I didn't answer him.
"If you can teleport what other abilities do you have? Or is that it?" I asked back ignoring his questions.
He chuckled.
"Why don't you ask me a question, and I'll answer, then I'll ask a question, and you answer." He suggested, it seemed harmless, but I didn't exactly like the arrangement.
I thought about the time and frowned, I still wanted to go to bed.
"Fine, but I'm limiting you to three questions and then you have to leave, I want to go to sleep." I said simply while sitting back down.
He was silent for a minute before humming. "Deal. So How did you become blind?" He asked. That was the reason I didn't like the arrangement.
"Not that it's any of your business." I replied. "But I lost it in a house fire."
G was silent, which I took as a cue to ask him questions.
"So do you have any other powers?" I asked and he remained quiet for a second before responding.
"Yeah."
"What are they?" I asked, but he chuckled.
"It's my turn." He told me and I frowned folding my arms a little tighter, but I didn't argue.
"What happened in the House Fire?" He asked causing me to sigh. I didn't like going into detail about it.
"I went into the house, there was a fire. A spray of splintered wood shot out of the fire hitting me in the face. I ended up going blind." I explained simply, but my throat tightened and I felt a burn at the back of my eyes.
"Is G your real name?"
I don't know why I asked, I didn't want to know G. Yet for some reason, it seemed a better topic than the previous.
He hesitated before answering. "No. Did you know there was fire in the house?" He asked, immediately going back to me.
I was absolutely still as I whispered. "Yes."
The skeleton shifted, as he sat next to me. "Then why did you go inside?"
I stood up after he said that, my hands clenched. "You've already asked your three questions, I want you to leave." I told him while trying to keep my voice from shaking.
"Hey that's not fair, you're leaving me on a cliff hanger." He objected as he got to his feet as well.
"My past is not a TV show for you to enjoy!" I snapped at him before turning and walking straight into my room, grabbing the door knob.
"Now leave." I slammed the door behind me.
