Chapter 2

Shortly after we stopped running was came into a small clearing, and a tall barbed wire fence towered over us. "Did you and your friends make this?" I asked.

"We actually found it." Vylad replied looking at me. He walked up to the fence. "Hey! Garroth! I'm back!"

"Coming, Vylad!" I heard a voice, but it didn't sound like it belonged to a man. A door swung open a few feet away from us and Vylad waved me over. We walked through the door, and I immediately recognized the military base that we had just entered.

"Vylad. There are guns in here."

"What? How'd you know?"

"...I used to live here." I mumbled, looking down. I walked quickly towards the locked up building. I heard footsteps running after me and felt someone slam into my side. I flew into the wall and grunted. I felt cool metal, press against my throat.

"NO! Garroth! Stop!" Vylad yelled. I blinked to clear my blurry vision, and there I saw, Garroth Ro'Meave.

"Ugh..." I groaned and tried not to move.

"Who are you!?" He demanded.

"(Y/N) (L/N)." I managed.

"Were you the one screaming today?" I heard a feminine voice and opened my eyes to see, Aphmau.

"Yes." I whimpered. "Can you move that blade? I can tell you're not sure on how to use that." The blade was removed, and I slumped down. "So you guys don't remember me?"

"Should we?" I heard an angry voice. I didn't even have to look to know who he was.

"Yes, Zane. I remember all of you... you may remember me as (N/N)." I heard several gasps and Vylad stepped forward and pulled me to my feet.

"Guys, she knows where we can get guns." Vylad spoke up. Everyone eyed me cautiously.

"My dad was a retired military commander, and became Sheriff." I explained. "Did you guys even try to open this door?"

"No. It was locked." Garroth stated.

"Yeah, and on the other side are weapons." I grabbed the blade from him and struck it down on the chains with suck force that the blade shattered along with the chains. They fell to my feet and I handed the handle of the blade back to, Garroth while everyone stared at me, wide eyed. "I used to train here. I was going to take after my dad, but better."

I tossed the door open and walked in, the lights were out and practically hanging from the ceiling. I swallowed and kept walking toward the basement stairs. "(Y/N)!' Vylad yelled. There was a howling scream from the bottom of the stairs. My eyes widened as I laid eyes on the Roamer stumbling up the steep set of stairs.

Once he was within reach I landed a forceful punch right in between his eyes. The black ooze poured out of his head and spilled onto my hand. I rolled my eyes and whipped my hand on his ragged clothes. Vylad ran over to me and grabbed my arm and pulled me away from the stairs.

"What were you doing?" He asked, holding my shoulders tightly. I grunted as I pulled away.

"I was just going to find the fire arms."

"That Roamer could still be alive!" He hissed quietly.

"He's not trust me. I'm a military kid, I can kill you with a single punch. Now follow me." I ushered him down the stairs and he followed hesitant. Everything was dark, but I had memorized these hallways back when I came here. I stopped as a memory surfaced.

"(Y/N)! Stop running around! You're gonna get someone hurt!" Carlson yelled. I laughed as I pulled my Swiss Army knife from my pocket and started to slice it back and forth.

"I'm gonna be in the military too someday, Carlson! I wanna be just like you and daddy!" I giggled. He chuckled.

"Well let's start off be not swinging the knife around." He plucked it from my hands and slid it into his back pocket as I crossed my arms, pouting. He ruffled my hair and I giggled, hugging his leg. "So do you want to go get some space food?" He laughed, knowing I thought it was made in space, which was the only reason I ate it.

"YES!" I giggled, letting go of his leg and running circles around him.

"Hey, (Y/N). Are you okay?" Vylad asked, nudging my shoulder.

"Hm? Oh... uh yeah. Just some old memories surfacing."

"Yeah? Like what?"

"Just an old friend. He died in the Desert Storm." I frowned.

"Sorry if I triggered something."

"No, it's okay. Let's just find those guns." I shook my head and kept walking until we came to the high maintenance zone. I typed the code into the keypad, hoping the door would still work. I let out a sigh of relief as the door slid open with ease. We snuck in and Vylad's jaw dropped at the amount of guns hung on the wall.

"That's... a lot of guns." He breathed. I laughed.

"It was a military base after all. Alpha Two, to be exact." I shrugged and picked up an assault rifle of the wall, aiming it at a target about fifty feet away and shot a perfect bullseye. I shrugged. "Too light."

"You just hit the center of a target perfectly!" Vylad exclaimed. I laughed.

"Military kid! I trained with guns basically since I could walk on my tiny baby legs." I set the rifle down and picked up and AK47 and aimed at the target, shot a round and got them all in the same place, the yellow. "Okay this one will do." I sling it over my shoulder, grabbing a side pocket for the ammunition.

I picked up duel wield pistols and strapped them to my thighs. I looked at Vylad, who was staring and waved him over. "Pick out a couple guns already!" I laughed as I added another pouch of pistol ammunition.

"You know like an hour or so ago I was saving you from a Roamer, now you're down here showing me all these guns that you know how to use." He laughed as he picked up a sniper, which I couldn't remember the name of.

"I grew soft, but after a couple of them tried to kill me I decided to put the soft girl away for a while. Now let's go see if your friends want some guns too."
