Annabeth:

"HEY NICK" I shouted

He turned around only for his face to be covered in pie. I laughed and turned around, running back to Shawn. I was dared by an interviewer to pie Nick right in the face.

"Im gonna get you back Martello!" he shouted, wiping off the whipped cream on his eyes

"Try me Jonas" I shouted back

"Well now, Shawn you have one feisty girlfriend don't you?" The interviewer chuckled

"Well yeah, I mean look at her hair" He snickered

"Hey! Just because my hair is red doesn't mean Im... Never mind that's exactly what it means..."

They all laughed and I just shrugged. Shawn was right, all I had to do was be myself and the interview would go fine.

"So Mendes, how did you meet Annabeth?"

He slung his arm over my shoulder and I rested my head on his shoulder, enjoying his warmth.

"Her cousin just happened to be one of my best friends actually!"

I just stood there smiling, letting Shawn answer the questions.

"Alright so sometime several moths ago you had your wisdom teeth removed. Now you posted on Snapchat a video of you and Annabeth. Were you a couple then?"

"Uh actually no we weren't" I answered

"The doy was just crushing hard" I giggled

Shawn lightly hit me on the back of my head

"It's the truth" I laughed

"Okay so it is true..." he whispered, looking away from the camera

The whole interview was laugh and games, questions on when the first song was going to be released and such.

"Actually the first song is going to be released tomorrow and then there's going to be a small performance featuring the song and then some old ones" Shawn explained

"Well we look forward to it! Wanna do me a favor and hold this sign up with me while we take a picture" The interviewer asked, giving Shawn a sign that said "Illuminate" on it.

"Here, Annabeth come on and take the picture" She cooed

I gladly took the phone and stood a few feet away. I raised the camera and was about to take the picture when Shawn flipped the poster, a big bright smile radiating off of him. I furrowed my brows and I read the words on it.

"Annabeth, you 'Illuminate' my world. Will you go to Prom with me?" I read under my breath

My eyes widened and I covered my mouth, realizing it was a proposal!

"Of course I would" I laughed in shock

He rushed forward and embraced me in a tight hug, cameras shuddering around us. I had to be the luckiest girl alive. I mean that's how I felt at the moment. I was going to prom!

Shawn:

I adjusted the bow on my tux before taking in a deep breath. Today was prom.... The highlight of high school... That's not Annabeth of course.

"Hey bro, looking sharp" Aaliyah winked, standing in the door way of my room

"Thanks A" I smiled

Aaliyah walked me down stairs and to my car. Mom and Dad were off on business so Aaliyah took up the roll for them.

"No after parties, no drinking and no losing your virginity" Aaliyah stated, walking behind me

"Uh, okay? So I wont be going to any after parties, Im not legal to drink alcohol and I don't plan on losing my virginity" I said back before hoping into my car and rolling down the window.

"Awesome! Your all set! Tell Annabeth I said hi" Aaliyah smiled, waving me off as I pulled out of the drive way

This was the only time I will ever leave Aaliyah home alone.. For all I know I could come back to total chaos. I shook the thought of coming hoe to a house on fire out of my head, this was my night to be happy. Well I mean, I've been extremely happy since Treat You Better hit the high charts, getting all the way to number one!

The thought of my song becoming a huge success caused an almost permanent smile on my face. I pulled into the drive way and took the bouquet of flowers Aaliyah and chosen and stepped out of the jeep. I made sure my suit was straight and neat before going to the door. I rang the door bell and automatically heard Muffins barking bloody murder.

The door opened to reveal a breathtaking sight. Annabeth was wearing a white dress that faded into red at the bottom. She had a crown of daisy's on her head and several braids in her hair. A cuff of flowers was wrapped around her wrists but hat shocked me most was that she had her crown sitting on her head.

"Looking sharp Mendes" she winked

"Looking perfect Martello" I smiled back

I handed her the roses which she took gratefully. She took a rose out and added it to my tux to complete my look.

"I got you this rose and I need to know, will you et it die or let it grow" She sang, fixing it onto my suit

"I will always let it grow" I whispered, kissing her forehead

"Im glad I can say the same" she smiled, tapping the end of my nose with her index finger before walking by me to the Jeep

"Hey Annabeth" I called after her, jogging ahead to open the car door for her

"Hm?"

"Uh.. Your crown-"

"Its okay Shawn, its about time the world knew that we were out there. If you didn't see the news yesterday, Grandmother beat me to it. There a picture of Max and I everywhere" she said with a huff

I kissed her one more time before shutting her door and getting into my own side of the car. We drove down to the school, our hands intertwined the whole time. Once we arrived, a royal guard was already waiting to act as a valet and take my jeep.

"So these guys gonna be everywhere now?" I asked Annabeth quietly, nervously glancing around as the serious guards eyes followed me

Annabeth sighed and snapped her fingers. Almost immediately the guards walked away, two civilian clothed ones replacing them.

"Amazing" I gasped

Annabeth laughed which made me smile, she was perfect she really was. The inside of the gym was amazing, it seemed so outdoorsy which was my favorite thing ever. Annabeth gasped as the lights on the ceiling turned different colors and sound affects of nature flowing thorugh the busy room.

"This is amazing" Annabeth corrected

We walked in further .

"Look there's Dante!" Annabeth squealed

We rushed over and we exchanged greetings. The night went by fast, we talked about the recording, how there was going to be a small performance in a two weeks, and more. Several people walked up to Annabeth asking for a picture, probably because of her crown...

One guy that I recognized as a guard walked over to Annabeth and whispered something into her ear. She nodded quickly, a smile of excitement growing on her face. She stood up and took my hand, dragging me out of my seat.

"Come on lets dance!" she giggled, dragging me to the dance floor

"Anna I cant dance" I groaned

"I cant either but Im sure you can to this song" she smiled, her bare feet finally standing still

I gave her a confused look until a familiar thump thump thump thum thump thump began to play.

"I wont lie to you" she sang

"I know hes just not right for you" I sang back

And soon enough everyone in the whole gym was singing to Treat You Better! The moment was interrupted by a voice over the loud speakers.

"Its time to announce our prom King and Queen!" the female voice said excitedly

Everybody rushed up to the front stage of the gym, Annabeth and I holding back to catch up with Gloria and Dante.

"Now we have received the results and the King and Queen for Pine Ridges High school iss.... Shawn and Annabeth! To be honest this does not surprise me! I mean #Couplegoals!"

I felt Annabeth shrink into me as the spotlights above were shown down on us. Multiple people clapped around us as I led Annabeth up to the stage. She's performed before and all yet she seems to get nervous still!

"What should I do with the um..." The girl from the loud speakers asked, holding the prom queen crown

Annabeth thought for a moment before whistling loudly. A guard rushed up on stage, did a quick bow, and took the crown from Annabeth's head. The girl placed the new crown on Annabeth's head and the music began to play again.

"Anna promise me something" I whispered as we got down from the stage

"Huh?"

"That you'll be there for the performance. I want you to see the impact you have on people" I blurted out

She smiled and planted a kiss on my lips.

"Of course I promise!"
