Annabeth:

I got into Shawn's passenger side of his car. He asked me to do a favor for him. Help his little sister with a problem apparently he didn't have the answer to. I said I would help because duh, I have nothing else to do today AND he bought me breakfast this morning. I could careless about my hair, it just curled right back up. He got into his driver side, a look of accomplishment on his face which was really weird.

"Be prepared for anything at my house" he said cautiously as we drove down the street

I laughed and looked out the window, a truck zoomed by us causing me to suddenly sink my nails into my bag and squeeze my eyes shut.

*Flashback*

"Vincent watch out!" Mum yelled as the car skid

I braced myself against Aiden's car seat as an impact hit the side of the car. It flipped several times, jerking me left to right. Before I knew it, there it was. That dark, cold stuff.

Water....

*Flashback ends*

"Annabeth you okay?" I heard Shawn ask as I shot my eyes open and looked around

I realized I had been breathing heavily and my nails hurt from how hard I was clutching my bag. We were at a stop light and Shawn had a complete expression of worry on his face. I looked around and saw the truck beside us. It wasn't going anywhere. It wasn't barreling at us to hit the car, we weren't going to die.

"Annabeth" Shawn repeated causing me to look at him

"Green light" I said, looking out the window again

I shuddered. These mini panic attacks are getting worse. These memory flashes don't help either. The car began to move again, and I just stayed silent. If I had to explain to Shawn that I had a mini panic attack, he was going to ask questions that are better left unasked. We eventually pulled up to Shawn's two story house, it was big but not to big, just enough like a normal house... Unlike my cousins excessively huge house and my home back in London. I swear I get lost in those places. We got out of the car and I looked around. There was a basketball hoop hanging above the garage door and a basketball near my feet. It wouldn't hurt, right? I picked up the ball, aimed, and shot. The ball swished in the net before falling out an bouncing in Shawn's direction.

"Nice shot!" he said impressed

"Thank you" I said, bowing which seemed abnormal for me to bow

He laughed and I followed him to the front door which he unlocked.

"Aaliyah?" he shouted into the house which seemed still

Nothing happened. Not even a stir. Oh wait, I take it back, something behind the flowerpot moved.

"Chester!" Shawn cooed as the calico cat slipped out from behind the pot and walked to him

I giggled as the cat walked in and out of my ankles, purring up against me.

"Aww, hello there Chester" I cooed, picking him up and kissing his nose

Shawn practically giggled as I continued to baby the cat.

"Did you grow up with just cats?" I asked, putting Chester down

Chester made a dash for the kitchen and I shook my head at how crazy cats could be at times

"Well yeah, you know I'm allergic to dogs, which is a shame" he said, dropping his backpack onto the couch

"That's funny cause I grew up In a house full of dogs. Literally my grandmother has like five corgis" I said with a laugh, dropping my bag on the floor near the door

Shawn gave me an odd look which made me realize I had given to much detail.. Again.

"Corgis?" he asked, oh god....

"Where's Aaliyah?" I asked, trying to change the subject as fast as possible

"Oh uh" Shawn began, looking around the bottom floor for her

"Found her!" he called out

I ran to his voice. He was in the kitchen, looking out the sliding glass doors. I peeked out to see Aaliyah jumping off a trampoline and slowly walking to the swing set before sitting down and swinging herself slowly. It seemed like she was carrying a weight, ne she couldn't carry and no... No pun intended, although it is pretty funny. I held my breath as I slid open the door and stepped out. I noticed that the cold season was drawing near, several leaves were already tumbling on the ground. Aaliyah looked up and gave me an odd look, like who was I?

"You Aaliyah?" I asked with a smiling, growing nearer

"Uh yeah, your?" she replied stopping her self with her feet

"Annabeth" I replied, stopping in my place

A smile suddenly grew on her face and it lightened up.

"Oh so you're the famous Annabeth!" she said with a sudden burst of excitement

My heart raced, did she already recognize me? Oh god no please...

"Shawn talks about you all the time!" she said with a huge smile that looked practically exactly like Shawn's

My heart beat raced even faster, Shawn.. The SHAWN MENDES was talking about me to his family.... IM FREAKING OUT!

"All god things I hope. Mind if I sit?" I asked stepping forward

"Now I see why Shawn says your accent is cute.. Cause it is!" she said with a sudden squeal as I sat down on the swing beside her

My cheeks grew hot from embarrassment. Shawn thought my accent was cute! How sweet!

"Wait, so what are you doing out here?" she asked quickly

"Well, Shawn said I probably knew more about some type f problem your having." I explained, looking over at her face

"and you just agreed? From what I've heard, you don exactly speak much" she asked curiously

Again my cheeks flushed a bright red, Shawn has really been talking about me huh?

"Oh well uh, I kinda owed him for buying me breakfast this morning" I confessed, swinging on the swing slowly

She gave me a look as if she were reading me, which is something Shawn did a lot.

"Okay well, I guess I do kinda need help.." she said softly, looking down at her lap

I stayed silent, waiting for her to speak.

"Well, I met some friends at the begging of summer. Shawn has always been my bestfriend so I never felt the need to go out and make new ones except for him and ne other from school. Well after he left for his career, I was all alone and set out to find friends"

"After that, I found three that I could've sworn were going to stick around for a long while. We shared everything together, and now I fee like they have ruined my social life. They knew who my crush was and set up a note from my secret admirer but luckily I kept mum instead of thinking it was him. I figured out they had planted the note and at first I thought it was just fun and games till the next day..." she continued, not looking up

I looked over at her and just stared. I knew that feeling. You know, being betrayed by someone you thought was going to be there forever. That's actually one of the reasons I left London, I was betrayed.. I felt betrayed, and it hurt me a lot. I might be able to help in this situation after all.

"They decided it would be cool to tell everyone that Kaden was my crush, and everybody teased me about it. I haven't been able to concentrate on hockey or gymnastics, and now Kaden gives me an odd look every time I pass but him. I'm usually able to read people, but I cant read that look he gives me. I feel like my whole world has come crashing down. I mean they could continue to let more of my secrets out and I'll just be picked on." She ended with a sigh

"Well Aaliyah" I began

"I can totally relate" I said with a smile

"You can?"

"Well yeah. It happened to me. I thought my bestfriend was going to stick by me always, and she ended up backstabbing me and embarrassing me in front of my whole school" I said with a sigh, remembering all those taunting kids laughs, there snickers and names they called me like 'freckle face' or when I wore my glasses 'Four eyes'.

"Wow.." she replied

"Aaliyah, the more you let them keep you down, the more they will persist! Show them the best of you, that you don't care wither they call you names, tease you that they know who your crush is. So what? That could just be a rumor that started up, and it will die down as fast as It started. The reason why they pick on you is because your vulnerable, but if you show them it doesn't matter what they do, you will do your best, they'll have no choice but to stop." I explained, putting more confidence in my words

"There also probably jealous on how smart, funny, and beautiful you are. You said you did gymnastics? Well so did I. But back to the point. The girls are probably jealous that you can do a back handspring way better than they can. You play hockey? Well the others are probably jealous that our the best player on the team" I said with a smile

She looked back at me and smiled back.

"And when you cant read your crushes face? Its probably an expression you've never seen before. Like he maybe likes you a lot, and you just don't know it"

She blushed slightly and looked back at her legs.

"Thanks Annabeth, I really needed that" she said, way more cheerful than before

"No problem Aaliyah, glad I could help"

"So you used to do gymnastics huh?"

"Yep" I replied popping the 'p'

"Why did you stop?"

I pondered on how to answer this question. There were many reasons, but I had to choose one that wouldn't kill me.

"I moved" I blurted out

"Oh.."

"I actually made it to the pre Olympics" I said proudly

"Woah really?!" she exclaimed

"Yeah"

"Would you teach me some moves?"

"Of course!"
