The Controls

Pidge POV

Doubts about who Trigel really was were still present in my mind when Imp let me see what she saw again. She was creeping down a long hall, following the alien who's name I had learned was Ezor.

A lot had happened in what Imp had let me know was a couple of weeks of being with Lotor. He had trained her, and in doing so, had also been preparing her for missions with his team. Today was apparently the day he brought her along for the first time. I didn't remember exactly what the mission was, only that it involved sneaking into a Galran base and getting some part or something.

Imp was still following Ezor when the alarms sounded. Imp's vision was flooded with bright purple lights. Ezor froze, and then turned around, grabbing Imp's hand and sprinting back down the hall they had come down. She stopped dead again when she heard loud boots thundering down that hall.

Ezor's eyes filled with fear, and that fear started to leak into Imp. I could feel her terror, and her surprise when Ezor started to move again, this time towards her. She soundlessly pointed upwards, and Imp looked up to see a vent. Ezor again motioned with her hands for Imp to lift her up while she got it open. Imp nodded, and I laughed. I still wasn't the strongest of the paladins, and certainly not the strongest on the castle-ship, but I had gotten stronger since the Garrison.

Imp leaned down and clasped her hands together and boosted Ezor up until she could reach the vent. She wiggled it open, and then climbed up. She looked down, and Imp signaled for her to help her up. Ezor shook her head, and horror filled my body just as sentries rounded the corner. Imp glanced up at the vent, but Ezor was already gone.

The sentries tackled Imp, and her head hit the floor, knocking her out. I, however, was still awake. It still amazed me that since she had taken over my body, she had felt all of the pain I should have felt.

The sentries lifted her up, and jostled her a bit, just enough so i could see through the tiny gap between my eyelashes. They dragged me through a couple of halls, and finally came to a room where they through me in. But because they thought I was out--which I kind of was--they left the door open until a commander approached the door. He glanced through the opening at me, and then turned to a soldier next to him.

"Contact Haggar. Tell her we have found a paladin of Voltron."

Drawing back into my mind, I stared at what would have been the floor, panic coursing its way through my veins. I stumbled, hitting the glass of my cage and falling to the ground. If Haggar found me...what would happen? I'm not in charge right now, and she would certainly not get what she wanted.

Crack!

My head shot up. What was going on? I focused on the glass in front of me when I heard another one.

Crack!

My eyes widened when I saw the little fracture--so tiny--but there all the same. Another crack! split the air, and the glass came crashing down.

I hesitantly stood up, and stepped over the glass shards on the floor. Looking around, I only saw one opening I could take. I started to run towards it, and as soon as I was through it, I stared in awe at the room.

It looked kind of like Green's cockpit, but so, so different. Off to the right was a huge circuit board, with hundred of flash drives plugged into it. On the left were toggles and switches, and the use for those I had no idea. My gaze shifted to the front middle where the main controls and a seat were. A figure was slumped in the seat, and I rushed over to find Imp there, with her head down and her eyes closed.

I shook her shoulder, and when she wouldn't move, I grabbed her underneath her armpits and dragged her out of the seat. I dropped her on the floor, and moved to sit in the chair. Before I could sit, I felt a sharp sting, kind of like when Imp had shocked me. I shook my head and tried again, but didn't make it any farther. This time, though, it was a lot harder.

"Ow!" I yelled. I shook my head again and didn't even try to sit down, but instead grabbed the controls. My vision went white, and my body arched with pain. I screamed, and tried to let go, but my hands felt like they were glued to the controls.

I screamed even more, and I barely felt the fingers trying to make my fingers release. "Let go!"

I didn't answer, still trying to let go. Finally, the fingers worked their way until my hands had let go of the controls.

I gasped, and stumbled back. I looked at my hands as a voice practically yelled at me, "What are you doing here?! How did you get out?!"

I looked up to see Imp, this time fully conscious. Her eyes burned, and for a second it looked like a glint of fear was in them.

"We need to leave," I insisted, not even bothering to answer her last question. I grabbed her hand, trying to pull her away. She resisted, and backed away.

"Why?"

"Because they're taking us to Haggar."

"Who?"

"You know, big scary lady that wants to kill me because I'm a paladin of Voltron."

Her eyes grew wide, and she turned around and leaped into the seat, starting to move the controls. I looked at the screen in the front, and realized it was basically what I would normally see through my eyes when I wasn't in this place.

Through the screen, we could see the cell we were in. Black walls with purple lights on the walls, and a single door.

Imp turned to me. "Now what?"

"Oh, now you want my input?" I asked, raising an eyebrow and crossing my arms.

"Oh, shut up." She also crossed her arms and glared. "I took you over so I could survive. I didn't do this because I knew you were a paladin of Voltron."

"Whatever," I scoffed, turning back to the screen. "I say we get ready, and whatever comes through that door next gets decked."

She nodded, and adjusted the controls until our body was positioned as out of sight as we could.

I didn't know how long we sat there. It could have been hours, it could been minutes. However long it was, I had started to fall asleep. Finally, we could hear loud and thundering footsteps coming down the hall, and I startled back awake.

Imp moved a control, and our body shifted and then went still.

The footsteps had stopped just outside of the door, and when Imp put our head next to the door, it sounded like they were talking.

The sound of a couple more footsteps, and the door started to slide open. Imp rose, ready to strike, and froze when the point of the beaked mask poked through the door.

I tried to shout a warning to Imp, but I was too late. Sentries had grabbed our body, and were hauling us through the door kicking and screaming. Imp yanked on the controls, trying to get us out of the sentries' grasps, but to no avail. We were headed for Haggar, and there was nothing either of us could do.

They took us down an even longer hallway than the one we had come down originally. Then they put us in a pod, and transported us somewhere. Imp couldn't position us so we could see out the window, so we just had to wait.

When we got out, they dragged us to another room, and once we were in the room, Imp jerked the controls even more. Haggar was standing in the middle of the room, yellow eyes fixated on us.

The sentries threw us to the ground in front of her, and she motioned a hand in our direction so that the druid that had come with us grabbed our chin and yanked us up to her level.

"Oh, yes. I'll have fun with you." Her eyes seemed to spark with some sort of emotion, and whether it was joy or anger, I couldn't tell.

The sentries that had come into the room with us picked us up again, and dropped us onto a table, strapping us down, and ignoring our struggles and screams.

Haggar approached the table, and raised her arm. Sparks arced from it, and Imp tried to move the controls so she could get us out of the way.

The sparks arced closer.....

Closer....Until they were inches away. Imp was so focused on the sparks that she failed to notice the druid approach with a needle. I shouted a warning, but again, she didn't here me.

After the druid injected the fluid from the needle, Imp screamed, and let go of the controls. They were going haywire, and she couldn't control them anymore.

She screamed again, and again, and the sparks finally reached us, making her scream even more. Then, with a big bang, Imp disappeared, and seconds later, I disappeared as well, back to my prison.

How did you guys like this chapter? I know, no Lance POV, but I couldn't figure out where I could put it without it seeming out of place. This chapter was also a huge pain in the butt to write because I would use "I" with Pidge, and then "she" with Imp, and then "we/our" whenever I was taking about their body. It was just weird. I hope it made sense to all of you. Hopefully, once Christmas break starts in 2 days, I'll be able to get ahead in my writing, and hopefully update more frequently.

 Thanks for reading!
