Chapter 68
The past two days were magical, it was like a leaf taken out from a fantasy world. The majestic turquoise ocean thrashing the golden sands with its white foams. The warm sea air, and the added sparkles of seashells on the folds of sand, everything was magnificent.
We reached Jeju island two days back and today was our final night. The next day at noon we will be heading to the airport to our busy lives of work and reality.
Nevertheless we enjoyed the days we had with full energy and enthusiasm. We visited many waterfalls, museums, parks, breathtaking cliff views and cave exploration. Then also went for a thrilling cart ride, tried a hand in kayaking, surfing, scuba diving and fishing, which I realised Jin was really good at. I was surprised he planned all of this. I thought this week's trip was a sudden idea but I guess I was wrong. It looked like he had been planning all of this for a while. He knew what to do, where to go, even some of the bookings were done long before.
I was scared a bit when we went for scuba diving but once I got the hang of it, I was in love with the adrenaline rush to explore more. Among many first times, fishing will be the most memorable first things I have done in this trip. I didn't know he loved it that much even though he have told me before that he used to go fishing when he had time. But the way his eyes lit up even if he gets a catch or not was beautiful. I could see how much he enjoyed it. I made a mental note to take him fishing back in Canada too.
Presently I was getting ready for dinner in a fancy restaurant. Another surprise he did for me. Good thing I brought something nice with me when I packed. Since the last few days were full of travels and sightseeing he said it will be good to have a nice quiet dinner and then stay in for the next day in the comfort of our hotel.
Packed travels really exhausted us physically but our minds were most alive and well these days. So resting at hotel for the last day will be good. Even if he pointed out what we will be doing won't give us much rest.
I checked myself in the mirror after finishing my look before stepping out of the washroom.
(Ignore the background and glass)
"Woah, you look stunning." Jin was standing by the door checking his phone when he saw me. He was wearing a black solid slim fit shirt and black pants. He looked damn hot.
"And so do you." I walked towards him holding his extended hand.
"On second thoughts, how about we spend the night in bed." His voice near my ear made my toes curl. He didn't wait for an answer but kissed me gently conveying his love and passion for me.
"Everytime I kiss you it's like my first time. It never stops giving me the rush of life. I'm addicted to you Eliza." He whispered against my lips.
I didn't say anything, instead I pulled him into a long breathtaking kiss hoping I conveyed how addicted I am to him too. No matter what I couldn't get enough of him, everything was dust and plain compared to him.

We reached our reserved seats right on time. He chose the best ones, the one with a striking view of the ocean.
We ordered from the menu and talked endlessly while we waited for the food to come. There was a serene calmness when we talked which went along splendidly with the piano notes playing in the background.
"Ema called and told Tae and she had a fight over a snow cone." I told him once the food came. I was surprised they would fight over a silly cone. And she scolded me when I laughed at her for being silly.
"Snow cone?" Seokjin was amused too.
"Yeah, they were doing some weird food competition." I answered. "Sometimes it's hard to be the older one, doesn't it?" I added shaking my head.
"Aren't you just fifteen minutes older than her." He mocked restraining from laughing.
"Still older though." I huffed.
"I can't believe you will be 28 soon." He said shaking his head, remembering it will be 31st soon.
"And don't forget that you are 32, old man." I teased back.
"Hey, I'm still young and handsome."
"Vampire." I said deadpan. These days I fear I will look like a grandma in 20 years while he will still look like a movie star.
After our dinner, he asked me to take a stroll around the beach with him. We walked hand in hand, feeling the wet sand sticking onto our barefoot.
"Your hands are so cold." I noticed his hands were shaking a little too. And I started to worry.
"It's n-nothing. I am just feeling cold." He said softly but his stutter didn't help me feel better.
"We can head back." I didn't want him to get sick from the cold.
"No it will be fine. I just don't feel like going back at all. I wanted to stay here for a while." He admitted.
"I know, I feel the same. These days we were so free. We had nothing to do but just be with each other. I wish we could do these more often."
"Trust me, I would have stopped the time if I could. Just being here with you feels unbelievable." He kissed my forehead as we faced the endless stretch of sea. A sole sailing yacht on the calm water. There were shadows of two in it occassionally raising the flashlight to the shore near the place where we stood. I ignored that and looked up at the sky.
The night was lit with sparkling and shimmering sequin like stars and a bright crescent moon.
His arm was around my shoulder while his other held my palm as we stood there gazing the most exquisite sight before us.
I was startled by a screech followed by a whistled sound. His grip tightened around me then I realised it with excitement they were firecrackers. The people on the yacht were lighting it. One followed by two and then many more filled the sky in an endless bounds of colours. It was mesmerising and incredible.
It went on and on with no signs of stopping anytime soon and I couldn't take my eyes off the sky.
"Do you remember the first time we saw a lit night sky like this?" He asked softly.
I spared a glance at his direction and was awestruck. The light illuminating his face was masterly, magnificent. It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, no sky could look that amazing.
He looked at me and it knocked the breath out of me, I realised how much the man I love loved me back by looking at his glowing eyes.
"It was on your birthday. The night of the new year." He patted my head lightly, lovingly. "That was the day I realised what I felt for you was not just as a housemate or a friend. It was love. That you were my other half."
His gaze was strong and gentle, but also held a promise. My chest was churning with a feeling so powerful, so sensational.
"When I first met you I was blown away by your beauty, then when I get to know you I was floored by your personality. I have never met someone who had such a passion, a beautiful insight to everything they face. Even when hell set loose on you, you stood strong, you fought with it by yourself. To know that this woman is the one I fell in love with will be the most amazing, wonderful thing happened to me. And to be able to tell the world that she loves me too is the best gift I could ever wish for. I am selfish for your love. I am addicted to every single things you do, even the way your hands move away the tiny little hairs from you face, the way you crinkle your nose when you tastes the food you like, every single thing you do is wondrous things for me to see."
My eyes welled up with tears hearing those beautiful words from his mouth, from the person I love, the person I worship. His hands were shaking as he held mine tightly, eyes glimmering with a silver lining of tears when he knelt to the ground and presented a blue box in front of me. When he opened it there was an oval cut diamond ring flanked by blue topazes on it.
"Will you stay by my side, Eliza John, to spend every new year watching the luminent night sky with its sparkle of colours together with me? Will you say yes if I ask you to be my wife?"
I was shaking with happiness and overpowering emotions mostly because of the love and admiration I have for this beautiful soul in front of me.
I knelt down infront of him to look him eye to eye. I snaked my arms around his neck as I pulled him in to kiss me.
The crash of the waves against the crystal sand, the splatter of the sea water on our skin, the thunderous roar in the sky, everything was morphed into the feel of his lips on mine, the alluring scent of his body and the strong arms that held me against his beating chest. At that moment he was me and I was him. We were one body, one soul. And I would never need anything as long as I have him by my side, my soulmate, my love, my life.
We both pulled back smiling, eyes glistening with tears, there were no need for any more words as he slipped the ring on to my finger. This was a new beginning for the both of us, one with love and promise for enternity. And I embraced it.
