Chapter 16
I was walking to our house hurriedly. I thought I would reach before noon, but at the last minute Mr. Keynes decided to assign a head load of shitty assignment for us. I had to discuss it with the group before heading back.
Within five minutes I reached and saw Seokjin's car parked out in the front. He didn't park it in the garage. He told he would be home only by evening, guess he was lucky today.
I opened the door and headed straight to the living room and found a shocked Seokjin staring at something, rather someone. My eyes fell on the person, making my eyes sparkle as I paced to that direction.
"Emily." I hugged her so tight. I felt the other pair of arms engulfing me in a tight hug as well.
"Wh..what's happening? Why do you guys....?" Seokjin stuttered puzzled at the current situation before him.
"This is my sister, Emily. Didn't you see my text?" I asked him. I'm pretty sure I sent him a message right after she told she would be visiting, just so I could avoid this situation.
"Text? Oh my phone's dead. You have a brother and a sister?"
"Yup, a twin sister to be clear." I added before he asks the next obvious question.
"You didn't even tell me." He was still taking it hard. Well, he might've got startled seeing someone who looks just like me.
"Do you have siblings?" I asked him.
"Yes." He replied with a frown.
"And have you told me?" I smirked.
"Point understood." He chuckled finally relieved. I proudly flashed a victorious smile. We both turned our heads seeing Emily snigger at our conversation.
"I found a difference already." Jin piped in wearing a proud smile.
"What is it?" Emily asked interested to know.
"Dimples. Eliza has dimples." He croaked.
"You got that right. That's the only visible difference." I admitted looking at a Seokjin who smiled like a nine year old now.
"But what if we don't smile?" Em challenged.
"As far as I know, I have never seen Eliza without even a tiny smile on her lips."
"Oo, you're really observant." Em replied right away making his cheeks and ears go beet red. Cute, I thought to myself.
We sat around the couch to talk and rest.
"Sorry guys, I couldn't give you all a heads-up before coming here." Em spoke, her hands resting on her lap looking specifically at Seokjin.
"It's okay. It was fun to meet up like this and get scared for a moment." Seokjin chuckled from the chair opposite to mine.
"Ema, why didn't you come before? You told me you were here last week." I asked hugging my legs close to my chest.
"I thought of coming to see you and Hannah, but the team called for a last minute test and I had to leave right away." She pouted at missing an opportunity to meet us.
"Ohh, now it makes sense. It was you." Seokjin clapped his legs lifting up from the floor as his face lightened up.
"What?" We both looked at him in confusion.
"Don't look at me like that, you both. It's going to take longer time to adjust to this sight. I have never had been up close with identical twins you know." He raised his hands in the air in defence. We both laughed at his remark.
"Yeah well, what I meant by that was, one day I went grocery shopping and saw you, no not Eliza but Emily. I even waved at her and she just turned around completely ignoring my existence. And I thought you left because I was your professor and must have felt ashamed or something." He rapped everything in one breath. We were hung up on his words taking time to sink it all in.
"I won't ignore you Seokjin and I'm sure not ashamed of you, even if you are a teacher or not." I told genuinely. I won't ever do that to him. Seokjin looked at me for a few seconds before smiling showing he was happy with my reply.
"So it was you. I didn't actually recognise that guy was you. I remember a guy waving at me and I thought he was a creep. Sorry." She clasped her hands together bowing while giggling.
"I'm not a creep. Aishh." He raised his voice in frustration although shortly falling into laughter. "And I have always wanted to ask you guys. You both bow and I haven't seen anyone else do other than Koreans obviously."
"It's something we picked up from our school. They made us do it from when we were kids. We got used to it and some people even give us weird looks. But none ever complained." Em answered for the both of us.
After talking for what seems like hours we had dinner and Emily went to bed early. She took my bedroom and I am sharing it with her tonight. Seokjin and I are on our usual spot in the couch surfing throught different TV channels before deciding on one.
"Whose older?" He asked curiously.
"Her. I'm fifteen minutes younger."
"And do you guys get along really well?"
"Yes. There's nothing she doesn't know about me. She's my best friend you know."
"Han.." He began and I cut him off.
"Hannah knows everything about me and is my best friend too, but Emily lived through each moments with me. We were always inseparable." I cherished all our memories together.
"It must be nice to have someone like that right. Me and my brothers do fight a lot." He had a bright smile when he talked about them.
"We do fight. But we gets each other too. She's more outgoing and confident. I can be a little introverted when it comes to socializing. Unless I'm so close to that person making him pray for me to just shut the hell up." I tittered.
"I like when you talk. So don't stop." He laughed encouraging me more.
"You say that now, I hope you does it after a few more days." I said. It's true though. I never usually get along with anyone easily. But everything about Seokjin makes me feel more free and confident in myself.
"I will. You should go to bed, your sister might be still waiting."
"I doubt that, she's dead meat when it comes to sleep. Anyways I will check on her. Goodnight then, Seokjin." He stared at me because of me mentioning his full name instead of calling Jin like he wanted to. Then he smiled.
"Goodnight."
