Chapter 12

"Hey mom." I put down the now empty plate of food on the table before plopping on the chair.

"Hai sweety. Did you have your food?" I heard some clinking from the other side, so mom must be cooking right now.

"Just finished filling my belly, mom. Are you cooking right now?"

"Yes, maid didn't come today. She had to run for an errand. So did you like the new place?"

"I love it. Mom, it's small and beautiful and it's the perfect one for me." I squealed.

"I'm happy coz you are. And what about your roommate? I heard he goes to the same University as you."

"Yeah. He's a good guy, so no problem." I intentionally skipped the part he was my professor. That might get all of us into trouble.

"So what did you have for dinner? Did you cook?"

"Mac and cheese. And no I didn't cook. I didn't want to burn it down on the first day of my stay." I stated the obvious. My mom chuckled hearing me.

"Mom, where's dad?" I haven't heard from him in two days.

"He just left for work and didn't even have breakfast." She sighed.

"He's busy like always." I was kinda disappointed because they never got to spend time together. He always was busy but that didn't fade away the love they had for each other.

"Did Emily call you? I have been trying to call her and she's not picking up."

"Mom, Emily must be studying day and even overnight. She might be really tired. They have some exams coming up."

"Ok, I didn't know about that. And honey, I have to go now. Good luck for your first day at the restaurant."

"Thanks mom." We hung up the call. Even I forgot about the job I have tomorrow in the excitement of moving in here. I checked my phone and found that I had some texts from Jimin and Han, but I was too lazy to give a reply and explain about my 'new roommate', which could take hours. So I asked Han to meet up at the restaurant tomorrow and later we three could go shopping for my room decor.

I headed down to put away the plates. Everything was already cleaned up and the only thing left for me to do was clean the plate I had in my hand. I smiled thinking how kind he is.  He did everything and didn't even make me do anything. After cleaning I went back to my room and on the way I checked his room. The door was closed and it seemed like the lights were off, he must have slept. So I didn't bother to say a goodnight. I slept right off when I hit my bed.

-

I put on a periwinkle turtleneck sweater and white ripped jeans. I tied my hair in a high ponytail before heading down.

I didn't see him anywhere so I assumed he might be sleeping still. I toasted some bread and spread some butter. Also made some orange juice. I didn't know what he liked so I made the basics and also because that's the only thing I know.

"Good morning. Eliza." I heard a raspy voice from behind me. I looked through my side and saw him with a messy bed hair and wrinkled clothes from the sleep. And he still managed to look so damn good. God really had favourites. I scoffed in my mind.

"Good morning Mr. Kim." I flashed a smile before continuing spreading the butter. And also to stop scanning him.

"Maybe you should stop doing that." I turned around and saw him ruffling his already messy hair.

"Stop what?" I asked curiously.

"You know we live in the same house. You don't have to call me Mr. Kim anymore. Just call me by my name. Shorter, easier and also comfortable." He smiled rubbing his nape. I looked at him without saying anything.

"It's just us in here anyways. You can call me the other thing when we are back in school." He continued.

"Ok. Seokjin here's your breakfast." I handed him the food. It felt weird to call him by his name. But at the same time it felt more comfortable and reduced the barrier in some ways.

Hearing my call Seokjin beamed happily before taking the plate from me.

"I am not good in cooking. You might have to bear with my skills." I apologetically looked at him in advance.

"It's not a problem at all. I love to cook maybe you will learn this skill from me. Who knows?" He proudly replied.

My phone buzzed before I could muster a sarcastic reply. It was already 9. "Seokjin, I have to leave. This is my first day at the restaurant. And I will come really late only. I have to go shopping for the room with my friends."

I snatched the bag from the couch before sprinting towards the front door. Just before I opened Seokjin stopped me.

"Can you maybe not tell your friends about me living with you?" I didn't say anything as I thought about what he said. I have always shared everything with Hannah. I was planning to tell her this too.

"I know I'm putting you in a tight spot. It's just I.." He spoke again but I cut him off.

"It's ok Seokjin, I understand. I won't tell them, not until you are okay with it." I smiled assuring him.

"Thank you so much." I nodded my head.

"Ok bye. I'm late." I paced to the road.

"How are you gonna go?" He shouted from the inside.

"I will take a bus. Bye." With that I left hurriedly to the restaurant.
