Chapter 08
"You...you got rid of that dress fast," I pointed out between heavy breaths. "I thought you liked it."
"I do like it," he said. His breathing was as heavy as mine. "I love it."
And then he took me to the bed.
Okayyy...Imma stop right there. I have started reading 'The Vampire Academy' book written by Richelle Mead. I closed the book in my hand and placed it on my bag which I have already finished packing with the help of a completely non pissed off Hannah.
"Hey bro, wassup?" I squeaked, smiling so widely even though my brother couldn't see me. I told him I will call him the first thing in the morning, although I got carried away with the book. He doesn't need to know that.
"Trying to bunk the cleaning duty assigned by missus."
"Haa, you never change. I feel bad for Jenna."
"Well, we both were always the dish washers in our house. So you can't blame me for trying to scoot." My brother cooed from the other end.
"Get your ass over there and help her, Evan" I told him and I could here him leaving out a frustrated grunt. I very well know the reason too, for not calling him chettan. Before he could nag me, I continued, "When will you reach here?"
"I don't know, before lunch time probably. We could all have lunch together and also get to know the new tenant. How about that?"
"Ok, I'm in. But the lunch is on you bud."
"You got it. Have you packed or did you set everything aside for the last minute?"
"No, I got it all done wayyy before." I scoffed.
"Hard to believe but okay I guess." I could sense his sarcasm all the way over here.
"Well are they coming along with you, Jenna and my cute baby."
"First of all MY baby and your nephew." I could hear plates clinking and water running from his side, so I suppose he is cleaning the dishes.
"Oh come on, we all know he prefers me over you." I replied with a proud glint written all over my face. And I could hear Evan chuckling.
"Well anyways see you later. I will come pick you up."
"No need, Jimin's gonna drop me there on his way." My stomach grumbled, I woke up shortly and haven't had anything.
"Jimin? Who's that?"
"He's my friend from Uni." I walked out from my temporary shared room with Hannah to the kitchen.
"Is he a foreign student?"
"Yeah he's from South Korea." Ohh strawberry juice. I was searching in the fridge for something that could calm down my grumbling stomach and found my favourite.
"Ella, you know our parents. Don't.."
"Ohh don't sweat it. He really is just my friend." I cut him off before he could complete it. "Evan I have to go. Lemme fill up my stomach with something that could pass my mood vibes. Bye."
"Ok bye. See ya later then." With that we disconnected the call and I headed back to searching the kitchen for food.
-
"Thank you Jimin." I got out from his car. It was a good thing he got his license this early.
"You are most welcome. Imma head out then." With that he left. My brother's car was parked outside. I dragged my luggage along the paved path to the house's front door. My brother used to live here before he married Jenna. after the marriage they settled in Victoria, which is really distant from Vancouver. And he rented out this place, he also has an idea of selling it for the right price. But he's waiting for the right time.
The front door opened revealing my brother. Without even waiting for another minute I flung my hands around his neck. He was surprised at first then hugged me back tightly. It's been about a year since I last saw him. Which was when he visited us back in our home in India.
"I missed you idiot." I controlled myself from slipping off my tears. Gosh I really missed him and I didn't even realise it until now.
"Miss you too." He chuckled before leaving a light kiss on my forehead.
He guided me inside and I glanced around taking in all the view of the interior. The living room was very bright and spacious with its ivory walls and couches. The cushions were grey and the blanket laid across the edge of the white couch was a bright yellow which perfectly balanced with green succulents and black pots.
"Did you like it?" My brother asked expectantly.
"I loved it. It's perfect. I'm scared I might stain the couch now." I chuckled giving a quick hug. I knew they renovated the whole house to match my taste and preferences. My mom told me this without telling my brother, coz we both knew he would just deny it. He was actually planning to give this house to me. But I knew he needed to sell this and I can imagine the struggles of bringing up a kid. So I compelled him to at least rent it out telling I don't want to live in such a big house alone. If Hannah didn't already pay for her current apartment in advance I would have brought her along with me.
"So where is my new roommate?" I have no idea whom I am gonna spend the rest of my time here with. And I didn't even show the slightest interest to know either.
"He's upstairs. I will call him." With that my brother climbed the stairs.
Shortly he returned accompanied by another guy, stopping me in my tracks.
"Sis, this is Kim Seokjin, your roommate."
