I was lost in my train of thoughts as I waited in the room outside the director's office. I was startled a bit when I heard the sound of boots coming closer.

I looked up at the stranger who just entered the waiting lounge. He was really tall and unbelievably handsome. He was wearing a jet black shirt that defines his built body, with a grey matte fit pants. It looked formal yet simple and ethereal.

He sat across my chair elegantly crossing his one leg over the other. He ran his hands through his dark slicked black hair. I couldn't help but stare at the sudden dominance his presence made in this dull room. I was awaken from the trance hearing him clearing his throat to speak.

"Excuse me Miss, are you here to see the Director? Is he inside?" His voice was like silk that could trap you in its beauty. His dark eyes stared at me waiting for a reply.

Get a hold of yourself girl. I slapped myself mentally. "Yes. He's inside. He's having a meeting right now." I replied.

"Thank you." He smiled which I returned gladly.

It seems like he's not from here. His accent is different and also his looks. He might be an international student like me. Should I talk to him and make friends? The only one I know here is Hannah. We both left India together to pursue our career here in Canada. It will be good to make new friends. After all, I know only her and an online friend of Han whom she hasn't even met. He goes here in the same campus too.

After giving a minute for thinking I scratched that idea of talking to him. It's too much work and a lot of energy.

I entered the office when two ladies, whom I guess were the staff, left chattering about some paper works.

"Eliza, how are you? It's good to see you." I saw the old man smiling widely as he saw my figure entering.

"It's good to see you too. I'm doing great." I shook hands with him before taking the seat.

"So tell me, do you like it here?"

"I love it. This place is really beautiful." It was true, I feel like I might settle in here itself.

"Jenna was sure you will like it in here. Did you see them after coming here?"

I didn't think he will talk about our family. I thought it was an official meeting. But I was glad he brought this topic up I feel a lot of burden taken off of my shoulders. I tried my best to get in this college solely with my own skills and hardwork. I didn't want to be here coz of the external influences I had. I felt like I should earn this place with my own capabilities.

"I haven't seen them yet. I stayed in my friend's apartment." I was staying at Hannah's place. We reached here one day before only and was tired to visit my brother's place.

"Where are you going to stay?" William asked resting his chin on his palm.

"I can't stay with my friend. The apartment's already full. So I thought of staying at Evan and Jenna's place. Since they are not staying there anymore I thought we all will get time and privacy for ourselves." I shrugged my shoulders.

"Yeah that's good. But didn't they rent it out?"

"Yes. There's only one person for now. We will share it."

"Ok and when are you moving in?"

"Day after tomorrow maybe. Evan said he will come before me to make sure everything's all right and to check on the new tenant." I filled him in with the details. We talked like that for a few more minutes. We actually didn't talk about anything academic related at all.

I left the room with a smile. I felt so eased up after the meeting, swiping away all the anxieties I had. I looked to see if the man was still there. He was still on the chair, eyes closed and hands crossed across his chest. I thought he was asleep, so I came near him to wake him up. Instantly his eyes opened giving me a jump scare. He blinked his eyes and stared at me confusingly because of my flushed state.

With my hand on my chest to calm myself, "You may go in now. The director is free." I informed him with a smile giving a light bow. Why did I bow? Stupid me. It was a habit of mine something I picked up from my old school back in India. Strangely enough that man looked at me with a stunned look and smiled, bowing back too. That somehow erased the embarassment out of me. With that I left the room quickly.
