CHAPTER 16 - Hehe I Love Being Dominant.

The following chapter contains more gay than the last one did. Fair warning. {No, there isn't any gay smut. Not in this book. In the sequel there will be. >:) }
BTW I will put something like this in the beginning of any chapter that has much gay in it, unless the entire book falls under that category. There will be a few of these in here, counting this one, but I will put how ...shall we say severe the gay is.
Ok sorry for the rant. Read on.

DREW
I LITERALLY can not believe that my parents schemed to set me up with Vee. Who's parents do that?! After Vee left the rest of our early Christmas family reunion was spent by my grandparents and parents repeatedly teasing me about Vee.
The next day Vee and I acted normal around each other for the most part, but every time our eyes met I could feel my face turn red.

OCTAVEUS
I woke up Thursday to my phone vibrating on my nightstand. 'What the?' I grumbled nonsense and rolled over, failing to grab my phone three times before I sat up.
"Yeah?" I answered groggily, rubbing my face with one hand.
"Hey," I heard Drew's voice on the other line and immediately thought of Tuesday night at his Christmas party when we'd kissed. "Sorry if I woke you up."
"It's fine," I stifled a yawn. "What do you need?"
"Do you think you can come over?"
"Uh," I half-stuttered, surprised by his question. "Sure, I guess. But. . . why do you need me to come over?"
"Um. . ." Drew paused, and I could just imagine his face turning red. "I'll explain later."
"Alright," I sighed. "I'll be there in half-an-hour."
"Okay." Drew hung up first and I stretched, grabbing my jeans from where they were draped over the bedpost and putting them on. I went over to my dresser and grabbed a My Chemical Romance T-shirt, putting it on and getting my phone before sneaking out of the den.

I sighed as I limped down the street, the rain pouring onto the hood of my jacket. The sky glittered black, spotted with stars.
"Drew had better be thankful I'm coming at two in the morning," I grumbled to myself. What the hell could be so important this early? I walked up the steps to his house and knocked on the door. It swung open.
"Hey, what's up? Why did you need me to-- woah!" Drew grabbed me by the collar of my shirt and swung me inside, swiftly closing the door behind me.
"Shh!" He clamped his hand over my mouth. "You're going to wake everyone up."
I took his hand off of my mouth. "They're not already awake?"
His face flushed deep red. "No. . ."
I smirked at him. "So you're telling me that you called me at two in the morning to come over here, and none of your family knows?"
He turned an even deeper red and opened his mouth to speak, but couldn't seem to find something to say and closed it again. He looked at me, his face bright red. We stared at each other awkwardly for a couple seconds. Then I got a sudden impulse and grabbed his face in my hands, pressing my lips against his. His eyes widened in surprise and he caught his breath. Then the next thing I knew I was pinned to the wall and he was kissing me back. Not like a peck, but full out lip action and that thing. I was already lost in the kiss. He pulled away slightly for a brief second.
"Does this mean we're a thing now?" He asked, barely audible.
"Only if you greet me like this every time I walk through the door." I said and we locked lips again. He pulled away one more time, to a chorus of my whining.
"I can do that." He said and I pulled him into another round of kissing. I felt like I was floating, but at the same time I felt it ending. Desperation bubbled inside me and I grabbed his waist and, without really thinking, put him between me and the wall behind me. He grunted in surprise when he hit the wall, my arms still around his waist. His body relaxed after I held him there for a couple seconds, and he laced his hands behind my neck. The floating feeling in my chest increased as he pulled himself against me. I pulled away briefly, much to both of our reluctance.
"So why'd you need me to come down here at two in the morning?" I asked him quietly.
"I missed you." He whispered, like it was a forbidden secret. I smirked at him.
"You just saw me yesterday," I said. "Remember, school?"
He blushed. "It's stupid, I know."
"I never said that. Well, yes school is stupid, but what you said wasn't."
Drew looked like he was going to say something else, but then we heard a sound like a door opening and a small voice. Both of our heads turned in the direction of the sound, and Drew slid out from between me and the wall and hurriedly flicked off the light by the door, leaving us in complete darkness.
The small voice seemed to get closer, and Drew whispered, "It's Kilie."
"Why is she awake so early?" I asked him quietly. "Don't you humans sleep the entire night?"
"She doesn't sleep well during the winter," he explained. "Oh God, she's coming this way. Follow me."
He grabbed my hand and pulled me through the dark hallway, pushing me into a room and quickly shutting the door behind us. He listened by the door to see if Kilie had followed us while I looked around the room. It was dark, like the rest of the house, but my eyes could make out the shapes of the objects in the room. I walked over to what I guessed to be a nightstand and flicked on the lamp that sat on top of it. Dim light flooded the room and I noticed that I had been correct with my assumption about the nightstand. To the right of the nightstand was a full bed, the white sheets neatly made and the pillows perfectly aligned against the headboard. The floor was covered in fluffy brown carpet and there was a small dresser on the west side of the room. The walls were painted cream-brown and there was a mirror on the east wall, across from the dresser.
Drew looked over at me from his place by the door when I turned on the lamp and said, "This is the guest room."
   I nodded. "It's very. . . clean."
Drew smirked at me and said, "Yeah, no one's staying here right now, so it should stay clean for a little bit. At least until Kilie starts using it as a playroom. Then we're in trouble." I smirked and sat down on the edge of the bed. I liked how he said 'we're' referring to both of us, not just him and his family. It made me feel. . . happy, I guess. Drew walked over from the door and sat next to me.
"No one followed us?" I asked him, and he nodded.
   "Coast is clear," he said.
"Good." I said and lightly pulled his face toward mine and kissed him again. He held his lips against mine for a moment before inching closer to me and wrapping his arms around my waist. The same excited feeling filled my chest. I opened my mouth slightly against his, only to have the space filled by his kiss. Good God his kiss, as soon as his lips met mine I felt his teeth nibble slightly on my lower lip. I quietly groaned in pleasure. Once again, I felt as if I was floating. He moved closer to me until he was sitting on my lap, his legs wrapped around my waist, making his body pressed against mine. The feeling of his living body so close to mine set my heart racing faster than before. His hands were on either side of my face, holding it gently in his warm hands. He then knocked my hood off and ran his fingers through my hair, pressing his chest closer against mine. His heart was beating rapidly through his shirt, matching the speed of mine. I now felt like I was beyond just floating; now I felt like I was speeding along at a hundred miles an hour, flying through open air. I slid my hands over his back and started to lean backward, lying down on the bed with Drew on top of me. I rolled onto my side so that Drew and I were facing each other on our sides on the bed. My lips explored his collar bone, to his jawline and then back to his lips. He bit my lip again before pulling away, opening his eyes and looking at me.
We looked at each other for a couple seconds, Drew's legs still around my waist and my arms still around him. Then he curled his head against my chest and sighed.
"You're tired," I observed and he looked up at me again, a dazed look in his eyes.
"No I'm not," he said, then yawned. I smirked and rolled onto my back.
"Yes you are." I pulled him closer to me and he laid his head on my outstretched arm, using it as a pillow, his arms around my chest.
"Maybe a little," he admitted, his eyes half closed. "Just. . . don't leave yet."
"I won't." I reassured him. He curled his head on my shoulder and his breathing slowed. I could tell he wasn't sleeping, just resting. We lay on top of the covers on the bed together, not talking, just enjoying each other's warmth.
I'm not sure how long it took, but eventually Drew fell asleep and I stared at the ceiling, contemplating an excuse for being out of the den at two in the morning. I can worry about that later, I thought, my eyes slowly growing harder to keep open. I wrapped both arms around Drew and pulled him with me as I scooted up to the pillows on the front of the bed, lying down again and setting Drew back in his original position curled up against my side with his head on my shoulder. After I stopped moving he made a quiet whimpering sound and pulled himself closer to my body, moving his head onto my chest. I smiled slightly and leaned my head back against the pillows, closing my eyes. I let the dimness of the room and warmth from being with Drew lull me to sleep.

DREW
I woke up with a pale muscular arm wrapped around my shoulders and an unusually warm pillow. I blinked the sleep from my eyes and yawned, lifting my head. I was lying on the bed in the guest room of my house, with Octaveus.
I had been using Vee's chest as my pillow, he had his arm around my shoulders. My legs were wrapped loosely around his. His chest rose and fell as he breathed. His breaths were strangely uneven; he inhaled through his mouth and exhaled through long puffs from his nose. I looked up at Vee's face; he looked surprisingly calm, his pale face inhumanly beautiful and serene. His eyelids were black, so it almost looked like his eye sockets were empty. His bangs were pushed up away from his face so both of his eyes were completely visible— he had cat scratches shaved into his eyebrows. I never noticed how much pain was displayed on his face when he was awake, until I saw how he looked when he was sleeping. He looked so peaceful and at-ease. His mouth was parted slightly and I could see the tips of his fangs. I felt a sudden surge of love toward him that I've never felt for anyone before; it sort of surprised me, but then again also made me feel really happy.
He sighed and muttered something in French, shifting so that he was facing me and wrapping both arms around me, pulling me closer to him. I wrapped my arms around his waist and cuddled up to his chest. It wasn't until he moved one hand to stroke my hair that I realized he was awake.
"What time is it?" He murmured sleepily.
I shifted to look up at his face. "About four in the morning," I said. "Why?" He rubbed his eyes with the palm of one hand.
"You stayed with me the whole time?" He asked, almost incredulously, looking down at me.
   "Yeah, why wouldn't I have?" I responded.
"It's-- nothing," he said, sitting up and pulling me with him. "It's just that Choronuses. . . nothing."
"To be honest," I said, sitting up and leaning against his shoulder. "I don't know much anything about Choronuses."
"Oh," Vee said, waking up fully. "Well, do you want me to tell you about us?"
"Okay," I responded, cuddling up to him.
Vee took a deep breath, preparing himself for a speech. "Alright. Well, you know how I can't eat human food for too long without getting sick? It's because Choronuses can't digest human food very well. The acids in our stomachs are meant to dissolve meats, and straight meats, not the school's fatty, sugary, fake meats. We have to hunt every once in a while to stay healthy. And if we eat too much human food or don't hunt for an extended period of time, it almost poisons our body, and makes us really sick. That's why I missed a bunch of school that one time Summer got me to try the school's meatloaf."
"So the meatloaf literally poisoned you," I said to clarify.
   "In a sense, yeah."
"I am never eating school meatloaf again."
Vee chuckled. "Anyway, human food doesn't poison us to the point where we can die from it-- I mean, we can die if we don't hunt for, like, six months, but if we get sick once it won't kill us.
"We also have abnormal senses. For example, I can hear your sister talking in her sleep in her room right now. Something about flowers? I dunno. Anyway, we can hear, smell, and see things that humans can't. That's sort of why I may act skittish around you. What makes it dangerous for me to date you is Choronuses have more body strength than the average human does. Example, we have jaw power three times that of a werewolf, which is twice a wolf's. Not to scare you, but I could tighten my hand a little too much and your neck would snap like that." He looked down, almost guiltily. "We aren't exactly supposed to love humans. I'm the only Choronus in history to love a human, and it's really dangerous for both of us. I could make one wrong move with you and you could end up dead, and I'd be charged with murder, or be executed by the Choronian law for transgressing, whichever comes first. It's bad enough I'm gay, to the Choronian law it is, at least."
"You mean there hasn't ever been a gay Choronus before you?" I asked.
"No, there has, it's just being gay isn't. . ." He trailed off, searching for the right way to explain. "Okay, so a Choronus' main reason for living is to repopulate, right? If you're gay, you can't exactly repopulate. Lesbians can, but gays are strongly looked-down-upon. It's the same with Choronus- human relationships. If a Choronus and a human had a kid, there's a fifty-fifty chance the kid would be a Choronus, and even then the kid will lack some-- if not all-- of the usual Choronus traits.
"We're different with disabilities, though. If you have a disability or deformity, you're basically expected to be different. I'm not supposed to be able to walk at all. My muscular disease can affect any part of my body, it just starts in my legs. That is one of the bad disabilities I have. I was also born with a hyperactive brain, so I tend to get upset if I have nothing to do or think about. This is considered a 'good disability' in Choronus standards because that also means that I could learn more in a faster amount of time. I was supposed to skip from fifth grade to eighth, but my legs held me back to seventh. That's why I'm in all advanced classes, except PE and Health.
"Choronuses also have different. . . how do I word this. . . bodily changes than humans do."
I laughed lightly. "You mean puberty."
"Yeah," he laughed too. "Now don't get jealous, but my puberty doesn't include voice cracks for an extended period of time or hair in other places than your head."
"Lucky," I sighed, pretending to be mad at him.
"We only get voice cracks for about a month when our vocal cords are adjusting themselves to be able to lower our tone a lot without getting quieter. And as for the hair thing, the only other place hair grows-- at least for me-- is my tail. The bad thing is, you start to shed a lot more when you go through puberty."
   I laughed at him.
"No, I'm serious," he said smiling. "Every time I change my pants I find these little black hairs all over the inside of the legs and it's so annoying!"
That only made me laugh harder.
"Why is this so amusing to you?"
"It's just funny to hear you complaining about your puberty, when you don't even have to go through half of what I do."
"Oh, come on," Vee sighed sarcastically. "Like shaving is that bad."
"You don't even know," I said, smirking.
"I do," Vee said. "I have to shave my legs for gymnastics, so I do know." He gave me a pointed glare, but he was smiling. "I have to vacuum the surface of my bed literally weekly otherwise it just gets full of black cat tail hair."
"Can't you just cut the hair on your tail?" I asked.
"It'd make cleaning my bed a hell of a lot easier, but that's like trimming a cat's whiskers; it's getting rid of sensors. Besides, we use our tails for more than just balance you know."
"Really? Like what?" I said, smirking.
"Well, they can act as a third arm; they're good for holding on to things. And our tails are used during a certain ritual. . ."
"'A certain ritual', huh?" I said. "Such as-- oh. That."
Vee smirked. "Yep. That. It, specifically."
"Yeah, I got that far." I said, shaking my head at him.
"Anyway," he continued. "We also have our own diseases, but we can still get human diseases or disorders. It's just our diseases are much worse than a humans'." He looked down again. "That's another reason why it's dangerous for me to date you. If I were to pass a Choronian disease to you, you could die. And our diseases can be passed in almost any form of contact."
   "Oh," I said.
"Of course," Vee said. "We are all tested yearly to see if we have any diseases, and if we do are treated for it."
   "That's good," I said.
"Yeah," Vee chuckled lightly. He stared off into space for a moment, then looked down at me curled up against his side and smiled.
"What?" I asked. He shook his head.
"Nothing," he said. "You're just the first person that loves me for all of me."
"What do you mean?" I asked, slightly confused.
"Everyone else seems to just want me because of my looks. You're the first person to like my personality too."
"The people that only want you for your looks are snobby jerks," I said, not looking at Vee.
"So you mean Lily and her gang?"
   I chuckled. "Yeah."
Vee suddenly sighed and ran his hand through his hair. "What am I going to tell Jessie? I can't just say 'Oh, I was at my new boyfriend's house all night.' He'll freak!" Then he got a thoughtful look in his eyes. "But if he didn't know I left. . ." Suddenly Vee rolled off of the bed and grabbed his baseball hat, putting it on backwards. "I've gotta go," he said.
"Okay," I responded. "See you at school then."
   "Yeah," he smiled. "Bye."
