Chapter 4: I Wasn't Made That Strong
I can hear it now
The everlasting song
Roaring like a lion deep within me
I won't hold on long
I wasn't made that strong
Sweet surrender
Hold my heart and not let go.
Im letting go

Edmund squinted as they were shoved outside, apparently a messenger had spotted a search party. They were moving quickly. Edmund and Peter's hands were tied and they were forced to walk. By the time they arrived Edmund felt like he would pass out from any minute from lack of food and water.
Edmund held back a choked cry as Mannix tugged on the rope that was tightly tied around his wrists, his wrists were bleeding and raw.
"C'mon! Ya kings are too slow!" Mannix, yelled. Edmund swallowed hard. He wavered for a moment. Peter touched his arm to steady him.
"Keep moving, Ed." Peter whispered beside him. Edmund nodded numbly.
"Halt!" Mannix yelled. Everyone in their party stopped as they came upon the camp the men that went ahead had set up already.
"Luna! Get the 'kings' something to eat. Then meet me in my tent." Mannix yelled at one of the girls in their group. A girl with reddish-brown hair nodded silently and left.
Edmund and Peter were tied to poles for the night and they started talking.
"This is unfair." Peter stated. Edmund nodded in agreement they watched the men sit around a warm fire laughing and eating a hearty meal.
"Alot of things are unfair." The girl with reddish-brown hair returned with some water and stale bread. At least it isn't moldy. Edmund thought with a grimanced.
"You wouldn't know what is unfair. You haven't been through the terror we've been through." Peter snapped she visibly flinched.
"Oh yeah? Hmm. Let me think last time I checked you two are kings. You know what i will be doing after i feed you?"
"Eat?" Edmund guessed dryly. She snorted. And handed them the food.
"No. I'll go and 'entertain' Mannix. I'll be his property for the night." With that she was gone. Peter watched her in shock.
"I thought I was going through an injustice." He mumbled, Edmund barely heard him but still heard him.
"It's the same thing." He pointed out. Peter swallowed the bread and drank some water.
"Isn't that the girl with the baby?" Edmund asked. He had seen her holding baby while they traveled.
"Yes. I do believe it was." Peter mumbled.
Edmund felt tears pool in his eyes. The girl wasn't any older than Lucy. Inwardly he thanked Aslan that Lucy or Susan hadn't been taken.
