Frank

Alice is still driving me crazy! Every time I look at her, I get these pains in my chest, and I know it's her fault. Arthur has set me up with a blind date in an hour, which I'm quite nervous about. It could be anyone from Marlene McKinnon to Molly Prewett.
Anyway, after picking up the courage and getting dressed, I headed down the common room.

I gazed around the common room in its entire romantic splendor. The common room has never looked this good, I had to say. Two chairs had been set up with a scarlet tablecloth on top of the small table. Simple, yet efficient. My type of a date... At this thought, I narrowed my eyes. They knew me too well...

The lights were all of the suddenly dimmed, and I almost jumped in surprise. After calming myself down quickly, I looked around nervously. Was that supposed to happen? I don't think that was supposed to happen... I started fretting around, sweating slightly. My hands were getting clammy...

Suddenly, everything went to black, and I placed my hands over my eyes, yelling. Instead of touching my own flesh, I felt fabric across my eyes.
"Arthur?!" I yelled out loud, frowning deeply. "Is that you?! I can't see a thing!"
"Shush, Frank," a familiar voice snickered, and I scowled. "I know what I'm doing."

"Of course you do..." I muttered under my breath. Sighing, I closed my eyes and relaxed my nerves.
...I smell coconut! It must be her perfume. Oh, Gosh, no! I stared sweating horribly. Think Frank, think! I pressed my mind on, forcing myself to think.

...I've got it! I yelled inside my head. I'll use an alias, and use an Irish accent. A stupid idea, I had to admit, but I can't bear the embarrassment Arthur will put me through after this...
"Uh, hullo...!" I muttered softly, and I felt someone sit me down on a cushioned seat. To my surprise, I heard a soft voice answer back, and my heart skipped a beat.

"Hullo!" she had greeted back hesitantly and I could already imagine her warm smile on her face....
However, her voice was different... Slightly different. Was it her? I honestly couldn't tell... It must be! I sighed, and I forced those thoughts into the back of my head.

The evening flew by like a blur. We chatted for a while... It was obvious that we were extremely shy of each other. We didn't reveal our names either, which made me want to slap myself in frustration. I really did want to know if it was Alice or not...

She wanted to try out for the position of Chaser in Quidditch. I told her to go for it, even though I've never seen her play. But sadly, after I felt her warm smile on me again, someone called out, "Oy, lovebirds! It's late! Go back to your own rooms!" in which a volley of muffled laughter came after. I blushed bright red.

"Thanks for coming tonight," I whispered to the woman I sat with, standing wobbly. "I didn't think you'd actually come..." I still kept an Irish accent on, just in case.
"It's no problem!" She giggled. "It's been a slow month, anyway... Good night!" And then I heard the clack of high heels, fading off. I sighed, her shoulders slumping down.

However, I suddenly felt a warm pair of lips kiss me on the cheeks, and I gasped, my eyes widening under the cloth.
"Thanks," she whispered to my ear hurriedly, and then she ran off, the clack of her heels quick and paced.

I smiled dreamily.
