⁂☂ Plot ☂⁂

Jacob Legend was the first to enter the Cursed Vaults, but he wasn't the last to face their demise. Many years have passed since his disappearance, most presuming him dead or at Voldemort's side, but something just doesn't add up, and when a group of youngsters just starting out at Hogwarts tumble into the mystery they soon find they can't stop. Do you fancy their chances?  I sure as hell don't.

This fic is based off the Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery App (credits to Portkey Games and the Wizarding World) but besides the idea of the vault the majority of the plot is mine (minus canon characters etc.). For those of you who play the game, the Animagus and Werewolf quests will have the same endings and Conjuring a Patronus will be similar but will not have the same ending. R will also appear in this fic but will be a completely different person, so don't worry. All of the vaults will also be different to the vaults in the game, and what happens to Jacob will not be the same at all. Just like the game, it starts in Tonks's first year and ends in her seventh, all the ocs and canon characters being her age. Most of the fic will take place in the later years, but I aim to write 4-20 chapters per year.

PART 1, HOW THIS WORKS! - this fic is set at the same time as the Hogwarts Mystery app.  most canon characters are available for love interest (see canon characters chapter). each few years there will be a vault (hidden room with magical things they have to defeat) for the characters to discover, leading them to find more clues about Jacob's disappearance. other plots will also take place throughout the years. these are called quests (see quests chapter for more info) and they include things such as quidditch and a school newspaper to break up the mystery-solving! on your form, you can choose which quests you want to do, but I recommend choosing 3-6 because you will not get into them all

PART 2, RESPECT! - be kind to me and all participants otherwise expect to be blocked and reported, and please don't be upset if you don't get in as I'm picking the forms best suited to this apply fic, it's nothing personal (same goes with love interests and quests)

PART 3, CANON CHARACTERS! - myself and LIGHTNINGTHIEFGIRL (love you <33) have put so much hard work into the canon character's forms so you'll understand them and their personalities, so please please read them! this will be useful as all canon characters are available for love interests (other than Charlie Weasley who is aroace) but please check their sexualities before applying as they are not all attracted to all genders, and .... DRACO MALFOY HAS LITERALLY JUST BEEN BORN HE IS NOT IN THIS FIC PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST HIM THANK YOU

PART 4, FORMS! - all sexualities, genders and ethnic backgrounds welcome! I'm happy to accept characters you've used before, in fact sometimes those are even better. please comment the form where it says 'apply here' and put the form under 'YOUR CHARACTER'S NAME' otherwise I probably won't see it, and no ocs related to canon characters without permission (ask here) but no additions to the Weasleys

PART 5, ACTIVE READING! - BE AN ACTIVE READER. please. the more you read, vote and comment the more your character will feature, and the less you read, vote and comment the more chances your character will be sacrificed to the Vaults. the password is your fav tropes (these will be used in the fic so you enjoy it more) and please follow me so you see my mb announcements and shout this out on your mb. (if you do there's more of a chance you'll get in)

PART 6, RESERVATIONS! - if you're my mutual you can reserve a spot in one quest (not including the cursed vaults) and you can also reserve a love interest! reserve at the spaces next to the applicable quest/love interest! (if you don't want to overstep but we follow each other and you want to reserve, just ask! I don't bite haha)
