SEVEN NEVILLE

That. Was. Terrifying. I thought we were going to crash into that wall! No, I though we were going to fall when the tracks disappeared!

"So there's good news and bad news." Berry said. "You really are Perseus Jackson! But it seems as though the waterfall is not going to heal your memory."

"Why not?" Percy asked. "And call me Percy."

"You will find that out when your memory does come back." Berry replied.

We can to a wall and the ride stopped. Where was the door?

The goblin said something in another language. Whatever it was, Percy seemed to know what he said. A section of the wall slid upward, revealing pipes and piles of silver Sickles, golden Galleons, and bronze Knuts. Berry the goblin was right. This is even more than Harry had! And Ron told me Harry had a small fortune.

"The gold ones are Galleons," Berry said. "Seventeen silver Sickles to a Galleon and twenty-nine Knuts to a Sickle, it's easy enough to understand."

Berry said something in another language again three bags appeared on the ground in front of Percy, Grandma, and me. We all piled some money into our bags. I was uncomfortable taking Percy's money. It must've shown on my face, because Percy said, "it's okay. If you're uncomfortable taking this money, just remember: I'm just as uncomfortable having all this money in the first place." That made me feel a little better.

When our bags were full, we walked out of the room. Berry spoke in another language again and the wall slid back into place, making it look like a wall again. No one would have ever suspected it for being a door, if they had gotten past the waterfall successfully in the first place.

We all rode back to the entrance, almost hitting the walls and thinking we were about to fall again. It was just as scary as the first time. We had no conversations(we now knew that we weren't going to get any answers from Berry), and then we walked back to the bookstore.

"Sorry for the wait," Grandma said to the person at the desk. He just nodded and handed us our books as we played for them.

"Where do we go next?" Percy asked, eager to see more of Diagon Alley.

"We can split up," I suggested. "Percy can get his wand and I could get some new robes."

"We are not splitting up," Grandma said, "unless someone trustworthy shows up. Remember Percy's dream?"

That's when I heard a familiar voice. "Neville?"

"Hagrid?" I asked, turning around. And I was right, Hagrid was standing right there.

"I'm glad yer coming back ter Hogwarts this year. Who's this?" Hagrid asked, noticing Percy.

"He's Percy Jackson. He lost his memory." I answered. "Hagrid, are you okay?"

Any part of Hagrid's face that wasn't covered in hare had turned pale.

"P-Percy J-Jackson." he stammered so much he sounded like Quirell during my first year at Hogwarts.

"What? Hagrid? What's wrong? Do you know Percy?" I asked.

"N-no," Hagrid replied. "I-I've n-never heard of h-him." That was obviously a lie, but decided that I'd ask Percy about it when his memory came back.

I looked at Percy. He was a little pale too, but that must be the really huge part. He wouldn't remember anything anyway, so even if he had seen him before, it would still be weird seeing Hagrid.

A few minutes later...

Hagrid was waiting outside as I was getting my robes. Then I heard a voice next to me. "Oh, hi, Longbottom."

I turned. It was Harry's nemesis, Draco Malfoy.

"Oh, hi, Malfoy." I replied, "You've been invited to Hogwarts? But you are a Death Eater!"

"Actually, I never wanted to be. I was forced to. Now that I ran away from home, which is like my prison, I've been invited back." Malfoy replied.

"You didn't want to be one? You ran away from home?" I asked, not believing him. "Now you're going to say you were trying to protect Harry or something!"

"Ummm, I was actually." Draco said, and I opened my mouth to say something, but he talked first. "But I'm horrible. Everyone expects me to be just like my stepmother and father. They both talk about Purebloods and Mudbloods. I don't care about all that, but if I didn't act like that, I would never hear the end of it from my father."

"Stepmother?" I asked. "Who's your mom then?"

"Ummm, I'm afraid I'm not aloud to tell you that. You wouldn't believe me anyway." Malfoy said. "Is Harry coming this year? I assume you've been keeping in touch?"

"I actually don't know. He promised to keep in touch, but I haven't received a single letter." I replied. "Then we found Percy, and he had lost his memory-"

"Percy?" Malfoy asked. "You found Percy?"

"Yeah. You know him?" I asked.

"He's my cousin." Malfoy replied.

"Oh."

"He lost his memory again?" Malfoy asked, sounding panicked.

"What do you mean again?" I asked suspiciously. "When? How?"

Malfoy groaned, realizing that he'd said something he didn't mean to. "Nothing, nothing," he said. Yeah, I totally believed that.

"Yeah," I said. "Of course."

"I know you probably don't believe that I was trying to protect Harry, and I am completely terrible at it, but-"

"First of all I believe that, but there are some others who won't be so easily convinced." I interrupted. "Second of all, since when did you call Harry 'Harry'?"

"You do? Oh, I call him that all the time at Camp Ha- at my summer camp. It's in America." Malfoy said. "Just not when my father or stepmother are around. Or almost any of the Hogwarts students."

"Almost?" I asked.

"Some go to my camp. There are hundreds of people there." He answered. "Some kids from Hogwarts go there. The people there are my relatives. The Hogwarts students there I can trust with secrets because they are family." He paused, then talked some more. "Well, I can trust most of them."

"You have hundreds of family members?" I asked. "How is that even possible?"

"Halfblood families are confusing." Malfoy mumbled.

"You're a Halfblood? I thought you were always saying you're Pureblood!" I said. "I mean, it doesn't really matter, but still. Did your father know?"

"I don't think so. My mom wasn't exactly Muggle, but she wasn't exactly a witch, either." Malfoy replied. "I don't think my dad was ever told."

"How can a person not be a Muggle, but not be a witch at the same time?" I inquired.

"Uh..." Malfoy was saved from answering when Madam Malkin came in, gave Malfoy his robes, and told him he could go.

So he left.

A new kid came (I don't know who he was, I think he was a first year, but I wasn't sure.) and Madam Malkin finished with me and gave me my new robes.

I didn't get a chance to talk to the new kid. I wondered if they were nervous about going to Hogwarts and what house he wanted to be in. Maybe we could be friends!

I already had some friends. Like Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and Luna. But I also had a lot more "friends." Like the ones that were only Harry's friends because he was famous, because after the war I became famous.

But I never wanted my "friends", I wanted my friends. Loyal friends.

Then I started to wonder, is Percy my friend?
