NINE NEVILLE

"So, how did your trip to Diagon Alley go?" I asked. We were sitting at he kitchen table. "I mean, the part I wasn't there for."

"Oh. Well, nothing really happened in most of them. I just went into the shop and bought my school supplies." Percy replied. "The only place where something strange happened was Olivanders."

"What happened?" I asked.

"Well, we walked into the shop and Olivander came up to us." Percy said "He knew I needed a wand and went to find one for me. When he gave it to me and told me to try it out, so I did. I waved it around and then the ground started shaking! It was like an earthquake. Both Olivander and your grandmother fell over. I helped your grandmother up and Olivander got up and said 'that's the one!'"

"Wait, so the first wand you tried was the right one?" I asked.

"Yes." Percy said. "So then he told me it was eleven and a half inches, Hazelnut wood, and the scale of a Hippocampus as the core. It cost ten Galleons."

"That cost more than Harry's wand!" I exclaimed. I started at him in wonder. How did he make the Earth shake when he waved his wand? Why did it cost more than Harry's wand? Was it more powerful than Harry's wand? Even though Percy didn't look like much, but I had a feeling he was more powerful than he let on.

Though it's not like he'd remember how powerful he is.

"Please stop staring at me!" Percy said. "I really don't like it." A pan on a counter behind us exploded and Percy gasped. "Did I do that? Sorry, I didn't mean to break anything."

"It's okay. We can fix it." I said. My grandma was suddenly in the room, with her wand out.

"What happened in here?" She asked.

"Sorry," Percy replied. "I got agitated and then a pot exploded." He pointed to the broken pot on the counter.

"It's okay," she said, "young wizards who haven't gone to Hogwarts yet sometimes do accidental magic. It's not unusual. I heard Harry accidentally blew up his cousin's Aunt in his third year."

"Blew up his cousin's Aunt?!" Percy exclaimed. "I can't remember my Aunt. Is Harry's cousin's Aunt okay?"

"Yeah," I said. "The Ministry deals with that stuff. They can undue accidental magic. Apparently his cousin's Aunt made Harry really angry. She said a bunch of stuff about his parents and he didn't like that."

"So do you need to wait for the Ministry to fix the pot, or..." Percy asked, faltering as my grandma pointed her wand at the pot.

"Reparo," she said, and the pot was fixed, good as new.

"Cool," Percy said when he saw the magic.

"Can I see your broom again?" I asked.

"Sure," Percy said, handing me the broom. It was still shiny.

Then Percy jumped out of his seat. "Mrs. Longbottom, do you have a calender anywhere?"

"Yes," my grandma replied, "over there on the wall." Percy rushed over there.

"It's August twenty fifth!" He exclaimed.

"What does that-" I started, but then I realized. "We need to send our owl!"

My grandma ran out of the room really fast and returned with an owl and a note that she had just written a few seconds later. Then she opened a window and sent the owl on its way to Hogwarts.

"So, Mr. Weasley is a teacher now? What is he teaching?" I asked. "I would guess Muggle Studies."

"Well, I guess you'll find out when you get there." My grandma replied.

"Yeah," I said. "Well here's your broom back, Percy." I gave him back his Firebolt Two.

"Thanks," Percy said. "It's getting late. Can I go to bed?"

"Of course," my grandma replied. "We have an extra bed in Neville's room. You can use it if Neville agrees."

"Yeah, of course," I replied. "Come on Percy. I'll show you the way." I walked down the hallway with Percy following me.

We entered my room. It was dark blue and had two beds on either side of the room.

"Thanks," Percy said, collapsing into his bed and falling asleep. I decided to follow his example and I also went to sleep.
============================================

I didn't have any dreams, which was lucky, because with all that had happened recently, if I did have a dream, it probably would have been a really bad nightmare.

Either way I still woke up in the middle of the night.

Percy was screaming again. I looked over at him and saw his pale face. This could only mean one thing: another nightmare for Percy.

My grandma came in a few seconds later with her wand out. Then she saw Percy and came to the same conclusion I had.

"What was your dream Percy?" I asked. "Was You-Know-Who in it?"

"Yes," Percy said. "There was Narcissa again, and this time there was also someone named Lucius Malfoy. Do you know him?"

"I know his kid, Draco Malfoy," I said. "He used to be a Death Eater."

"So this guy, Lucius, was talking to the You-Know-Who person," Percy said. "You-Know-Who was really angry that one of his Death Eaters, Draco, ran away. Lucius was almost as angry. You-Know-Who is now trying to find Draco, and didn't punish Lucius. Lucius is helping him."

"Draco is going to Hogwarts this year," I said. "He seemed to know you. He said you'd lost your memory before."

"I did?" Percy asked.

"I guess so. He also said that he was trying to protect Harry but he admitted he was terrible at it," I replied.

"Do you think we should warn him?" Percy asked.

"Warn him?" I asked. "Like warn him that You-Know-Who is after him?"

"Yeah. We could use an owl," Percy suggested.

"That's a good idea!" I exclaimed. "I'll get our owl and a letter. Wait, has the owl come back yet?"

"Yes," my grandma answered.

"Good," I said, and I ran out of the room.

I got out a quill and a paper and started to write. I decided not to write Draco's name.

Percy just had a dream. Apparently You-Know-Who and your dad are searching for you. Percy suggested us warning you because we don't want you to be caught. We don't know what they'd do to you.
Sincerely,
Neville
