Why do you not use guided projectiles Mr. Sci Fi Man?

A/N: WHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, more procrastination and dumbfuckery!

Also, SAAM stands for Semi-Active-Air-to-Air-Missile

So...

I was thinking about Halo and Star Wars the other day...

And I realized...

No one ever used guided weapons...

Like missiles...

Stop flying around and dog fighting like it's world war two, and use guided weaponry. You're more likely to hit your target with a guided missile than you are if you're using a cannon or blaster.

In Halo, casualty rates would be lower if you cleared the LZ before hand, and they would also be lower if the UNSC WASN'T USING KINETIC PROJECTILES FROM HEAVY ARTILLERY AND SHOOTING ENEMY VECHILES WITH SOMETHING THAT CAN'T BE EVADED IMMEDIATELY. You take enemy ship, you take missile, mix the two together and boom, no more missile or enemy ship.

Same goes for Star Wars. Your fighters have the wing space and internal weapon bays, use them. Only times I've ever seen projectile guidance in Star Wars is in the games, when people are getting their asses kicked by buzz droids, when the Grand Inquisitor is planting A FUCKING HOMING BEACON, and when Luke gives the targeting computer the middle finger and uses space magic to guide his shot, which is also another reason to use missiles.

Anyway, thanks for coming to my Ted Talk, and have a nice rest of your day.
