AS MAVIS walks out of the hair and makeup trailer, she bumps into the one person she doesn't want to see. Harry. "Oh shit, I'm sorry," she says helping him pick up the loose papers he had dropped when she bumped into him and  moving out of the way to let him into the trailer. 

" No worries," he smiles, " You alright?" He holds out his hand for Mavis to grab to help herself up from the kneeling position she was while whilst picking up the papers . 

" Yeah, thank you," she replies, taking Harry's hand. It bothers her that he's being so nice. 

After wrapping up filming that day, Olivia Wilde, the director, calls Harry and Mavis into her office. Their respective managers are also in the room. They sit in front of her desk in leather seats and she offers them both something to drink. "I'm alright, thank you," Mavis says. 

After settling in,  Olivia says, " Well, there's already buzz surrounding the movie, but after further discussion, we think a pr stunt would be beneficial to the success of the film." 

 Mavis looks at Harry, confused. His face is stoic, like he's unfazed by what was just said, " Um, sorry if this is a stupid question, by pr stunt, you mean you want us to like fake date? Like be in a fake relationship?" 

"Yes, that's exactly what it means," Mavis' manager, Lauren, informs her. 

" I'm alright with it, if you are as well of course," Harry says gesturing and looking  towards Mavis. She adjusts herself on the seat, looking down at her fingernails. She's only really been in one relationship, and now they expect her to just fake it with someone else. And it's not that she can't fake it, Mavis is an actress after all. She thinks to herself that she wouldn't mind, if it was with someone else, it's just the fact that it's Harry. 

But, fuck it.

"Okay," she shrugs nonchalantly, seeming as if the idea of faking a relationship, doesn't bother her whatsoever, as Harry had done just moments earlier.

" Okay, that's great," Harrys manger, Jeff, says, " We've drafted a contract so if you guys could read that, then sign at the bottom, we'll be good to go." He says handing Mavis and Harry each a printed copy of the contract. 

Mavis' eyes scan the contract, and it all seems relatively straight forward, so she scratches her signature along the dotted line on the bottom of the paper. The contract said basic things such as: paparazzi walks with each other, articles being written about the pairs relationship, and being affectionate with each other in public.  Harry glances at her then does the same. 

" CAN WE JUST make this as quick and easy as possible," Mavis says as she and Harry are about to go on a "date". 

" What? Are you not excited to passionately make out with me," Harry laughs, and Mavis holds back her own. She thinks it would be hypocritical to laugh at Harry's jokes when she tells all her friends how much she hates him. 

" Haha. Very funny," Mavis retorts, strong sarcasm echoing in her tone. " On a more serious note, are you ready?" 

" Yeah, let's go." Harry laces his fingers with Mavis'. His larger hand fitting perfectly in hers. They walk into the restaurant, cameras loudly clicking around them. Mavis ignores them, moving her body closer to Harry's, hoping it would make them seem more like a couple. 

They are led to a table and Harry slides into the seat across from Mavis. After the both of them scan the menu briefly, Mavis strikes the conversation by asking Harry, " So, what got you into acting." 

" I guess I always had a passion for it, I was just too worried to act on it because of what people would say. Now, I don't care as much." There's a slight pause before Harry continues, " Anyways, enough with this classic first date stuff, we obviously are going to spend a lot of time with each other, so let's make this fun, and not awkward." 

" And what, by your standards is classic first date conversation?" Mavis says with a side smile.

" Oh, y'know, like get-to-know-you questions." 

" Sounds like you've had a lot of experience." 

" And you haven't?" Harry asks, his tone indicating that he's genuine, instead of the sarcastic tone Mavis was using. 

" No, I've only had one boyfriend, so not a lot of first dates." 

"One?"

"Yep, four years of my life I spent in that relationship. Looking back on it, it definitely wasn't worth it."

" See, I probably wouldn't know this about you if we were acting like it was our first date."

"Alright, well now I get to ask you something. Hmm, have you ever been in a pr stunt before, besides me of course." 

" Yeah." 

"Who?" Mavis says shocked. 

" That wasn't part of the question," Harry says shaking his head. Mavis rolls her eyes.  Just then, the waitress comes by to take their orders. Once placed, Harry resumes the conversation as if no interruption had occurred. 

"Now, it's my turn to ask you something." 

"Ask away."

"Why did you and your boyfriend break up? You don't have to answer." 

"Oh," Mavis says taken aback by how forward Harry is. She wasn't expecting things to get that personal, "Well, it's pretty simple actually, he cheated on me." 

"Oh that's awful, I'm sorry." 

"The past is the past." 

"I've never been to this restaurant before," Maivs says in a sad attempt to change the subject, since the previous one had left a thick tension in the air between them, "have you?" 

"Once. It's pretty good." It's a cute restaurant, had a 50's vibe to it. The lighting is dim, and old jazz music plays through the restaurant. The chairs have red and white plaid cushions, and the waitress wear poodle skirts. Everything on the menu had a reference to the 50's and Mavis thought it was very niche. 

"It's very niche don't you think?"

"Yeah in a way, it's kinda fun though."

Mavis opens her mouth to speak when the waitress comes by with their food. The food on the menu was very confusing to Mavis. It had tacos, burgers, pasta, and more. Maybe that was just an American thing. 

They eat their food in a comfortable silence, small talk being made from both sides in order for it not to be too awkward. "Well, we should probably get going," Harry suggests. 

"Yeah, probably, wouldn't want to keep the paparazzi waiting." 

The pair head outside the restaurant, and Harry goes to the valet to get his car. While they wait for Harry's car to be pulled around, they play up the romance. They stand across from one another, Harry's arms wrapped around Mavis' waist. She looks up at him with a small smile, and wraps her arms around his neck. Mavis stands on her toes getting closer to Harry's lips. "Can I kiss you?" Harry asks, watching as Macis nods that it's okay. 

Their lips graze before Harry pulls Mavis closer to him, he deepens the kiss, biting the bottom of Mavis' lip. When her mouth opens he slips his tongue into her mouth, waiting for her to follow. She does. Mavis slows the kiss, pulling out of it, then pressing her lips to Harry's once more. Her pulls Mavis into a hug, kissing the top of her head, and whispers to her, "Still want to make this as quick and easy as possible?" Sarcasm lingers in his voice. 

Mavis laughs covering her mouth with her hand, "Oh God, I can't believe you remembered me saying that."
