8. My greedy little pig
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
"She's just really cranky these days."
💖P E R C Y💖
"It's been five damn days, you know... You have to talk to him somehow." Percy was still relentlessly trying to persuade me to talk to my brother, whom I have managed to ignore these past five days.
We were currently at the Council's office, cleaning the room because I was stupid enough to land my ass in detention...again. Fortunately, it was Percy who came to my rescue and saved me from Mr. Pettigrew.
"Percy, if my brother really wanted to say sorry to me then he himself should come to me and say sorry, not you who keeps on being a bloody messenger." I growled as I threw the stack of paper in the box.
"Chill girl." Was all he said. I continued to work in one corner silently, stacking one paper in top of the other.
A moment later, he opened up another conversation, "Did you know that your brother is hanging out with this chick? I don't know her name but from what I've heard, she's nice."
I waved him dismissively, indicating that I was done with this conversation. "No, and I don't care.
Once we packed up, Percy helped me get up and we dusted ourselves, "I'm hungry."
"Then, what are you waiting for? Let's go eat!"
We ended up on McDonald's...again. Unfortunately, a tragedy happened.
"WHAT?!" I fanned my face as I tried to compose myself, "How can you tell right in my freaking face that you ran out of Coffee Float? How can you even run out of those? They are like infinite!" I slammed both of my hands from the counter in annoyance but Percy had other plans.
"Forgive her," I struggled against his firm hold on my waist as he pulled me away from the counter, "She's just really cranky these days." He chuckled nervously at the girl who smiled back, "I completely understand, my boyfriend always has to deal with me. You guys are cute, by the way."
I completely blushed at that statement. "No-no, he-he's not m-my boyfri-friend!" I stuttered while I tried to calm down my profusely scarlet tinted cheeks.
"We'll just take two cokefloats, two cheeseburgers, three chicken nuggets, and two large fries." He smiled at the girl on the counter apollogetically.
There were many mysteries in my mind yet still I couldn't figure out this one, "How come you've ordered two of everything except for chicken nuggets?" To be honest, I was kind of suspicious to whom he was gonna give the third one to... Too bad, I love chicken nuggets.
He chuckled before ruffling my beautiful hair, "Hey!"
"I knew you'd want them so I ordered two for you. You're greedy when it comes to food."
I snorted, "True, I'm a greedy little pig."
He laughed at my statement before hugging me from behind, "But you're my greedy little pig."
What?
Sensing that I had tensed up against his touch, he slowly removed his hands from my waist.
If anyone told me that this would happen a month ago, I'd probably laugh then run them over with a car. However, it was Percy, this guy who hated me my entire life with a reason I have yet to know, the guy I had a crush on back in middle school, hoping I'd spark a romance like those cliché stories about the brother's bestfriend, and the guy I hated because he hated me first, who was now making unnecessary feelings emerge from the depths of my heart.
"-staying over until Sunday."
I snapped out of my daze, "I'm sorry, what?"
"I said, I'm staying over until Sunday. Your brother invited me."
Did I or did I not hear him correctly? "So, you're sleeping at home?"
He shrugged, "Yeah, that's what sleepover usually means, right?" He flashed me this adorable smile with his dimples showing. That's hot.
"What's hot?"
Oh God! Did I just say that out loud? I mentally face palmed myself at my stupidity, "Nothing, I said that it's hot." That's the worst excuse ever, since it's basically -1000 degrees outside.
He did not say anything and I was thankful for that, otherwise my brain would shut down and my useless good for nothing mouth would take over.
As we continued to walk towards his car, another silence fell between us. But it wasn't an awkward silence, it was more of a silent and comfortable silence that made you recall your whole day and be happy about it.
"Here, I know that you were freezing back there so take this and be comfortable. I'll turn the heater on." He smiled at me and set himself to work. Is this guy serious? He's like straight from a romance novel, too cute, I can't handle the feels.
I sniffed the jacket, Oh God, even he smelled hot.
I had to look over the mirror for the entire ride while we ate silently (partly because we accidentally touched then my fingers started tingling) because I didn't want him to see my face which now resembled a ripe tomato, mind you.
"See you later." He winked and left me at my house's lawn as he drifted towards their house to get his clothes.
I sighed dreamily as he sped off. To be honest, I'm starting to like Percy again. Both his caring yet playful and the serious yet possessive attitudes were the reasons why I fell for him back then, but he started hating on me and I didn't know why.
So, heartbroken as I was, I moved on from him and started hating him back. Turns out, we just needed a little bit of understanding to become friends again.
But that wasn't what was bothering my mind. It was the fact that I could so easily fall for his charms. I, Selene, the obnoxious, scary and bothersome kid who built a wall greater than the Great Wall of China around her, was actually falling for this guy who had hated her for a long time and suddenly became friends.
Maybe it is just in the heat of the moment?
Well, whatever it was, I didn't put much hope on it.
So, that's that...I'll just leave it there.
I'm actually happy for them, hopefully it'll get better...I still don't know Lucy, though.
Meh.
So, question, what do you think happens during this sleepover? Absolutely nothing.
Lots of love,
Elizabeth Bennet
P.S. If you know her, I love you!
