Chapter 17

No one has heard from the triplets for a week. Now knows where they are or what they're doing, well except Kyoya (cause he knows everything).

Right now, they are all sitting around trying to figure out what to do.

Tamaki has been losing his mind, calling almost every five minutes and texting every two.

Haruhi has been in Tamaki's emo corner since the triplets haven't returned. She didn't even know that he said anything to her, too focused on the pain in her stomach from eating to much, and was now feeling incredibly guilty.

She was planning on apologizing to them on Monday but they hadn't shown up.

Hani was sitting, eating his cake with a pout on his face, when a thought occurred to him.

"Hey Tama-chan, Haru-chan, have you thought about asking Kyo-chan if he knows something?"

Everyone freezes at the question and slowly turns to the glasses-clad demon known as Kyoya.

"Do you know where they are, Kyoya?" Tamaki and Haruhi said together, a deadly aura around them.

Kyoya cleared his throat, "Yes, I know where they are. But, I have a reason as for not telling you sooner."

"And what's that?"

"They're finally letting in visitors today. I can take you all if you like. Just know that the sight might not be very pretty to look at."

Everyone hesitates but nods and they all walk to Kyoya's limo that just pulled up at the front of the school. They all get in and Kyoya whispers the destination into the drivers ear.

Their eyes all widen when the driver pulls up to a hospital and Kyoya steps out, thanking the driver with a wave of his hand.

Once everyone is out, they head inside the massive hospital. As they walk down the white, pristine hallways, all of the doctors and nurses slightly bowed to him before resuming what they were doing.

They eventually reached a mahogany door with the numbers '409' plaqued on the dark wood. He knocked and heard a hoarse voice faintly say 'Come in' from inside the hospital room. They opened the door and walked through, meeting a tragic sight before them.

Kuro looked absolutely heartbreaking.

He was hooked up to a heart rate and blood pressure monitor, multiple IVs attached to his arms and hands, intravenously giving him saline, chemo, and worst of all...stem cells.

There was a tube down his throat so he could breath and wires on his bald head connected to an EEG.

It took the hosts their all to not cry at the sight of him.

Hikaru and Kaoru were huddled together in a chair in the corner of the room.

Kaoru was cuddled into Hikaru's chest as he sobbed, Hikaru silently crying while  simultaneously running his fingers through his brothers strawberry blonde hair.

"Hi, Hika-chan, Kao-chan. We just came to see how Ku-chan was. So...How is he?"

Kaoru's head shot up and he started wiping his tears away furiously before answering.

"Th-They had *sniff* t-to put h-him into a *sniff* m-medical i-induced coma."

"Why?"

"His body wouldn't of been able to endure the pain and anguish of the side effects of the chemo and stem cells. It's the least painful option for him and that's all that matters," Kyoya said, cutting into the small conversation.

"Since his stem cell treatment is almost over, they will wake him up and he will then be moved to the ICU so he can be monitored around the clock," He added.

While they were conversing, Haruhi went and held Kuro's hand.

"I'm so sorry, Ku. I wasn't even paying attention to the conversation and ignored you. I'm sorry, just ... please make it through this. I can't lose someone else so close to me. We really miss you, Kuro. So, please, come back to us soon," She whispered quietly.

They couldn't have known each other for more than three weeks and he was already her best and closest friend.

She hated that she caused this.

She turned to the older ⅔ of the triplets, expecting to face their wrath but was instead met with a gentle hug.

"It's okay, Haruhi. We know that you didn't do it on purpose and it was mostly just him letting himself get worked up over the whole situation.

So ... we forgive you and we're sure that he has already forgiven you."

They let go as the doctor walked in with an injection in his hand.

"Hello, I'm Hurakaji Sato, Kuro's main oncologist."

He shook hands with Hikaru & Kaoru and then bowed in respect to Kyoya.

"I just came in to stop his stem cell treatment & chemotherapy then wake him up."

They nod then Dr. Sato detached the stem cell and chemo bags, throwing them away in a hazardous waste basket. He then flicks the syringe in his hand to get the air bubbles out then injects it into the unconscious boys frail arm slowly.

Once he's done, he covers it up with a bandage and pats his head affectionately.

"He should be waking up within the hour. He is going to be very disoriented and confused so you guys are going to have to help him.

Once he's awake and calm, call for us and we'll replace the tube with a mask and take him to the ICU. He should be able to go to his normal room within a week if there are no further complications regarding his health.

Now, if you'll excuse me," The doctor informed in a very businesslike way and swiftly left the room.

After another 25 minutes of waiting, they all heard a groan and they snapped their heads toward the boy in the white hospital bed.

They all rushed over as the boys dark amber eyes fluttered open.

With tears in his gorgeous eyes, he reached his hands up to get the annoying tube out of his throat.

Hikaru and Kaoru grabbed one hand each and brought them away from his face while gently scolding, "Nu-uh, no, Ku. We know it's annoying and uncomfortable but it's helping you breathe easier. The doctor is gonna come and take it for you in a minute but you have to calm down."

Kuro nodded and looked at his friends around the room and waved slightly. They all waved back while Kyoya pressed the red 'HELP' button that was beside Kuro's bed.

A minute later, the same doctor and two nurses paced into the room.

Upon seeing Kuro awake, they rushed over and started checking all of the machines that were around him.

While the nurses got the mask and oxygen ready, the doctor started gently pulling the tube out of his throat causing his eyes to prick with tears and emitted a series of gags and small sobs.

Once it was out, he started coughing and wheezing, prompting the nurses to quickly place the mask around his mouth & nose and set the oxygen beside him.

Then they left to get a wheely bed to bring him to the ICU.

Kuro turned to his brothers & Haruhi and opened his arms widely, causing all three of them to dive in with tears in their eyes & streaming down their faces.

Kuro was whispering sweet nothings to them as he stroked their hair with a fond smile.

Hani turned to Kyoya and started whispering to him quietly.

"Hey Kyo-chan, Why does Ku-chan have all of those wires on his head?"

"Their monitoring his brain waves, Hani-senpai.

He's been having some unexplained seizures and they need to be on the lookout of what may be triggering them."

Everyone went silent at the information of yet another health complication that the boy may be developing.

Kuro smiled brightly, despite his situation, through his oxygen mask and explained.

"It's really just a precaution as well as a way to tell when I have them and how often. I've had them many times before now so it really is just a precaution."

The nurses and doctor then came in with the wheely bed but paused when they noticed the tension.

"Did we interrupt something?"

"No, I was just explaining to them about the EEG and my seizures."

"Oh, okay. Well, we're going to transfer you to this bed now so do you guys care to help pick the sheets he's on up and move him to this bed?"

They all nodded and got into position.

Mori, Kyoya, and Tamaki grabbed the corners while Honey, Hikaru, and Kaoru supported the middle all the while Haruhi held the boys hand and whispered soothing words of encouragement into his ear.

"One...Two...Three!"

All of them lifted him up and placed him down on the wheely bed and backed away.

They all watched with heavy hearts as he wheeled towards the ICU, thinking about all the things the poor boy had to go through.

Hi guys, I'm really sorry I'm not updating as often as I wanted to but I have End of Course exams and finals coming up and it's been nothing but review and speeding through everything we haven't covered yet so it's a bit chaotic. I'll be able to write more towards the end of May and all throughout the summer, so have an eye out for updates then. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter and if you find any errors while reading, don't hesitate to tell me so it can be fixed. I know Kuro has a lot of medical issues but that is kind of the whole story, the relationship between the triplets & all their friends while also helping Kuro out with all of his problems.
Sorry ... for rambling ...
Bye!!!!
