Playing Around - chapter 2

Retrieving the bag of money from the client Michael saluted the man and left his business card just incase the client wanted to hire him again.

"Well then, what should I do with all of this money?" Michael thought out loud as he thought about the new guns that he saw in the future that were about to come out.

"Maybe I should replace some of my gun's parts with new ones, they are starting to get louder. And that won't be good on my hunting." He said wondering out loud, his eyes then gazed at the moon high on the night sky. "The moon sure does look lovely tonight."

"It sure does." A new voice spoke from behind him as Michael turned around to see the butler.

"Oh! It's demon-chan." Michael said with a smile. "I haven't seen you since... well this afternoon." He said as he laughed at his own joke.

"Quiet you imbecile!" The childish voice spoke from behind the demon.

"And is that baby lord hiding behind your tail coat again?" Michael said with a voice made to talk to babies.

"I am no baby, you idiot." The child said.

"Well you sure cry like one." Michael taunted as he tried to make him even more angry.

"I would advise you to not speak to my master in that manner." The demon stepped in.

"Here comes mama bear to protect her cub!" Michael said cackling in laughter.

In a flash a knife was aimed at Michael's throat, but knowing he's an assassin he easily dodged it. He landed on a lamp post. His balance off as he swung his arms wildly with a squeal. "Wowie, that was close, I almost lost my head. Relax mama bear I'm only playing around." Michael said with a laugh.

"Enough of this, I want to ask you a question." The boy spoke.

"Yes little cub?"

"Enough nicknames!" The boy shrieked in annoyance. "I want to talk about the man that you killed for joy yesterday."

"Joy?" Michael said looking confused. "Never met her." He said shrugging and looking away.

"Stop joking around! I'm serious."

"Well hi serious I'm not your dad." As he said that he bursted out laughing. "Wow, that's getting old really fast." He said wiping a tear off his eye.

A shiny object was thrown at his chest and he easily caught it. His hand was clasped around the shinning metal with his eyes widened.

"You need better aim mama bear." Michael said with a grin, resulting in the demon to grow annoyed. "And try not throwing such expensive silverware at strangers, you might get hurt."

"We need to talk." The boy said irritated.

"Aren't we doing that right now?" Michael said as he yawned getting bored over the conversation.

"In my office." The small child said.

"Well I don't like being ordered around, it hurts my feelings, I feel like a slave."

"You're being ordered around all the time when you take a job." The boy said with a sigh.

"Well yeah, but I get paid. I'll do anything for the Queens coins." He said with a snicker taking out a gold coin and twirling in between his fingers.

"Then I'll give you money." The boy said catching the assassin's attention.

"Now you're talking my language." Michael said with a smirk.

"So what do you want to know?" Michael said as he sat on the cushioned chair, he emptied a brown bag on the child's oak wooden desk revealing gold coins. He counted them one by one as he listened to his new client.

"Why did you kill that man?" The child said as he stared intensely at Michael.

"I was hired to." Michael said, a he pecked a coin with affection.

"Who's your client?"

"Sorry that's classified." The young boy sighed as he set down another brown bag in front of Michael, catching him off guard. Michael frowned and looked up from his coins.

"Sorry but it's in the contract I make them sign, one of the rules state: 'the hired assassin is to never reveal any personal information over the client, even if the assassin is to be put in a tight situation'."

"Is there any way for you to bend the rules?" The demon spoke as he took another bag of coins.

"Now you're insulting me mama bear." Michael said, his usual smile dropping suddenly, but quickly changed back to his smirk as he recited another rule from the contract. "'If a client is to break one of the rules the assassin does not need to follow the contract'."

"And what kind of rule is that?" The young Lord said, his eyebrow raised.

"Well my dear friend, if that same client were to hire another assassin to kill the one they hired to kill with a contract, then so be it betrayal."

"You're telling me that if your client hired someone else to kill you then you will tell us who he is?"

"More or less... Yes." Michael said as he smiled and took the bags that the young Lord had given him so kindly. "Well if that is all then I shall take my leave."

"Hold on." The young Lord said holding up his ring hand.

"Yes?" Michael turned with a smirk.

"How can I reach you?" The young Lord said with a serious look.

"Since you so dearly showed humble service to a wondering being." Michael said as he searched his coat. "I'm but a click away." He said handing the small Lord a black box, on top a small red button was placed inside a clear over head as to not click the red button by accident. "You should be honored my Lord, you are the second to receive the red call button."

"Who's the first?" At the mention of the first button Michael freezed in his steps and looked back, a dark look passed over him as he changed quickly.

"My mother or course!" He said playfully.

"One final question." The young Lord said as he placed the small cube in his desk.

"Ask anything that's within my knowledge." Michael said, a gentle smile on his full lips.

"What do I call you."

"Michael would be a pleasant name." Michael said as he bowed and disappeared without a sound.
