I walk quickly past the cafe and into a small alley that not many people know about since the entrance is hidden and from the outside it just looks like a wall.
That's what perspective does to ya. Harper was the one who showed me the alley. She found it one night walking home from the cafe. I had asked her how she found it and she said that she was just walking along and saw it, but I knew she was lying.
Firstly because it's impossible to see during the day, let alone at night. And secondly because I knew she wasn't at the cafe. She was at her ex boyfriend, Chad's house and let's just say Chad wasn't the best of influences. He was the one that got her on all the drugs and alcohol just over a year ago. After he broke up with her it all changed though and she gave it all up.
I know that sounds cheesy, but it's true. I know because I helped her get better. Especially since she couldn't go to a rehab centre to get better or any chances of her getting into a top university would be over. She made that very clear.
I snap out of my trance of daydreaming. Although I wouldn't really call it daydreaming because those memories were some of the worse. As I pull the phone out of my pocket, the hair on the back of my neck stands up. Weird. That only usually happens when someone's watching me.
I look around me, sweeping the alley with my eyes looking for something. Anything really. To reveal why I feel this way. When I don't see anything I look back down at the phone. I press one of the buttons on top and the phone comes to life.
As I wait for it to turn on a big green Samsung logo comes across the screen before turning on and bringing me to an empty lock screen. I swipe to unlock it, but it prompts me for a password. Shit. Then I remember. I know the perfect person to help me.
