Tiger was having his own adventure in the meantime. He spotted sheep being herded and he was attracted to the shepherd named Joy. When tried to get to know her, she just insulted him and he ran off in disgust to the train station and when it arrived he climbed aboard.

On the way to Oh Aces Lou, Brody and Buck devised a plan for luring Shamus to BG while they stole his papers that proved they were forgeries. Brody and Buck also argued endlessly about who loved Lou more; she was getting fed up.

Buck pretended to be his brother and he talked Shamus into going to Tent City where Lou and Brody were together. He also told him that he had killed his brother, Buck. Shamus was furious about Lou and wanted to leave right away.

Brody was up first thing after Buck left and saw that he had left a muffin for Lou. He tossed it into the tumbleweed and made a breakfast for Lou himself. They hurried to Oh Aces without seeing Buck or Shamus, got the papers and then made a beeline for BG.

Billy was upset that Lorne couldn't move Tex Mex because of his wounds but stuck to his promise to watch over BG until he could travel. Margarita was out of danger and had to be arrested again and the doc went to see what he do for Tex Mex. Lorne, expressing his sympathy to Billy, eagerly picked Myna up and headed for the bakery.

On the ride back to Tent City Shamus started getting suspicious about Buck, asking about him killing his brother. Buck, desperately trying to stay in character as Bruce, told him and Shamus was surprised Lou didn't react but it didn't matter, he was going to kill her anyway - and Brody too.

Buck was stunned. He had to find a way to warn Lou but the best he could do was delay Shamus into waiting until morning and then catching them both together in Lou's place. He didn't know what he would do when morning came and Shamus discovered they weren't there.

The quick ride back left Brody dealing with mixed thoughts. He realized now that Lou was leaning toward Buck and in spite of all the reasons he gave her for his own case, he was smart enough to see the truth. In the end he gave in and chose to be the friend he'd always been and help finished Shamus and save Buck.
