Part 11 Vol. 4

Finally confirmed was the death of Tex Mex. He was found badly burned but his face held an expression of terror that seemed to speak of darker things. At the doc's, Annie was confused by the Buchanans. She had no idea they were twins and was dismayed to learn that Buck held a place for Lou, considering she and Lou had similar backgrounds.

Buck suggested she use her interest in writing by having a talk with CG at the paper; it was evident that her time was wasted with the brothers. Lou arrived only making matters worse as they all debated over whom cared for whom and solved little.

Dixie and Hugh had some mysterious visitor drop in on them in the cave they were using. When Hugh had quarters in the livery, this seemed an odd situation since the town knew they had eloped.

3Gun's head was filled with all the things that had to be done after the fire and while trying to work out priorities he chose to see if CG would be interested in dinner.

A telegram arrived for the sheriff explaining all about a long held secret that affected many residents of BG with the learning of an inheritance. It came from Hugh and Dixie - late because in it they asked 3Gun to be their best man. Too late for that.

The Marshall wasted no time in seeking out Myna after the fire was out; he wanted to discuss their future and the idea of running for mayor. That had become a topic some others as well. Dixie Land and Will barter both tossed hats in the ring and 3Gun pushed for faster completion of the new jail and the church roof.

Annie meanwhile was rejected by Bruce Buchanan and in a fit she hurled a bottle of blueberry whiskey, shattering it near Brody, whose eyes locked with hers and Annie was off again.

Margarita, who had been held under house arrest at the hotel learned about Tex Mex and recanted all her crimes, hoping for forgiveness and an opportunity to make amends. Deputy Darkly stood up for her.

CrazyGoose hired Annie on trial in preparation for the upcoming election while she made her own observations on the goings on around town.

A new arrival was Harriet Folio who made an arrangement with the current council to open a library and was immediately welcomed with the suggestion that a school teaching opportunity could also be had.

More romantic shenanigans reared their head as Myna broached the possibility of elopement - a choice that would have the town hunting her down and Gyn promoting a newcomer, Soloman Ray, as assistant to AJ until his arm was better.

The Orange Hills paper was new, still part of the Golden Pillars but destined to separate and Ricky Rat, chief editor was getting competition from Rusty Rooster, a situation that would need resolving soon because election interviews would be big news.
