the battle of Karánsebes

Hello!
I wanted to start this little book, with a part of the history most people don't know about.
Normally I don't talk about one battle on specific, but this time I will, because it's hilarious in it's own way.

Rough overview:

The battle of Karánsebes is referred to history's worst friendly fire incident.

It was a battle fought in the Austro-Turkish war during the night of the 21-22 September 1788.
It was fought in Caransebeș in the modern day Romania.

The battle was between the Habsburg monarchy and the ottoman empire, with Joseph II(Habsburg monarchy) and Koca Yusuf Pasha/ Cenaze Hasan Pashe(Ottoman empire) as the commanders/leaders.

The Habsburg monarchy came into the fight with 80,000-100,000 soldiers and suffered between 150-10,000 losses, meanwhile the Ottoman empire had 0 soldiers and therefore no losses.

The whole thing ended in a victory of the ottoman empire and a self destruction of the Habsburg monarchy.

Course of the battle:

The traditional narrative of the story holds a some exaggerations and embellishments, so I'm not gonna tell you this one, instead two you what we can be sure about today.

On the march the Austrian army was seized with a panic, mistaking their own troop from the Sclavonian frontiers for the Ottoman troops.
They thought the 'enemy' was threatening them, so the regiments started to shoot at one another. While they all looked for the enemy(which wasn't there) the emperor himself tried to stop the shooting, but all his attempts failed.
He was then separated from his suite and wandered around, cluelessly(is that even a word?). It's assumed that he was taken prisoner after arriving in Karánsebes with one person.

Two days later the actual Ottomans arrived, only to find dead bodys and wounded soldiers. They then took the city of Karánsebes with ease.

This was my first historical text, and I think it's ok.

Well that was it for today!
